Variable regulated high voltage power supply 可变稳压高压电源

This paper presents an innovative variable regulated high voltage power supply (VRHVPS). It has an output voltage ranging from 0V to 500V, for a maximum current of 0.25A. It consists of a switched mode power supply (SMPS) followed by a linear regulator with a power supply rejection ratio (PSSR) of 58dB. The digital control module consists of an 8bit microcontroller, a small digital display, an isolated inter-integrated-circuit (I2C) interface with an isolated hall sensor as a current sensor and 12-bit analog to digital converters (ADC) to read the output voltage and current, also a 12bit digital to analog converter (DAC) which controls the linear regulator's output voltage.

Study of voltage sag impact on LED lamp consumed currents 电压暂降对LED灯消耗电流影响的研究

The use of light emitting diode (LED) lamps in utility distribution systems is spreading because of the implementation of energy saving policies. These devices may malfunction and consume current peaks due to voltage sags, which are one of the most serious problems for sensitive equipment. This paper investigates the impact of voltage sags on currents consumed by LED lamps, and proposes an equivalent circuit of LED lamps. Simulations with this circuit and experimental measurements are discussed and compared.

Comparative assessment of power loss among four typical wind turbines in power distribution system 配电系统中四种典型风力机的功率损耗比较评估

Power loss in current power distribution systems is of critical importance and greatly influences sizing of electric devices. In this paper, four types of wind turbines (WTs) are evaluated and simulated on IEEE 33-bus test system using ETAP software: Type-1: fixed-speed conventional induction generator; Type-2: variable slip induction generator with variable rotor resistance; Type-3: variable speed doubly-fed asynchronous generator with rotor-side converter; and Type-4: variable speed asynchronous generator with full converter interface. ETAP software is one of the most powerful and practical simulation packages used for power system transient studies. Four scenarios are considered in this study. In the first scenario, no WTs are installed in the network and the system operates in conventional fashion. In the second scenario, WT is integrated in upstream network; while in the third scenario, WTs are installed in distributed fashion in two positions through the network. In this state, all four types of turbines are examined in terms of power loss in different and sensitive locations of the network. In addition, power losses related to each type in each part of the system are compared with each other and when no WTs are installed. Furthermore, voltage drop of each bus to which the WT may be connected is measured in order to get the appropriate WT in each scenario in terms of power loss.

Lightning impulse type overvoltage transmitted between the windings of the transformer 在变压器各绕组之间传输的雷击式过电压

This paper presents a calculation method for voltage transmitted between the windings of the transformer while it is being subjected to the lightning impulse; it describes the reasoning and analytical relations for the predetermination of the transmitted voltage. Software was developed in LabVIEW, in order to make the calculation more efficient and to illustrate the corresponding waveforms of the transmitted voltage determined by calculation. The study was conducted on a 50/67 MVA, TTU-SONAN, 132/13.8/6.6 kV transformer, and the results achieved by calculation have been validated through experimental tests.

Performance investigation of high level modular multilevel inverter based shunt hybrid active power filter 基于并联混合有源电力滤波器的高电平模块化多电平逆变器性能研究

The multilevel inverters have become popular equipment for medium and high power applications in recent years. These inverters can constitute high voltage and decrease harmonics by their own circuit topologies. This paper presents a modular multilevel inverters based SHAPF for medium voltage applications, focusing on its control method and operating performance. The compensation process is based on synchronous reference frame method. Theoretical analyses and simulation results are obtained from an actual industrial network model in PSCAD. The simulation results are presented for a proposed system in order to demonstrate that the harmonic compensation performance meets the IEEE-519 standard.

Parameters of cloud to cloud and intra-cloud lightning strikes to CFC and metallic aircraft structures 云对云和云内雷击对CFC和金属飞机结构的参数

This paper presents for the first time an assessment of the impact of direct cloud-to-cloud (CC) and intra-cloud (IC) lightning flash on a commercial and a military aircraft. In contrast to cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning strikes to aircraft, where measurements of CG flash measurements may be extended to aircraft strikes, CC and IC flashes are not so accessible. The effects of CC and IC flashes differ from CG flash largely owing to the earth resistance present in CG flashes which imposes limits on the lightning return stroke. It applies the experimentally-attested transmission line model which was reviewed in a previous companion paper to assess the impact on metallic and carbon fiber composite (CFC) structures of modern aircraft. It compares the electrical impact of CC lightning flash on aircraft made of CFC and metallic structures. The simulations and analysis of voltages and the first return stroke current waveforms demonstrate the important distinctions in the characteristics of direct CC lightning effects on metallic and non-metallic airframes. Among the significant results observed are large differences in current time derivatives on the surface of the carbon fiber composites and metallic airframes. Further observations show that there are rise times for the voltage and currents which fall within the subnano and submicro seconds yielding large time derivatives for both the voltages and the currents. This can have important implications for the shielding and protection of the aircraft electrical and electronics systems.

Study of FLC based MPPT in comparison with P&O and InC for PV systems 基于FLC的MPPT与P&O和InC的光伏系统比较研究

Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) represents an important part in photovoltaic (PV) systems. This paper presents a comparative simulation study of three MPPT algorithms: Perturb & Observe (P&O), Incremental Conductance (InC), and intelligent Fuzzy Logic (FL) based MPPT controller under constant and variable atmospheric conditions. The simulation results show that the FL based MPPT can track the MPP with better results as compared to the conventional (P&O) and (InC) algorithms in terms of accuracy, transient (speed) and steady (stability) responses by continuously adjusting the DC-DC duty cycle as a control parameter. A Matlab simulink toolbox and M-file have been used for the simulation and performance evaluation of the above-mentioned MPPT algorithms applied for the 150W BP SX150S solar PV module.

Design and implementation for a coin identification system 硬币识别系统的设计与实现

This paper proposes two methods to implement a coin identification system. The proposed methods have several advantages, such as good identification accuracy, simple hardware configuration, and easy extension. Method 1 uses a single winding high-frequency sinusoidal voltage exciting method. By injecting a fixed-amplitude, fixed-frequency sinusoidal voltage, the exciting current, which is related to the impedance of the winding, can be detected. By measuring the amplitude and phase between the input voltage and current, the coin feature can be identified and then a `true' or `fake' coin can be determined. Method 2 uses a square-wave voltage exciting method. Two windings are used. The primary winding is connected to the square-wave voltage, and the second winding is used to measure the induced voltage. The induced voltage waveform of the secondary winding is varied as a coin passes through. By using Fourier analysis, the proposed system can determine the coin as a `true' or `fake' coin. The performance of these two methods is compared and discussed. Finally, a normalization technique of method 2 is discussed. By measuring the amplitude and phase between the input voltage and current, the coin feature can be identified and then a `true' or `fake' coin can be determined. Method 2 uses a square-wave voltage exciting method. Two windings are used. The primary winding is connected to the square-wave voltage, and the second winding is used to measure the induced voltage. The induced voltage waveform of the secondary winding is varied as a coin passes through. By using Fourier analysis, the proposed system can determine the coin as a `true' or `fake' coin. The performance of these two methods is compared and discussed. Finally, a normalization technique of method 2 is discussed. Cyclostationary and correlation based signal detection for harmonic radar systems 谐波雷达系统中基于周期平稳和相关的信号检测

In recent times, a significant interest in detection of nonlinear scatterers in various applications has appeared. One of these applications is detection of passive objects of artificial origin containing electronic circuits or other non-explosive elements incorporated into the firing train of hidden explosive hazards means. Prior research has shown that a single frequency RF signal is well suited to the task of illuminating such scatterers to excite their nonlinear response and commercially available devices based on this principle have appeared since the 1970s. However, this basic approach without any carrier modulation may limit efficiency of energy transmission to the nonlinear scatterer. Therefore, investigation of appropriate modulation schemes can reveal their potential benefits in harmonic radar detection systems. This paper presents an initial concept of novel detection method using binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) modulated signal for simultaneous detection of nonlinear scatterers with both quadratic and cubic characteristics. The use of BPSK signal brings interesting benefits to the fundamental detection of components at multiples of the carrier frequency and, at the same time, allows achieving significant reduction of transmit signal power at the carrier frequency. The proposed algorithms use cyclostationary features of linear digital modulations along with correlation based processing in some parts and are implemented using MATLAB.
