Investigation of Information Literacy of Undergraduate 大学生信息素养调查研究

According to the information literacy ability standard of higher education formulated by Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), an information literacy questionnaire is designed. In terms of students' basic situations, cognition and selection of information sources, information query and acquisition, information management and application, information ethics and safety, and suggestions and opinions, the current situations of information literacy of the students from 65 universities in China are investigated. Based on the investigation and statistical analysis, this paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the current situations of information literacy education of college students. The effective suggestions for improving information training in Colleges and universities are putted forward, which could provide a basis for further research.
根据美国高校与研究型图书馆协会(ACRL)制定的高等教育信息素养能力标准,设计了一份信息素养问卷。从学生的基本情况、对信息源的认知与选择、信息查询与获取、信息管理与应用、信息伦理与安全、建议与意见等方面,对全国65所高校学生的信息素养现状进行调查。本文在调查和统计分析的基础上,全面了解了大学生信息素养教育的现状。提出了改进高校信息培训的有效建议,为进一步的研究提供了基础。

Online Teaching Platform Based on Big Data Recommendation System 基于大数据推荐系统的在线教学平台

The essence of big data education is the combination of network education and traditional education. The development of big data and Internet industry has brought new changes to the traditional learning model. The way to acquire knowledge is not limited to books and classrooms, and the Internet era is the era of information explosion, so the Internet has gradually become the most important channel for people to acquire knowledge. Therefore, the big data learning platform has gradually become a new mode of teaching adopted by schools. In the big data teaching mode, personalized recommendation system plays an indispensable role in online education.

Study on Online Teaching of "Rail Transit Passenger Transport Organization" Course in the Context of Epidemic Prevention and Control 疫情防控背景下《轨道交通客运组织》课程在线教学研究

During the epidemic prevention and control period, the Ministry of Education required "suspending classes without stopping school", the Ministry of Education decided to delay school start, and online teaching was put on the agenda. As various distance education teaching models are tried all over the country, this paper discusses research on online teaching of "Rail Transit Passenger Transport Organization" course. By analyzing the teaching environment, the paper selects appropriate course teaching methods, and conducts course content design and course teaching design in the context of epidemic situation. After teaching practice, from the aspects of teachers, students, teaching resources and teaching platform, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the process of online teaching and proposes recommendation for improvement. This paper analyzes how to carry out online teaching in epidemic environment, which is of great significance to the teaching in epidemic environment or similar environment, and can provide reference materials for other similar situations.
疫情防控期间,教育部提出“不停课不停学”要求,教育部决定推迟开学,网络教学提上日程。随着各种远程教育教学模式在全国范围内的尝试,本文对《轨道交通客运组织》课程的在线教学进行了探讨。通过对教学环境的分析,选择合适的课程教学方法,在疫情背景下进行课程内容设计和课程教学设计。通过教学实践,从教师、学生、教学资源、教学平台等方面分析了网络教学过程中存在的问题,并提出了改进建议。本文分析了疫情环境下如何开展网络教学,对疫情环境或类似环境下的教学具有重要意义,可以为其他类似情况下的教学提供参考资料。

The Application of TED Talk Strategies in Freshmen Library Orientation Lecture TED演讲策略在新生图书馆迎新讲座中的应用

Freshmen library orientation lecture (FLOL) can assist students to capitalize on the library's resources and services. FLOL faces a variety of problems, such as two- dimensional and unappealing teaching mode. To improve the quality of FLOL in Xiamen University library (China), this research employed TED talk's strategies (principles and skills), which include readers' demand as the main factor, and readers caring and library innovation as the theme to build an emotional bond between library and readers. The lecture was customized to fit the readers' needs. At the same time, the readers' needs were listed based on the KANO model. Lecture time was optimized with humorous teaching methods and several cases. Successful application of TED talk strategies in FLOL will attract students to the library, which is beneficial to university education.
新生图书馆迎新讲座可以帮助学生充分利用图书馆的资源和服务。外语教学面临着教学模式单一化、缺乏吸引力等诸多问题。为了提高厦门大学图书馆对外开放的质量,本研究采用TED演讲的策略(原则和技巧),以读者需求为主要因素,以读者关怀和图书馆创新为主题,建立图书馆与读者之间的情感纽带。讲座是根据读者的需要量身定做的。同时,基于KANO模型对读者需求进行了分类。通过幽默的教学方法和几个案例来优化课堂时间。成功地将TED演讲策略运用到图书馆教学中,将会吸引更多的学生到图书馆学习,这对大学教育是有益的。

Using Efl Youtube Videos as Supplementary Resource for Teaching Vocabulary: A Case Study in Secondary Education 利用英语Youtube视频作为辅助词汇教学资源:以中学教育为例

This study aimed at using EFL YouTube videos as a supplementary resource for teaching vocabulary in the classroom. It was carried out in public institutions of eighth grade of basic education in Ecuador. The participants were 150 Spanish native speakers who were divided into an experimental group (75 students) who received English lessons with EFL YouTube videos, and a control group (75 students) who did not use this resource. Also, 4 pre-service EFL teachers and 4 university teachers participated. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used and students' questionnaires, tests, observation sheets and surveys were applied. The methodology involved 16 English lessons in which pre-service students were in charge of preparing activities that included the use of EFL YouTube videos with the purpose of enhancing learners' vocabulary. It was found out that EFL YouTube videos as a supplementary resource make classes more productive since they increase interaction and make learners feel engaged and motivated to learn vocabulary.

onyxRay: A Mobile-Based Nail Diseases Detection Using Custom Vision Machine Learning onyxRay:使用定制视觉机器学习的基于移动的指甲疾病检测

Nails serves as a great way to discover several underlying systemic diseases of a person. There are different nail abnormalities that are associated with systemic diseases. The objective of the study is to utilize mobile camera that will allow users to capture of nail. Through this, the application will suggest several systemic diseases found based on the uploaded nail image by the user. The methods applied in this study includes the use of Custom Vision API that process images to analyze certain nail abnormalities. This study concludes that systemic diseases can be identify through nail abnormalities, so that the proponents developed an application that will analyze a fingernail image and will provide systemic diseases suggestions.

Deep learning of facial embeddings and facial landmark points for the detection of academic emotions 深度学习的面部嵌入和面部地标点,用于学术情绪的检测

Automatic emotion recognition is an actively researched area as emotion plays a pivotal role in effective human communications. Equipping a computer to understand and respond to human emotions has potential applications in many fields including education, medicine, transport and hospitality. In a classroom or online learning context, the basic emotions do not occur frequently and do not influence the learning process itself. The academic emotions such as engagement, frustration, confusion and boredom are the ones which are pivotal to sustaining the motivation of learners. In this study, we evaluated the use of deep learning on FaceNet embeddings and facial landmark points for academic emotion detection on a publicly available dataset - DAiSEE that has been annotated with the emotional states of engagement, boredom, frustration and confusion. By modeling both the spatial and temporal dimensions, the results demonstrated that both models are able to detect incidences of boredom and frustration and can be used in the moment-by-moment monitoring of boredom and frustration of learners using a tutoring system either online or in a classroom.

Efficient Recommendations for Improving Quality of Teaching: Face to Face, Distance-Learning, and Learners with Disabilities 提高教学质量的有效建议:面对面、远程学习和残疾学习者

This work encompasses a number of brief, general and specific recommendations to deal with several and usual educational problems: disadvantaged students, lack of confidence, inequity and inequality in education, inadequate assessment, students demotivation, the improper use of Information and Communication Technologies for Education (ICTE), barriers to accessibility of disabled student to distance-learning platforms. We endeavour to shed light on some weak spots for better exploitation and smooth running of e-learning and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). And, we address problems of assistive technologies and accessible learning environments for the benefit of learners with disabilities (LD). In detail, we study in depth many proposals as constructivism in education, corrective feedback, gradation in teaching, and game based learning. Further, we investigate in detail many proposals as the integral involvement, performance of MOOC platforms, the variety of pedagogical activities, feedback for MOOC's assessment, and peer assessment. At the end, we give recommendations about adaptation of distance-learning platform to learners with disabilities, and discuss the implementation of Universal Design for Learning and Instruction to increase the integration of learners with disabilities (LD) and improve their e-accessibility.

Loukili","doi":"10.1145/3411681.3411697","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1145/3411681.3411697","url":null,"abstract":"This work encompasses a number of brief, general and specific recommendations to deal with several and usual educational problems: disadvantaged students, lack of confidence, inequity and inequality in education, inadequate assessment, students demotivation, the improper use of Information and Communication Technologies for Education (ICTE), barriers to accessibility of disabled student to distance-learning platforms. We endeavour to shed light on some weak spots for better exploitation and smooth running of e-learning and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). And, we address problems of assistive technologies and accessible learning environments for the benefit of learners with disabilities (LD). In detail, we study in depth many proposals as constructivism in education, corrective feedback, gradation in teaching, and game based learning. Further, we investigate in detail many proposals as the integral involvement, performance of MOOC platforms, the variety of pedagogical activities, feedback for MOOC's assessment, and peer assessment. Optimization of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Colleges and Universities -Based on the Perspective of Triple Helix Theory 基于三螺旋理论视角的高校创新创业生态系统优化

Innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities is a significant guarantee for building an innovative country. With reference to the triple helix theory, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, and establishes an ecological system of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities with spontaneous coupling and collaborative interconnection among different subjects, giving full play to the resource convergence advantages of "government-industry-university" pattern, and gathering the helix development force. It also proposes measures such as constructing the whole process of innovation and entrepreneurship education system in colleges and universities, building diversified incubation platforms for innovation achievements, establishing financial support system for innovation and entrepreneurship, and leading the development of internal and external symbiotic innovation and entrepreneurship culture, etc., to explore the optimization path of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in colleges and universities.
高校创新创业教育是建设创新型国家的重要保障。参考三螺旋理论,分析高校创新创业教育的影响因素,构建不同学科间自发耦合、协同互联的高校创新创业教育生态体系,充分发挥“政产学研”模式的资源集聚优势。并聚集螺旋展开力。提出了构建高校创新创业全流程教育体系、构建多元化创新成果孵化平台、建立创新创业金融支持体系、引领内外共生创新创业文化发展等措施。探索高校创新创业生态系统优化路径。

Monitoring of Peripheral Vascular Disease Using Neuro-Fuzzy Algorithm and Wireless Body Sensor Network 利用神经模糊算法和无线身体传感器网络监测周围血管疾病

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is a cardiovascular disease that mainly affects the arms and legs. Left untreated, PVD can result in heart complications and eventually death. As such, a novel method of non-invasively monitoring PVD has been devised. The developed system makes use of a wireless body sensor network that obtains electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmography (PPG) signals from the patient in real-time. The sensor readings are then converted to their equivalent blood pressure readings, which are then evaluated by neuro-fuzzy logic and the computation of the patient's Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP). Under the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the estimated and actual values for systolic and diastolic blood pressures, two-tailed t-tests were run on the two datasets under a 95% confidence interval and a critical t-test value of +/-1.985. The computed t-test values from the statistical treatment were -1.10195 and -1.4675. Since both values were below critical, the null hypothesis is accepted for both tests, which means that the fabricated prototype is a suitable alternative to commercial devices when it comes to helping monitor and diagnose PVD.
