Augmented Reality applications are used in almost every area of our lives. These applications have been started to use in the town planning and smart city applications. In this study, a prototype application was developed using this technology. As a smart city/smart campus application, Mugla Sitki Kogman University Campus application will be made. The aim of this study is to adapt some of the smart city features to a campus. In addition, this study is an attempt to generate a visual aid for the smart campus concept. An augmented reality prototype is developed for the MSKU campus. Image detection methods are used to detect the places. External data sources including Twitter data will be used to get information about the detected places and presented on the screen. Methods, design, and findings are discussed.

This paper proposes a score based computational technique for the detection of non-technical losses in electricity distribution networks. The methodology is comprised of three steps. In the first one, a score is assigned to each meter number considering the area that customers live. In second step, a C-means-based fuzzy clustering is applied to find consumers with similar consumption profiles. Then, a fuzzy classification is performed with fuzzy membership matrices. Afterwards, the Euclidean distances between membership matrices are calculated and normalized, yielding an index score. In third one, expected consumption values of each customer are calculated with installed power values and compared with real usage values. The differences are used as another score. Using all scores, a final score has been formed for each consumer, to be used to detect potential fraudsters. The approach was tested and validated on a real dataset, showing good performance in tasks of abnormal usage detection.

This paper presents a real-time condition assessment procedure for high-voltage circuit breakers (CBs). The simulation of CBs can be fulfilled using the existing arc models. These models can be used to characterize the transient behavior of CB after each operation. The transient signals originated by electric arcs contain several harmonics. Arc voltages can be effectively utilized to detect anomalies of CBs. Here, the total harmonic distortion (THD) index is considered in diagnosing the CB operating mechanism. The CB modeling and simulation are performed in the electro-magnetic transient program (EMTP) and the corresponding signal analyses are carried out in the MATLAB programming environment.

By managing the processes productively from power production to distribution to end user in smart grid systems, it is possible to store the energy when needed and then make it available for usage at a later time. This study analyses current and potential future electricity storage systems in smart grid technically and economically.

This paper presents a dynamic planning algorithm methodology which optimizes long-term primary electric distribution network investments considering planning metrics. An algorithm which calculates a representative primary network model of distribution grids, whose primary and secondary networks are intricate, is developed. It is aimed to facilitate assessment of primary distribution network investment requirements and thereby defining grid investment candidates effectively. A planning algorithm, which considers representative primary network model and candidate planning investments as inputs, is developed based on a mixed integer programming (MIP) technique. Some planning metrics are defined in order to technically and economically assess optimum investments along the planning horizon. DIgSILENT PowerFactory (PF) software is utilized in technical analysis to assess impacts of candidate grid investments on technical constraints. The algorithms and planning metrics developed in the study are tested satisfactorily on pilot regions of Akdeniz Electric Distribution Company in Turkey.

Performance evaluation of distribution network in presence of Plug-in Electric Vehicles through a new index 基于新指标的插电式电动汽车配电网性能评价

In recent decades, the presence of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) has increased in the distribution networks. PEVs are probabilistic loads that can have negative effects on the performance of the distribution networks. These effects include overloads, losses, voltage drops, and unbalances that may take place in the distribution networks by PEV charging. Hence, the use of important and practical indices to assess a distribution network can be useful. It should be noted that it is very difficult to compare between the effects of different indices for the penetration level of the specified PEVs using the available indices. In order to compare the effects of different indices, the available ones are modified and then a new index is proposed based on the modified indices. The IEEE-37 node test feeder is used to assess the performance of the modified and proposed indices. Simulation results show the flexibility and precision of the proposed approach.
