Micro-doppler effect analysis of single bird and bird flock for linear FMCW radar 线性FMCW雷达单鸟和鸟群微多普勒效应分析

The oscillating and swinging parts of a target observed by radar cause additional frequency modulation and induce sidebands in the target's Doppler frequency shift (micro-Doppler). This effect provides unique features for classification in radar systems. In this paper, the micro-Doppler spectra and range-Doppler matrices of single bird and bird flocks are obtained by simulations for linear FMCW radar. Obtained range-Doppler matrices are compared for single bird and bird flock under several scenarios and new features are proposed for classification.

A novel low complexity feature extraction algorithm, only performing by a single comparison per pixel on the average during detection is proposed. While single-scale version of the algorithm remains quite efficient compared against the complexity of the state-of-the-art algorithms, a multi-scale version is also proposed to handle blur and scale changes. The performance tests on the repeatability of these keypoints signify the promising performance of the proposed algorithm to be used in many resource limited computer vision applications due to its efficiency and competitive repeatability performance.

Reversible video watermarking based on histogram modification of motion compansated prediction error 基于直方图修正的可逆视频水印运动补偿预测误差

In occluded areas conventional motion estimation techniques lead to high prediction errors. To reduce the prediction error, occlusion detection algorithms should be employed in motion estimation. This paper investigates the influence of the occlusion in a reversible video watermarking technique based on histogram modification of motion compensated prediction error and presents a new reversible video watermarking algorithm that has a better performance in occluded areas.

Reduction of crosstalk in stereoscopic displays 立体显示器中串扰的减少

This paper proposes a method for reducing crosstalk between right and left images displayed on a stereoscopic display. The underlying reason of crosstalk in stereoscopic displays is mainly due to the technological methodology applied in the display hardware. Lack of stereoscopic isolation between the left and right image pairs causes both images to be partly observed by each eye. This causes deterioration or even total loss in the observed 3D perception. The proposed study offers a method to reduce the observed crosstalk in real time and hence creating a superior 3D perceptual quality.

Salt and pepper noise reduction in images using adaptive fuzzy filter 使用自适应模糊滤波器对图像进行椒盐噪声抑制

In this study intended to salt and pepper noise in gray level digital image is reduced with adaptive fuzzy filter(ABF) method. Filtering process is realized in two stages. In the first stage, amount of salt and pepper noise has been detected in the image. In the second stage, noise is reduced by a filter that of coefficients are determined according to amount of detected noise from the image. ABF method has supported with standart median filter in order to increase recovery and this method has named median supported adaptive fuzzy filter(MDABF). The method has tested with different images and effective results were obtained from the images contain high level noise too.

The procedure to estimate brain activity based on fMR signals is a process based on many assumptions. Some of the methods such as GLM (General Linear Model) and ICA(Independent Component Analysis) used for this purpose contain several restrictions. In GLM, it is assumed that each active voxel responds similarly and linearly towards a given stimulus. In ICA, an unsurmountable number of independent time series are produced, one of which is assumed to reflect the activity pattern. In this study, we used minimal number of assumptions to estimate an underlying HRF (hemodynamic response function) from a given fMR time series, and then used the estimated HRFs to classify voxels as active or passive. We have investigated results from simulations and real fMR experiments.

Mimo channel capacity measurements Mimo信道容量测量

The channel capacity in the multi-antenna architecture depends not only on signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) but also the spatial correlation between antenna elements. In this study, in multi-antenna systems, measurements were made for 0.02λ receiving antenna spacing in a laboratory consisting of a full anechoic room, and the spatial correlation between far-field signals and the channel capacity was observed. We used the ray tracing method for the radio propagation channel modeling during this study. The test results showed high level of correlation between received signals in cases where one and two beams were effective as reflections even though the distance between the antennas was bigger than the wavelength. Furthermore, we observed that the channel capacity increased as the correlation between sub-channels increased.

Early diagnosis of osteoporosis using Artificial Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines 基于人工神经网络和支持向量机的骨质疏松症早期诊断

In the last decade, osteoporotic fractures became one of the most serious problems in public health. The life risk of suffering of an osteoporotic fracture is estimated to be 30% for 50 years old and in postmenopausal period woman. Early diagnosis is quite important for osteoporosis. A fall can be easily result in a fracture; these are common in the hip, at the neck of the femur, the wrist and the spine, if it's not treated sequences on time. Be inspiring from this problem we aimed to build up an image processing method for helping to early diagnosis. In this study we obtained features via wavelet transform from Computerized Tomography images. Classification is achieved by Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Support Vector Machines (SVM). As a result for ANN, we accomplished 70% correct osteoporosis classification from early period images. SVM classification increased the accuracy and we have reached up 86% correct classification. These successful results make a significant contribution to early diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Channel estimation for a wireless communication systems with chirp carriers 啁啾载波无线通信系统的信道估计

In this paper, a new communication system that inherently enables the estimation of channel parameters by employing the fractional Fourier transform is proposed. The system uses chirp bases as carriers and two of these carriers are also employed as pilot signals without decreasing the capacity of the system. We make use of two important properties of the fractional Fourier transform which are related to time and frequency shifts to determine the time-delay and doppler frequency parameters. Moreover data is transmitted in a circular time-frequency area rather than a rectangular one.

Multispectral image fusion based on the Multiwavelet and IHS transforms 基于多小波变换和IHS变换的多光谱图像融合

This paper introduces a fusion method to merge the IKONOS low resolution multispectral image (MS) with the IKONOS high resolution panchromatic (PAN) image based on the Multiwavelet transform. Different fusion rules are used with the Multiwavelet method to improve the fusion quality based on pixel level fusion or feature level fusion. The best three old techniques for image fusion (IHS, Brovey, and Wavelet) are also tested in this paper. The performances of the existing and the proposed methods are calculated using Correlation Coefficient and Root Mean Square Error. Here we used our method to merge the panchromatic image of IKONOS sensor (1m resolution) with its multispectral image (4m resolution). Multiwavelet based image fusion method provides richer information in both spatial and spectral domains than the Wavelet based method, and the results clearly demonstrate the advantages of this approach.
