An Application Programming Interface for Advanced Analytics of Contextually Enriched Automotive Data 上下文丰富的汽车数据高级分析的应用程序编程接口

The amount of data generated by vehicles has increased in recent years. Automotive manufacturers employ data processing and analysis to gain insights from the data they collect from vehicles. Contextually enriching vehicle-generated data with information describing location, weather and traffic is a way to generate even more insights into driver behaviour profiling and transportation sustainability. As the contextually enriched automotive data is usually stored in big data storage platforms, a middleware solution is needed to provide an abstraction layer for the stored data. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are commonly used as a bridge between the data consumers and the collected data. This paper describes one such API for advanced analytics of contextually enriched automotive data. The collection, contextual enrichment and data model of the data offered by the API is shown, along with the APIs architecture and available functionalities. To show the usability of the API, two use cases from the automotive domain are demonstrated: (i) contextually enriched automotive data visualization; and (ii) eco-efficient driving pattern evaluation.

Anomaly Correction in Time Series Data for Improved Forecasting 时间序列数据异常校正改进预测

This paper presents a method for detecting and correcting anomalies in time series data. This method was tested on time series data of disk usage over a period of few months. For the method to be able to detect and correct anomalies, it has to calculate the difference of time series, find the mean value of transformed data and use it to set a threshold. Any point in transformed data that has a value higher than the threshold corresponds to an anomaly in original data. After an anomaly is found, data is transformed in such a way that all data before the anomaly is shifted by the value of the anomaly. By removing anomalies this way, trend and seasonality of time series are kept intact. Results show that time series forecasting performed on transformed disk usage time series produces better results than when the original data is used.

Using Approximation of Standard Deviation and Variance in Flow Features for Efficient Intrusion Detection 基于流特征标准差和方差近似的高效入侵检测

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are one of the most important defense tools against dangerous and sophisticated network attacks. In recent years high-speed network interfaces have become common in data centers and servers. To process such high-speed network traffic entirely, the feature extraction phase of an IDS must be highly efficient. The speed and overall efficiency of the feature extraction phase of anomaly-based Intrusion Detection Systems can be improved by substituting the exact values for standard deviation and variance with lower complexity approximations. This paper demonstrates that using range rule of thumb approximations instead of exact values does not affect the classification results of the model tested in its various configurations. The results show that the accuracy of the model output obtained using the approximations does not differ from the results obtained using the real values by more than 0.05%.

An Overview of Security Aspects of IoT Communication Technologies for Smart Agriculture 智能农业物联网通信技术安全概述

Wireless sensor networks, as the basis for the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm, become more and more used in different agricultural applications, enabling the development of smart agriculture concept. In such environment it is important to provide secure, reliable and energy efficient communications (both between sensor nodes and with remote central location). The paper focuses on analysis of security aspects of different communication technologies suitable for use in smart agriculture. Some suggestions for improving communication security are given. Also, possible use cases for secure communications in smart agriculture are explained. Finally, some conclusions and directions for future development are emphasized.

Investigation of the Relationship between Subjective and Objective Video Quality Metrics for Multiparty Video Calls on Mobile Devices 移动设备上多方视频通话主客观视频质量指标关系的研究

Today, various solutions and configurations exist for enabling audiovisual communications. One of the main driving forces has been the evolution of the technologies and APIs related to the open source WebRTC standards, enabling browser-to-browser real-time communication with built-in real-time audio and video functions without requiring any plugins. However, given the strict delay and high bandwidth requirements associated with video conferencing services, along with variable mobile network resource availability and limited mobile end user device capabilities, challenges arise in terms of setting and adapting video encoding parameters so as to achieve acceptable end-user perceived quality. In this paper, we extend our previous studies with further exploration of the impact of different video encoding parameters on perceived video quality. Furthermore, we focus on investigating the relationship between subjective video quality ratings and selected objective video quality metrics (namely blurriness and blockiness) to determine to what extent objective metrics correlate with subjective scores in the specific context of multiparty video calls on mobile devices. Our findings, reported based on the results of a user study (n=27), indicate that perceived video quality has very strong and strong correlation with objective blockiness and blurriness values, respectively.

Channel Emulation of Satellite-to-Ground APD-based FSO Link in the Presence of Atmospheric Turbulence Fading 大气湍流衰落条件下基于apd的星地FSO链路信道仿真

Free Space Optics (FSO) is emerging frontier technology in the field of ground-space communication that offers significant benefits in direction of expanding the information bandwidth. Wireless optical links are challenged by atmospheric weather processes and especially atmospheric turbulence, which is solely addressed in the current work. Considering atmospheric channel prototyping and turbulence simulations, laboratory characterization of FSO feeder links allowing tests of high-end components and technologies is carried out. In order to evaluate satellite-to-ground optical downlinks using a state-of-the-art APD receiver with Trans-Impedance Amplifier (TIA), self-developed FSO channel emulator implementing optical-fiber-based variable attenuator is utilized. Furthermore, the input scintillation data are modelled based on vast atmospheric radiosonde observation databases together with applying Log-normal and Gamma-Gamma FSO channel modelling. This leads to precise characterization of the used APD-TIA photodetector under test whose performance is measured with a high resolution oscilloscope and a bit error rate tester. Consequently, by means of this proof of concept, atmospheric scintillations and their negative influence over satellite-to-ground laser communication scenarios are evaluated without involving real near-Earth test campaigns.

Rapid Plant Development Modelling System for Predictive Agriculture Based on Artificial Intelligence 基于人工智能的预测农业植物快速发育建模系统

Actual and upcoming climate changes will evidently have the largest impact on agriculture crops cultivation in terms of reduced harvest, increased costs, and necessary deviation from the traditional farming. The aggravating factor for the successful applications of precision and predictive agriculture is the lack of big data, due to slow, year-round cycles of crops, as a prerequisite for further analysis and modelling. The goal of the system we propose is to enable rapid collection of data with respect to various climate conditions, which are artificially created and permuted in the encapsulated design, and correlated with plant development identifiers. The design is equipped with a large number of sensors and connected to the central database in a computer cloud. Such accumulated data is exploited to develop mathematical models of wheat in different growth stages by applying the concepts of artificial intelligence and utilize them for prediction of crop development and harvest. The paper presents a work in progress where the developed models will be publicly and interactively used through a portal for prediction of plant development in real and hypothetical climate conditions, with accumulated and archived feedback from farmers as additional data for tuning of the developed models.

The aggravating factor for the successful applications of precision and predictive agriculture is the lack of big data, due to slow, year-round cycles of crops, as a prerequisite for further analysis and modelling. The goal of the system we propose is to enable rapid collection of data with respect to various climate conditions, which are artificially created and permuted in the encapsulated design, and correlated with plant development identifiers. The design is equipped with a large number of sensors and connected to the central database in a computer cloud. Such accumulated data is exploited to develop mathematical models of wheat in different growth stages by applying the concepts of artificial intelligence and utilize them for prediction of crop development and harvest. Level Crossing Rate of Next Generation Wireless Systems with Selection Combining in the Presence of k-µ Fading and Interference: Derivation and Simulation k- μ衰落和干扰下选择组合下一代无线系统的平交速率:推导与仿真

In this article, level crossing rate (LCR) of new generation wireless communication system with selection combining (SC) receiver, with an arbitrary number of branches, will be evaluated. The received signal suffers from short-term fading and co-channel interference (CCI), where both are κ-μ distributed. SC receiver is used to reduce fading influence to the system performance. For described interference, LCR of the signal to interference ratio (SIR) at the output of SC receiver will be derived. From obtained expression for LCR, average fade duration (AFD) of the proposed telecommunication system can be calculated. The impact of fading parameters on the LCR will be analyzed. Thereafter, the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) accelerated simulation and linear optimization for planning an optimal 5G mobile network within a smart city will be implemented. This program provides significantly faster calculation of system performance, such as LCR, for the wireless channels under the influence of such defined obstructions.

Geometry from Thin Air: Theremin as a Playful Learning Device 来自稀薄空气的几何:特雷门作为一种有趣的学习设备

This paper presents a proof of concept of a playful learning device aimed at the enhancement of geometry knowledge acquisition for young children. A novel form of interaction through hand movement has been employed using a theremin-based device. Following a low-cost and energy efficient approach, the presented prototype consists of a digital CMOS ICs, 8×8 LED matrix and Arduino platform. Motivated by the possible IoT utilization in an educational context, a use case scenario has been presented demonstrating potential advantages for the improvement of users’ learning abilities and fine motor skills. This device could provide innovative ways for children to play and learn, fostering imagination while engaging them in STEM-related activities.
