A novel control strategy for power extraction from photo voltaic panels based on One Cycle Control 一种基于单周期控制的光伏板抽电控制策略

This paper presents maximum power point tracking and load voltage regulation of a photo voltaic panel using One Cycle Control (OCC). The power generation by renewable energy sources depends highly on atmospheric conditions and due to that they are very chaostic in nature. Hence rapid control becomes an essential requirement for the converters used for power conditioning. Conventionally PI controller is used for the control of power electronic circuits employed in such systems. But conventional PI controller takes few switching cycles to track the variations in operating conditions while the one cycle controller can track them within one switching cycle. Also compared to PI, OCC has a better transient response. Short current pulse based maximum power point tracking is used here to compare the performance of OCC and PI controller. MATLAB/Simulink simulation results are provided to verify their performance.

Performance evaluation of shunt active power filter control strategies under different supply conditions 不同供电条件下并联有源电力滤波器控制策略的性能评价

This paper presents a comparative dynamic performance evaluation of three most extensively used control algorithms for shunt active power filter (APF), namely, p-q theory, d-q method and id-iq method under various conditions supply voltage. The effectiveness of these control methods under different operating conditions are validated and compared in terms of total harmonic distortion (THD) content in supply line current and dc-link voltage regulation.

Induction machine efficiency estimation using population based algorithm 基于群体算法的感应电机效率估计

There has been a tremendous pressure to predict the in situ efficiency of induction machine (IM) with limited level of intrusion so as to improve IMs performance. Least research work is carried out to make IM efficiency evaluation methods compatible to unbalanced supply and varying load conditions. This paper proposes a novel approach using cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) to obtain efficiency estimation of an IM operating as a motor working with unbalanced supply having under or over voltage issues. CSA improves the searching ability and has capability to adapt to complex optimization problems. Here, CSA optimizes the IM positive sequence parameters at various loading levels. The parameters optimization is done with the use of positive sequence input currents and electrical powers which have been obtained earlier at various operating loading points. Using the optimized parameters, the negative sequence parameters can be evaluated. So, the efficiency of IM can be estimated at different loading levels. The proposed approach is implemented on the MATLAB platform. The effectiveness of the novel approach is established by comparing the results obtained with genetic algorithm (GA).

Effect of reliability of wind power converters in productivity of wind turbine 风力发电变流器的可靠性对风力发电机组生产率的影响

Reliability modeling in terms of Reliability block diagram (RBD) of different configurations of power electronic converter has been implemented. Literature survey reveals that failure of the power electronic converters is one of the main causes of the wind turbine failure in variable speed wind turbines. Failure rate, repair rate, reliability and availability are computed for existing configuration (Case1) and proposed configurations (Case2 and Case 3) of power converters. On comparing Case1 and Case2, it shows that Case2 configuration of power converter enhances the reliability by twenty four percent in case of squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG) and twenty five percent in case of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines. Similarly comparing Case 1 and Case3, it shows that Case3 configuration of power converter enhances the reliability by thirty three percent in case of squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG) and thirty percent in case of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines. DFIG based wind turbine using Case3 configuration gives highest reliability, availability with optimum cost.

Optimization of PMU placement by performing observability analysis 通过可观察性分析优化PMU的放置

Wide area monitoring system (WAMS) recognizes the condition, quality and stability of various parts of the power transmission network with the help of advent monitoring and measuring equipment. Phasor measurement units (PMUs) have emerged as vital devices for wide-area monitoring systems. Now a day, the optimal placement of PMUs for maintaining the observability of the whole network and providing adequate and reliable communication between them are challenging problems. A novel algorithm is proposed in this paper to identify optimal placement of PMUs by performing observability analysis with reduction in computational burden. This paper includes the optimal PMU placement algorithm and the degree of observability of each bus according to the PMU locations and its applications on IEEE 14 bus system. The simulation work has been performed on Orissa power grid network to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Modified series compensation for voltage sag / swell mitigation 改进的串联补偿电压下降/膨胀缓解

A voltage source inverter (VSI) is employed to implement a variable frequency drive (VFD) for obtaining desired speed-torque characteristics of an AC motor which is normally fed by a diode rectifier at the front end. These uncontrolled converters inject excessive harmonic currents in to AC mains resulting in detoriated power quality in terms of AC voltage waveform distortionat the point of common coupling (PCC) and increase losses in the distribution system. Because of voltage sag and swells, the DC link voltage is reduced and the drive needs to be derated. An active series compensator is proposed here which is capable of reducing harmonic currents at the PCC and regulating the DC link voltage at the input of the VSI, thus offering dual functionality.

Analysis of a robotic system with two DOF using Haar wavelet 基于Haar小波的二自由度机器人系统分析

This paper deals with the stability analysis of a robotic system, popularly known as pan tilt platform (PTP), with two degrees of freedom (DOF) using Haar wavelet. It has two revolute joints combining tilt mechanism with pan mechanism. Dynamic model of this robotic system is obtained using Newton-Euler equation. The stability analysis of its dynamic model is carried out using Haar wavelet for the first time. The objective of this paper is to achieve computational savings in the process. The obtained computational savings are tabulated and bar graphed to show comparison with the analytical technique.

Wind turbine economics: A study 风力涡轮机经济学:一项研究

Due to limited amount of fossil fuels and for the production of eco-friendly energy, it is necessary to switch to renewable energy systems. Wind energy is considered to be one of the most effective and efficient source as compared to other renewable energy sources. In this paper an attempt has been made to estimate the total cost and weight of wind turbine. Model as prepared using Matlab/Simulink may be helpful to decide the rating of wind turbine on the basis of its cost and weight.

This paper presents the study of effect of non-uniform irradiance on electrical characteristics of an assembly of solar PV panel. Study is based on a one diode model of PV panel. Effect is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink environment. In a solar power plant series Parallel connections of PV panels are used for obtaining desired voltage and current level. Under mismatch or non-uniform irradiance condition a hot spot formation may damage the PV panel. A bypass diode is provided with PV panel to avoid hot spot formation. Under non-uniform irradiance condition, due to presence of bypass diode, I-V and P-V characteristics are quite different from that of uniform irradiance condition. Results obtained show the presence of multiple peaks in P-V characteristics under non-uniform irradiance. This establishes requirement of a non-conventional maximum power point tracker algorithm.

New time domain electric arc furnace model for power quality study 用于电能质量研究的新型时域电弧炉模型

Power quality is becoming a more concern of today's power system engineer due to rapid growth of non-linear loads in distribution network. Electric arc furnace (EAF) is one of the typical industrial non-linear loads responsible for deteriorating the power quality in the distribution network by-introducing harmonics, propagating voltage flicker and causing unbalance-in voltages and currents. Hence electric arc furnace model is needed to study and to analyze the power quality in the distribution network. This paper presents a new time domain model of electric arc furnace to study power quality problems. The proposed model is a combination of two previous EAF models called-Exponential and hyperbolic model-using transition functions. The functioning of the proposed model has been validated by comparing its performance characteristics with the existing Cassie-Mayr EAF model. Simulation carried out in SIMULINK/MATLAB environment.
