This paper presents a discourse analysis of three vintage advertisements for Ironized Yeast using Multi Modal Discourse Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis. Drawing on the concept of erotic capital by Hakim (2011), the study explores how these advertisements exploit women’s insecurities about their body shape while offering a solution that goes beyond physical attractiveness. The analysis reveals that the advertisements promote the idea that women can leverage their erotic capital to enhance their sex appeal, thereby increasing their chances of success in the dating and marriage market. This research examines the construction and perpetuation of the seductive power associated with a curvy figure. The findings highlight the intricate interplay between discourses of attractiveness, power dynamics, and societal expectations, urging critical reflection on the influence of such representations on individuals and broader social dynamics.

The sudden and massive arrival of the Bamileke on the highlands of West Cameroon between the 15th and 16th centuries A.D. through spontaneous, sporadic and sometimes disorganized migratory waves, marked an unprecedented change in the socio-cultural evolution and political configuration of the region. Indeed, this had led not only to the progressive populating of the entire plateau, but also to the beginning of the first real organized and structured political entities, namely the chiefdoms. The matrimonial social system of Bamileke polygamy generated an exponential demographic growth inherent to a strong uncontrolled dynamic that systematically exerted enormous pressure on the exploitation of natural resources, which in addition to being already scarce was also static. The Bamileke in a survivalist spirit tried to control vital spaces such as water, land, hunting grounds, etc., which unleashed the hegemonic impulses and antagonistic bellicosity of these tribes; one against the other thus plunging the whole region into a turbulent atmosphere characterized by conquest struggles and raids. Indeed, the Bamileke, faced with the permanent challenges of instability and insecurity, in a logic of survival, will appeal to geography to protect themselves. This article aims to demonstrate the contribution of geography in Bamileke architecture as a basic defensive and security support. A genuine interest was noted in the involvement of geography in the development and elaboration of defense and security techniques and strategies in Bamileke land. The study revealed that geography had always played a decisive role not only in the migratory path of this people but had also punctuated the choice of their position at altitude on the plateau, including that of their spiritual conception. This research combined both documentary analysis and oral source approaches.

This study aims to promote the special cultural monuments of Cappadocia and their organization in cultural routes, in order to promote and use them for touristic purposes. Cappadocia as a destination is a journey of life in the East. It has a strong Greek element, unique landscapes, such as the famous rock formations, the underground cities and the Byzantine cave churches. Its history is linked to the multicultural roots of different people, who have left their mark on the region. The special morphology, the volcanic rocks, as well as the rock formations, led to the creation of cities and neighborhoods with special natural beauty, functioning as a pole of attraction for tourists. Suggestions for the use of caves and cave churches could follow the example of Matera and Spinalonga.

The aim for this paper is to present the results of a research conducted to identify the impact of codeswitching in a multilingual speaker. The research was conducted via electronic since the participant and the researcher are not in the same country. The results were obtained by an interview where the participant share her experience by being a multilingual speaker in Germany. The results show the effect and how the participant feel regarding the phenomenon of codeswitching.

This paper presents research on Multilingualism in Language Acquisition, making emphasis on how it affects the process of learning a new langue in multilingual people. The article goes through many topics, such as “the nativist theory” related to the process of language acquisition, among others that help to the understanding of the conclusions. The method used to gather information was through questionnaires. To carry out the research students and teachers from the Language Department of the University of Guanajuato were asked to answer questionnaires. The results of the questionnaires of the subjects were collected and analyzed to find and show the impact of knowing other languages in the acquisition of a new one. The conclusion of this article support and states that multilingualism affects and helps in a positive way with the acquisition of a new language, also stated that language learners who know more languages have an advantage in acquiring a new one than monolingual people.

This article examines the benefits that the use of children’s literature can bring to Special Education. Children’s literature can provide significant benefits to students by providing role models and values as well as enhancing their cognitive development. This applies to all children with the exception of those who face special educational needs and are included in special education. The benefits of children’s literature are as much cognitive and academic as they are emotional and social. Children’s literature can be an important means of encouraging and motivating students studying in Special Education and at the same time contribute to the development of their skills and abilities because of the perspectives and opportunities it creates.

This study aims to recall the ideas and activities in the field of an evolutionary approach to the research of speculative historiosophy and its possible influences on the research of the social sciences and humanities. The research is in the form of a scientific essay in which different concepts are analyzed. The main points in the essay are: “Genetics” and “What is the role of the humanities and social sciences? Is their existence really pointless?” The essay ends with conclusions: the “social sciences” – the areas of research must be assisted by evolutionary explanations in order to understand the source of the creation of their objects of research in their attempt to analyze the behavior of a person/society and create a better social order for human society.

This study profiles the nature of culturally bound syndrome perception of Ode-Ori (schizophrenia) incident among faith based and traditional mental illness healers in the Oke-Ogun area. The study relied on Interviews with mental health healers in the faith based and traditional treatment of mental illness. The interviews were recorded on tape, processed, and analyzed. Narratives indicated that local mental health experts conceptualize Ode-Ori as a psychotic syndrome resulting from spiritual attack, punishment for taboo violations or genetic inheritance from parents to their offspring. The disorder was viewed as having poor prognosis. Healers apply local treatment in the form of; holy water, spiritual bath, head washing with leaves sap mixed with black soap (osedudu), incision on the forehead and syncretism prayers and exorcism to return the patient to normality. This study concludes that there is cultural coloration to understanding of schizophrenia, it causes located in supernatural, spiritual and genetic factors. There is the need for more education about nature and causes of schizophrenia among Onko people in Nigeria.

This paper explores the scourge of human trafficking in South Africa and Zimbabwe- two neighboring Southern African nations. Data for this study were obtained from research articles, documents and online articles on trafficking in persons. The paper highlights the trends, push/pull factors, the control, as well as the obstacles to effective control of human trafficking within the two countries. The paper reveals that South Africa is characterized by pull factors, largely due to its position as the economic powerhouse of Southern Africa. Conversely, human trafficking in Zimbabwe is mainly spurred by push factors emanating from acute socio-economic problems. Despite significant efforts in the control of trafficking in persons through legislation and enforcement, loopholes in the trafficking in persons legislation within the two nations, as well as persistent economic challenges in Zimbabwe, are impeding the effective control of human trafficking.
