Purpose – to analyze the image, consumption and purchase habits of chicken and turkey meats by households with children as both kinds of meat are healthier than others. Research methodology – in the field of marketing, we carried out a telephone survey, a tool commonly used in market research to obtain primary source information. Findings – there are differences between households with and without children under 18 years old in the consumption and purchase habits of turkey and chicken meat. Instead, there is no difference in the image of both meats between the total of the sample and the households with children under 18 years old. Research limitations – we have not analysed the performance of these meats in relation to other types of meat. There- fore, it would be useful to have data on other meats in the future in order to make comparisons. Practical implications – the results of the research can be used to develop appropriate social responsibility strategies in the meat industry. Originality/Value – the point of view we provide is novel as we have not found comparable studies for these types of meat. Previously, the authors have analysed the children’s consumption of rabbit meat using a similar approach.

Purpose – the implementation of eco-innovation practices is observed in the micro-level of the company and the integration of these practices with the overall firm’s strategy is inevitable. We set forth to investigate at what level the field of eco-innovation strategies has been studied at the firm-level. Research methodology – a review of the most influential articles in the field of eco-innovation strategies was conducted. A total of 929 scientific publications included in Web of Science (WoS) (Clarivate Analytics) database between 1990 and 2020 were taken into consideration. Findings – the results of this study reveal the following: (1) the increasing trend of publications in the field of eco-in- novation strategies; (2) the most influential articles related to the topic; (3) the gaps of extant research and future research directions. Research limitations – this study uses citations as a measure of influence which might be deceptive due to the fact that some authors might be citing themselves and / or citing publications in a negative context. Practical implications – findings provide relevant insights about the input and the output of eco-innovation strategies and serves as a guide for researchers and practitioners exploring eco-innovation strategies. Originality/Value – this study enhances the body of knowledge on the field of eco-innovation strategies. This is the first study, which investigates the scientific publications related to firm-level eco-innovation strategies and develops an operative conceptual model for future studies.

Purpose – to evaluate the efficiency of the credit provision process of Lithuanian banks, to submit suggestions for improvement. Research methodology – after the theoretical analysis of the efficiency of the credit granting process was developed, an empirical research using the methods of questionnaire survey and analysis of financial indicators was carried out. Findings – efficiency is usually lost at the stages of consideration of application, conclusion of credit portfolio and risk assessment. These factors were distinguished from all efficiency reducing factors: time consuming processes, not automatized stages, insufficiently informed customer. Research limitations – methods of analysis of scientific literature are limited, but they enable the analysis and identifi- cation of the efficiency of credit provision within the research. Practical implications – the article evaluates the efficiency of credit provision by selected banks and proposes measures to streamline the process. By applying the proposed measures, banks could increase the efficiency of the credit granting process. Originality/Value – previously, the effectiveness of credit granting process in Lithuanian banks has not been assessed.

Purpose – to identify the prerequisites for organizational changes of the emerging health insurance system in Vietnam. Research methodology - comparative analysis, statistical analysis, case study. Findings – the obligatory health insurance in Vietnam performs its functions only partially. There is still high level of out-of-pocket spending on medical services. First we identified one of the most important challenges to the health insurance system in Vietnam, namely, the population aging. Secondly, we identified and analyzed and the prerequisites (the pre-existing conditions), which can become the basis for the reorganization of the existing health insurance system without major reforms: (1) the cultural values of Asian society, which allow to build a community-based type model of living for the elderly on the basis of “equal with equal”; (2) technological advances in medicine that extend the healthy life of the elderly, (3) trust in traditional medicine, which allows widen the coverage of the poorest “elderly households”. Practical implications - the results of the study require attention from the government and insurance providers when rethinking of organizing process for mandatory medical insurance. Originality/Value – we have identified the ways of possible organizational changes for the health insurance system, making the most of the existing prerequisites. This can help to get closer to the goal of full coverage with health insurance services while achieving a positive social effect. The identified internal reserves make it possible to imple- ment organizational changes without major reforms of the established health insurance system. No studies have been conducted in this perspective.

Purpose – this paper aims to ground an extended model of sustainable regional development, which would serve as an instrument to estimate and, ultimately, minimize the harmful impact of ecological threats on sustainable economic development. Research methodology – Ecological Carrying Capacity (ECC) concept needs to be applied; chosen “COVID19” is as a valid sample of ecological pressure on regions to study its harmful impact on one of the ecological resource “GDP” for the vital group G20 countries that control 75% of the world’s GDP. Secondary data were collected from the Passport database’s Macro model for evaluations and predictions. Findings – GDP drop due to COVID19 in developed countries is higher than the developing countries of the G20 group, indicating the need to utilize the global sustainability EGB model instead of the SLB model. Research limitations – considering one macro model indicator (GDP), which could be enhanced by including other indicators. Practical implications – the obtained results promote a consistent reaction pattern of GDP growth with ecological threats in differently developed countries to devise economic policies on how to mitigate these threats’ globally. Originality/Value – previous studies mainly focused on identifying ecological threats, whereas our study studied how to measure these threats’ harmful impact on countries’ economies.

Purpose – to reveal the problems of apparent and implied authority in the context of sustainable business relationships. Research methodology – the research is conducted from a comparative perspective, explaining the problems of apparent and implied authority in selected jurisdictions. Findings – authors conclude that apparent authority is the exclusive remedy available only where a link has been established between the circumstances of the principal and the reasonable belief of the third party. Implied authority cannot be equated with apparent authority, although case law often does not distinguish between these two categories. Research limitations – due to limited scope, this article does not address the ratification of unauthorised agent’s actions and the liability of falsus procurator. Practical implications – the research reveals that implied authority derives from the factual circumstances in which the agent acts and must be regarded as part of the actual authority, which presupposes that, unlike in the case of apparent authority, the implied representation does not qualify as one of the cases of unauthorised agency. Originality/Value – the significance of this study is linked to the development of reasonable rules for the application of apparent and implied authority in order to safeguard the legitimate interests of all persons involved in this complex relationship.

Based on this paper, further concrete empirical research, training and education measures will be developed.","PeriodicalId":237890,"journal":{"name":"Selected papers of the International Scientific Conference “Contemporary Issues in Business, Management and Economics Engineering 2021”","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127023351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
Purpose – to review literature about circular supply chain (CSC) theories, methods, frameworks, and appli-cations in industries. For organizations to incorporate circular economy (CE) principles in their supply chain frame-work are required to address the main circular processes. Previous attempts of frameworks aim at the comprehensive approaches or too theoretical for organizations to use them. The objective is to propose a theoretical framework that allows organizations to prioritize main circular processes in order to start improving or introducing new circular pro-cesses in the supply chain. Research methodology – the methodology of the article consists of a literature review and information synthesis for the formulation of the theoretical framework. Web of Science database was used for literature review with the key words of “circular economy supply chain”. Findings – formulated theoretical CSC framework contributes to the CSC research field with a more organization-ori-entated approach. Research limitations – the proposed framework is limited through only theoretical propositions and is more limited in its scope compared to other researchers. Practical implications – organizations in the supply chain such as manufacturers can understand through a framework main processes required for CSC. Originality/Value – compared to other researchers this work emphasizes and proposes CSC development from an organizational perspective rather than from a holistic approach.
