Assessment of Sea Water Intrusion in Muthupettai Block Muthupettai区块海水入侵评价

Salt water intrusion into coastal aquifers is potentially a major problem in the coastal region of Muthupettai block in Thiruthuraipoondi taluk (Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu), hence in order to assess the vulnerability area, ground water study should be done. By the water quality variations sea water mixing index is assessed. Seawater mixing index is used to describe the vulnerability area and the extension of intrusion over the study area. Thematic maps of factors influencing the sea water intrusion were prepared and overlaid using Geographical Information System (GIS). By the vulnerability mapping, the suitable area for the remediation technique of sea water intrusion that should be practiced in the study area will be decided. Rain water harvesting and artificial recharge techniques are more useful as a tool in remediation of salt water intrusion. Estimation of surplus run-off is also very important in planning artificial recharge schemes.

Essence of Quality Control in Small Manufacturing Industry 小型制造业质量控制的本质

The SMEs are an important part for world economy. The various categories of SMEs are spread throughout the world. In some cases they are competing with the big companies and at some instances they are working as vendor for supplying their spare parts and ancillaries. But there is a severe problem regarding quality of the product produced by them. In this paper an attempt has been made to improve the quality of the product by the help of Quality Control. For this , a particular SME firm has been studied and analyzed in order to give a solution of the quality related problems.

Natural radionuclides of terrestrial origin have very long half – lives or driven from very long – lived parent radionuclides, which have been created in stellar processes before the earth formation. The study of natural radioactivity in marine and coastal environments is of significant importance for better understanding of oceanographic and sedimentological processes. The sampling sites are selected to cover randomly to cover the southern part. The soil samples have been collected in beach sides. In situ gamma measurements were conducted using a high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector (coaxial cylinder of 50.1 mm in diameter and 44 mm in length) with a relative efficiency of 50% and an energy resolution (FWHM) of 1.8 keV at the 1.33 MeV reference transition of 60 Co. The measurements shows that the values of the absorbed dose rates in air in the investigated area are lower than the recommended limit by the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effect of Atomic Radiation.

Seasonal Variations in Water Quality of Shipra River in Ujjain, India 印度Ujjain Shipra河水质的季节变化

Shipra River is a major river and is lifeline of thousands of people in Ujjain city and nearby areas. Shipra has been subjected to assault of the adverse impact of industrialization and urbanization. The problem has aggravated because of the uncontrolled flow of municipal and domestic sewers dumping directly into river. The present pollution loads also contributes a lot of toxic heavy metals of industrial area of Indore merged by Khan River water. Due to zero flow the river Shipra lacks the self purification scheme of rivers and streams. In this study the water samples are collected from five different Sampling zones at a distance of 3 Kms from each other. Various Variables are found in the Downstream of the river, co-relation between various Physico-Chemical variables are been calculated. This depicts tremendous pollution meters and drastic change in water quality of river water. The mixing of Narmada Water contributes in a slight restoration of water parameters and improves the quality of water.

Applications of Big Data in the Digital India: Opportunities and Challenges 大数据在数字印度中的应用:机遇与挑战

With the advent of Social Networking Sites (SNS), volumes of data are generated daily. Most of these data are multimedia type and unstructured with exponential growth. This exponential growth of variety, volume and complexity of structured and unstructured data leads to the concept of big data. Managing big data and harnessing its benefits is a real challenge. With increase in access to big data repository for various applications, security and access control is another aspect that needs to be considered while managing big data. We have discussed area of application of big data, opportunities it provides and challenges that we face in the managing such huge amount of data for various applications. Issues related to security against different threat perception of big data are also discussed.

The Effects of SiC Particle Addition as Reinforcement in the weld Zone during Friction Stir Welding of Magnesium Alloy AZ31B 添加SiC颗粒增强AZ31B镁合金搅拌摩擦焊焊缝区的效果

Welding of magnesium alloys influence a great effect on magnesium application expansion, especially in marine and aerospace where large-size, complex components are required. Due to specific physical properties of magnesium, its welding requires great control. In general, the solid-state nature of friction stir welding (FSW) process has been found to produce a low concentration of defects. Mechanical properties of  friction stir welded joints are decreases than base material, so to enhance the mechanical properties of welded portion, In the present research additional SiC particulates were incorporated in the weld interface of friction stir welding of Magnesium alloy AZ31B. Silicon Carbide has been added as reinforcement by creating separate geometry, at the edges where the welding is interface with 4 different volume proportions such as 10%, 15%, 25% and 30%. Tool Steel of H13 grade has been used as friction stir welding tool. Rotational Speed of 1400 RPM and Transverse Speed of 25 mm/min were selected. Joined Mg Alloy AZ31B alloy plates were evaluated for their mechanical properties under two different conditions, i.e in the un-reinforced welded condition and reinforced welded conditions. The results of the study revealed that the mechanical properties of the SiC particulates added Mg alloy AZ31B welded joints are superior in all four proportions of SiC, compared to un-reinforced Mg alloy AZ31B welded joints. Microstructural examination of the welded joints was conducted using Optical microscope and revealed that distribution of SiC particles producing increased weld strength. The comparison of the microstructures and mechanical properties of unreinforced Friction stir welded AZ31 with those of SiC reinforced FS-welded joints showed that the addition of SiC particles decreased the grain size and increased the strength.

A Genetic Approach for Enhancing Recommender System’s Stability 一种增强推荐系统稳定性的遗传方法

With the growing scope of the E-commerce industry, a recommender system places a critical role in predicting correct entity to the user. Accuracy and degree of trust are most important parameters of a recommender system. Many recommender algorithms are proposed in the literature to enhance the accuracy of recommendations to the user. This paper is focused on enhancing the stability of recommender system using genetic and repetitive smoothening approach. Stability determines the degree of trust by the user to use the items recommended by a recommender system. SVD and slope one recommenders systems are used along with the proposed approach and it has been shown that stability is enhanced using the genetic-repetitive algorithm. Genetic approach has shown significant improvements in the field of research and is considered one of the robust techniques.

Effect of substrate geometry on oil sorption capacity of raw and chemically modified jute fibre 基材几何形状对原料和化学改性黄麻纤维吸油能力的影响

In this paper jute fibre was modified with three different chemical modification techniques namely acetylation using acetic anhydride, grafting using butyl acrylate monomer and fatty acid modification using oleic acid to increase the oil sorption capacity of the fibre. All the above modifications were carried out in fibrous as well as nonwoven form to study the effect of substrate geometry on oil sorption capacity. It was found that oil sorption capacity of the chemically modified jute fibres was higher than that of the raw fibres and in case of the chemically modified nonwoven it was much higher than the raw as well as modified loose fibres. Reusability of the modified substrates was also tested and it was found that all the substrates could be squeezed to recover oil and reused at least three times. Nonwoven fabric’s substrate geometry permits easy rolling-in and rolling-out of the fabric for the recovery of the oil from the surface of the water. Also these oil sorption-active materials being biodegradable can be used to substitute non-biodegradable synthetic materials in oil spill cleanup.

Performance of Combination of Texture and Object Based Techniques in Image Classification for Urban Land Cover 纹理与目标结合技术在城市土地覆盖图像分类中的应用

Satellite imagery paves way to obtain tangible information through remote sensing techniques.  It is necessary to classify the image in order to extract the features.  There exist various classification techniques and algorithms to retrieve various features from imagery.  As the technology development proceeds in a faster track it is necessary to compensate its advancements by developing new techniques for feature retrieval.  As far as high resolution satellite imagery are concerned object based feature retrieval and texture based feature retrieval techniques are gaining its importance.  The texture based feature retrieval has various techniques involved in it, among which Haralick’s texture parameters has much importance.  Thereby object based technique also has its own way of algorithms and processes for feature retrieval.  The eCognition software provides a platform for combining texture and object based technique.  It is well known from various journals that object based technique is best for classifying high resolution imagery.  Thus the image is primarily segmented into objects for classification.  The Haralick’s texture parameters which serve well in classification of urban land cover is chosen by computing statistical analysis.  Finally the chosen texture parameter is adopted in the classification of the objects.  The classified imagery is checked for accuracy and a high accuracy of 94.5% is obtained.

In spite, couple types of progress in advancements identifying with Tamil Optical character affirmation, handwriting continues hanging on as strategy for reporting information for ordinary life. The methodology of division and affirmation positions quiets a huge amount of troubles especially in seeing cursive physically composed scripts of different lingos. The thought proposed is an answer made to perform tamil character affirmation of composed by hand scripts in Tamil, a language having official status in India, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. The approach utilizes KNN Algorithm technique for seeing charted off cursive decrypted Tamil characters. The conflict of the structure is obvious as it can overwhelm the complexities develop out of content style assortments and winds up being versatile and solid. More elevated amount of precision in results has been obtained with the use of this procedure on a sweeping database and the precision of the results displays its application on business use.
