Parasitic infestation in laboratory rat strain, Long-Evans ( Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout, 1769) 实验室大鼠Long-Evans品系的寄生虫感染情况(褐家鼠,1769)

In the present investigation, 30 Long-Evans were examined. Out of 30, 23 rats were infected by helminth parasites, two species of helminth parasites from two taxonomic groups were identified, cestode Hymenolepis nana and nematode Syphacia muris . The prevalence and intensity of parasites were quite different in different groups of helminth parasites in hosts. The prevalence and intensity of infestation of cestodes were 26.67% and 5.57±1.5 while higher of nematodes 66.67% and 60.85±8.1 in the Long-Evans respectively. Hymenolepis nana was found in small intestine and Syphacia muris in all parts of the alimentary tract. The prevalence and intensity of infestation was 36.67% and 5.09±1.6 respectively in small intestine. The prevalence of infestation was similar both in large intestine and caecum (63.33%), and in rectum (63.33%). The intensity of infestation was 24±3.30 and 39.16±4.10 in large intestine and caecum, and in rectum respectively. Toxicity of prirmiphos-methyl and three essential oils, alone and in combination against Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) 甲基原磷与三种精油单独及联合对黄斑斑孔雀鱼的毒性研究

Toxicity of pirimiphos-methyl and three essential oils, viz. cardamom [ Elettaria cardamomum (L.) Maton.], cinnamon ( Cinnamomum aromaticum Nees) and clove [ Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & Perry]; either singly or in mixture in different ratios were investigated on the cowpea weevil, Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) adults, through residual film bioassay. The LD 50 of pirimiphos-methyl was 0.011 μg cm -2 and that of cardamom, cinnamon and clove oils were 20.68, 12.38 and 16.89 μg cm-2 respectively after 24 h post-treatment. Pirimiphos-methyl and tested essential oils were used as mixture of 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:10 and 1:20 and the LD50 values were calculated. All essential oils when combined with pirimiphos-methyl proved to be antagonistic effect against C. maculatus adults except cardamom oil which offered synergistic effect at the 1:20 ratio with pirimiphos-methyl. Prevalence of zoonotic parasitic diseases of domestic animals in different abattoir of Comilla and Brahman Baria region in Bangladesh. 孟加拉国科米拉和婆罗门巴里亚地区不同屠宰场家畜人畜共患寄生虫病的流行情况。

A study was conducted to investigate about the prevalence of parasitic diseases in different abattoirs in selective area of Bangladesh such as Comilla and Brahmon Baria districts. Animals were examined for post-mortem defects in different abattoirs of those districts. The study started from February, 2008 to August, 2008. The total examined animals were 3510, among them 1460 cattle, 620 buffaloes, 970 goats and 460 sheep. Age, sex and breed of the examined animals were recorded as far as practicable. The overall prevalence of hydatidosis was highest (26.01%) followed by fascioliasis (20.74%), amphistomiasis (19.62%). The prevalence of above mentioned diseases was higher in older animals. The prevalence of hydatidosis, fascioliasis and amphistomiasis was higher in male in case of cattle and goats. But the prevalence of those diseases was distinctly higher in female animals in case of buffaloes and sheep. The proportional prevalence of different disease conditions in cattle was much higher in Hariana breed than those of local and crossbred cattle. A case study on Mummified Foetus in a heifer 小母牛木乃伊胎儿的个案研究

A farm economy depends upon a calf per year per cow. Mummified foetus is a reproductive disorder which is responsible for farm economic loss by extending the inter calving period as well as foetal loss. The incidence of mummified foetus in cattle is low and sporadic but the incidence may be higher in some herds (Roberts, 1971). In cattle fetal mummification occurs with an incidence of 0.13-1.8% (Barth, 1986). In Bangladesh there is no accurate account about the incidence of mummified foetus in cow but sporadically mummified foetus occurred throughout the country. Talbot & Hafs (1974) treated the mummified foetus in cow with Prostaglandin F2α. However, such foetus might be treated with intramuscular administration of Stilbestrol, Estradiol, Respositol diethylstilbestrol or manual removal of the persistent corpus luteum (Roberts, 1971). Most mummified foetuses will remain in the uterus until treatment is given to expel them or until their removed by caesarean section (Wenkoff & Manns, 1977). The choice of treatment of this problem is injection of prostaglandin F2α and in failure case caesarean section. There is some evidence of failure to expel mummified foetus by the treatment with prostaglandin F2α. To overcome this type of complication the author has had personal interest to deliver the mummified foetus with cesarean section rather than Prostaglandin F2α injection. Arthur et al. (1996) showed that treatment of mummified foetus with Prostaglandin F2α create some complexicity in cattle like maceration of mummified foetus and packed in the birth canal instead of expelled out. It occurs as a consequence of uterine infection, pyometra, chronic endometritis and finally the animal should therefore be sent for slaughter.

Repellency of two monoterpenoids and neem oil against Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) 两种单萜类化合物和印楝油对斑点小褐蝽的驱避作用

The repellent activity of monoterpenoids viz. eugenol, zimtaldehyde and neem oil against pulse beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) was investigated. Responses varied significantly with compound, dose and exposure time. The tested components showed highest level of repellency against C. maculatus at a dose of 1 μl. Over 80%, Class V, repellency was achieved after 5 to 60 min. treatment with the components at a dose of 1 μl. The repellent action of zimtaldehyde showed the highest repellency (87.41% at 10 min exposure) status against C. maculatus than neem oil and eugenol, while the lowest (79.46%) was recorded for eugenol at 25 min exposure level. Fisheries eco-biology of beel Koshba in Naogaon District 直冈地区鳙鱼渔业生态生物学研究

The physical conditions of Beel Koshba consisting of water temperature (25.36±5.12°C/day), water depth (204.96±110.36cm/month) and water transparency (30.91±6.78 cm/day) were recorded. The chemical parameters of total hardness, alkalinity, pH, DO, CO 2 and ammonia were 146.60±13.36 mg/l, 143.30±9.33 mg/l, 7.05±0.75, 6.03±1.08 mg/l, 8.64±0.88 mg/l and 0.73±0.31 mg/l respectively. A total of 54 species of different vegetations 123 species of phytoplankton and 73 species of zooplankton were recorded from the beel. A total of 104 species of fish and Annelids (8), arthropods (12), molluscs (15), amphibian (8), reptiles (21), avis (40) and mammals (12) were identified.
