Six-port reflectometer with tunable parameters ensuring measurement accuracy enhancement 六端口反射计可调参数,确保测量精度的提高

A six-port reflectometer having tunable parameters, which can be adjusted to minimize the reflection coefficient measurement uncertainty, is proposed in this letter. The presented six-port has been theoretically analyzed, designed and fabricated. The measurements of reflection coefficients performed in the frequency range 2.2 – 2.6 GHz with the use of the developed six-port prove its enhanced measurement accuracy.

Distributed estimation of a parametric field under energy constraint 能量约束下参数场的分布估计

This paper studies the problem of distributed parameter estimation in wireless sensor network under energy constraints. Optimization formulas that guarantee the best estimation performance from the available energy are derived. The network consists of sensors that are deployed over an area at random. Sensors' observations are noisy measurements of an underlying field. Sensors have limited energy for the transmission process. Each sensor processes its observation prior to transmitting it to a fusion center, where a field parameter vector is estimated. Transmission channels between the sensors and the fusion center are assumed to be noisy parallel channels. The sensors' locations, the noise probability density function, and the field characteristic function are assumed to be known at the fusion center. This work presents two strategies that can be followed for optimal energy allocation:(1) Minimizing Cramer-Rao Lower Bound of the estimates with respect to energy allocation (2) Minimizing the sensors' observations transmission error with respect to energy allocation. Simulation results which support the optimization formulas are shown.

Novel concept of RF hardware for remote sensing technologies 遥感技术射频硬件的新概念

This paper presents a new alternative for design of modern hi-resolution remote sensing devices for application in consumer products. Near-field radars may perform security, bio or gesture detection tasks. New approach is especially introduced in prototype of system-on-chip (SoC) radar used as smart motion sensor embedded in TV set. Moreover, we focused mainly on critical issues of design: integration microwave RF circuits, ultra-low power consumption and low cost solution for mass product.

Future proof IoT: Composable semantics, security, QoS and reliability 面向未来的物联网:可组合语义、安全性、QoS和可靠性

IETF impressively defined internet interoperation across 30 years of unforeseeable syntax API. IOT needs similar future proof, but for connected things' composable semantics, security, reliability and Quality of Service (QoS). This paper overviews these with simplifying tradeoffs from a bottom up approach using Data Distribution Service (DDS). Then high level semantic additions to DDS are suggested for semantics that are backward compatible, while maintaining the security, reliability and QoS of DDS. Finally, further work is suggested toward out-of-the-box composability and interoperability between common IoT data models and compliant solutions.

Throughput improvement by cluster-based multihop wireless networks with energy harvesting relays 带能量收集中继的集群多跳无线网络吞吐量改进

In this work, we propose a cluster-based multihop relaying with partial relay selection (PRS) scheme for an energy harvesting (EH) relaying network. We analyze the performance in the framework of the decode-and-forward (DF) relaying with adaptive power splitting (APS) protocol over symmetric and asymmetric fading channel models. Through extensive numerical analysis, we show that the proposed scheme can substantially outperform the conventional multihop relaying approach without clustering. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme can compensate for the performance loss due to poor RF-to-DC conversion efficiency by exploiting the spatial diversity provided by the broadcast-oriented nature of the RF signal. It is also shown that the conventional belief that the multihop relaying networks over asymmetric fading channel achieve maximum throughput in Rician/Rayleigh fading environment (for source-relay link/the rest of the links) does not necessarily apply in the case of the proposed system.

Autonomous learning approach to characterizing motion behavior 描述运动行为的自主学习方法

Unattended falls can lead to serious medical issues among the elderly, especially when motor functions may become inactive. Motion sensors like accelerometer can aid in automatic characterization and classification of human motion. Un-Classified motion can be accounted for anomaly that when reported to the online knowledge builder can correct the existing model or estimate additional classes into that model. In this paper we develop an alert system using low power Intel Quark D1000 MCU that characterizes the motion behavior using Logistic Model Trees (LMT) and estimates an anomaly in motion behavior while augmenting the model using online learning. The goal is to build a useability model where an unclassified behavior (corresponding to accelerometer data) can be logged and upon additional intervention can be re-evaluated for re-classification. This will lead to autodetecting un-desired motion activities (like falls) and avoid false positives to activities of daily life.

Detector nonlinearity in Six-port radar 六端口雷达的探测器非线性

This paper presents an in-situ detector characterization and calibration method for differential I/Q Six-port radar systems. A separate calibration of the nonlinear detectors and the remaining linear RF front-end enables an independent analysis of errors caused by detector nonlinearity and by the measurement scenario. A linearity analysis of various detectors in Six-port radar systems shows the necessity of a detector calibration for accurate displacement measurements. The calibration is evaluated with three different Six-port based radar systems at 24 GHz in diverse measurement scenarios. An error reduction of up to 50% has been achieved.

Target localization using multi-static UWB sensor for indoor monitoring system 基于多静态超宽带传感器的室内监控系统目标定位

The ultra-wideband (UWB) radio sensor systems which can accurately detect a distance and behavior of a human target are recently attracted considerable attention for various applications such as elderly care monitoring and intruder detection. The UWB sensor can generally estimate the distance and motion informations by using a monostatic-placed antenna. With the sensor, it is impossible to identify an accurate location (e.g. indoor and outdoor) of a target, because the sensor measures only the distance between the antenna and the target. In this paper, we propose a human target localization method using an UWB sensor with multi-static placed antennas. The method can estimate not only a distance and a motion of the target but also a position of the target. We investigate the localization performances by computer simulations and discuss effectiveness of our proposal.

In this paper a six-port reflectometer to be included in a near-field microwave microscope (NFMM) is presented. The reflectometer, made of five couplers based on non-uniform and offset parallel-coupled transmission lines, is proposed to achieve a broad frequency band [2-20 GHz], corresponding to the frequency range of the interferometer based NFMM. It becomes then possible to replace the vector network analyzer classically used in NFMMS.

This paper presents the design of a Dickson charge pump circuit paired with a compact, multi-resonant loop antenna for RF energy harvesting at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz. It enables the RF harvester to operate efficiently both indoors and outdoors. A prototype design using surface mount components is simulated using ADS. It achieves a sensitivity of −21.2 dBm and −17.1 dBm at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz, respectively. The simulated Vout >1 V is achieved in < 60µs. The prototype design, including antenna, requires an area of 55.9×38.1 mm2.
