Space-charge field of photorefractive substrate forces polymer fibrils to move and induce director grating. Coupling of light beams within the grating leads to weak beam gain coefficient greater than in solid photorefractive crystals.

Speckle-free imaging of dynamic targets without motion blur using pulsed laser arrays 脉冲激光阵列无运动模糊的动态目标无散斑成像

Incoherent microlaser arrays producing 11 mJ pulses with 5 ns duration were developed as light sources for speckle-free imaging. Imaging targets with speeds up to 300 m/s was achieved without motion blur. Additionally, this light source is shown to be effective for imaging through mist.

Expressions of circulating microRNA 935 and 140 were evaluated pre- and post-8-week diet and exercise intervention in overweight subjects using a sensor developed by our group. A unique pre-to-post microRNA expression pattern was identified only in the subjects who lost 5% or more excess weight.

We introduce a new eigenvalue problem arising from electromagnetic scattering which may potentially be used as a target signature in nondestructive testing of materials. After establishing some basic properties of this eigenvalue problem, we show that the eigenvalues may be determined from measured scattering data.

Resonant Reflection by Waveguide Gratings with Structured Period 结构周期波导光栅的共振反射

We show that waveguide gratings with structured period provide additional tool for adjusting relative magnitudes of the coupling coefficients for the waves in different diffraction orders and thus controlling the resonant reflection by the waveguide gratings. In particular, the grating can be designed to provide narrow reflection peak in the wavelength domain while significantly reducing angular dependence of the resonance.

We present the design, growth, fabrication, and characterization of type-II quantum-dot (QD) based light emitting diodes (LEDs) mid-wave infrared wavelengths. We demonstrate promising temperature performance for the QD-LEDS and as their incorporation into monolithic plasmonic cavities. The potential for individual quantum emitter devices is discussed.

Confidence Modeling and Tracking of Recycled Integrated Circuits, Enabled by Blockchain 区块链支持的回收集成电路信心建模和跟踪

The modern electronics supply chain is a globalized marketplace with the increasing threat of counterfeit integrated circuits (ICs) being installed into mission critical systems. A number of methods for detecting counterfeit ICs exist; however, effective test and evaluation (T&E) methods to assess the confidence of detecting recycled ICs are needed. Additionally, methods for the trustworthy tracking of recycled ICs in the supply chain are also needed. In this work, we propose a novel methodology to address the detection and tracking of recycled ICs at each stage of the electronics supply chain. We present a case study demonstrating our assessment model to calculate the confidence levels of authentic and recycled ICs, and to confidently track these types of ICs throughout the electronics supply chain.

PDP has been shown to be an effective alternative approach to traditional display protocols incorporating dynamic refresh-rate, high-speed capabilities, and sub-windowing capabilities. This paper presents continued enhancements made to the architecture and state-of-the-art results using a newly developed compositor for high-speed operation of IRSP systems.
