The urgency of the issue under study is due to the need for a comprehensive study of groups that are in a foreign ethnic environment. The aim of the article is to study the peculiarities of sociocultural development and attitudes towards the issues of education and health protection of the Gypsy population living in the Zelenodolsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan. The principal approach to the study of that issue is the polyparadigmatic methodology. The article is written on the materials of a field study conducted in the summer of 2016 in the Zelenodolsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan in areas densely populated by Gypsies. The authors conducted a series of interviews with both local residents and representatives of the Gypsy enclave. The article describes an attitude of the Gypsy population to the educational process as a socialization tool for children, and addresses the issues of maintaining the health of the Gypsy population. Particular attention is paid in the article to the fact that the issues of children’s education are not a priority for the Roma population of the study area; and issues related to health protection are significantly different from those of the local population. The position of the local population in relation to the Gypsy enclave is analyzed. The existence of a pronounced cultural distance between the host population and the Gypsies is substantiated. It was concluded that the development of strategies for the integration of the Gypsy people enclave into the local community depends on the support of the initiatives put forward by local residents and the administration, by a majority of the representatives of the camp. The materials of the article may be useful for ethnologists, social and cultural anthropologists, political scientists, as well as representatives of bodies and structures responsible for issues of interethnic and interfaith contacting.

The article deals with various aspects of on the reproduction of young people’s ethno-cultural identities in the contexts of everyday family practices, ethno-religious education and peer group interactions within a wider multiethnic environment. The focus is on the problems of harmonizing the regulatory require- ments of the family and the wider socio-cultural environment of the multi-ethnic region, within which ethnic constructions are redefined. Actualization of behavior model occurs in the process of realizing all the barriers and resources that are signif- icant at a given time. One of the factors that determine the family practices of main- taining traditional culture and personal adaptation in foreign cultural conditions is the involvement in social networks, migration plans, and intra-family careers. At the same time, the problem of reconciling different regulatory requirements of the family and the social environment is most clearly manifested in the space of gender roles and regimes. In addition, in multi-ethnic and multi-confessional communi- ties, the confessional aspect of the “friend-foe” opposition is clearly manifested in everyday interaction with pear groups, and ethnic identity, based on the ideas of one’s own people, traditions, lifestyle, character and behavior of others, is the basis for the formation of interethnic relations among young people.

V. Ledeneva
The article analyzes the conflict-generating factors of migration processes in the Far Eastern Federal District, which affect not only changes in the demographic composition of the population, but also form new interethnic relations, which have recently been most often perceived by the local popula- tion negatively and acquire a conflict-generating connotation. A feature of the migration processes in the Far Eastern Federal District is the fact that the inflow of migrants occurs against the background of the incessant outflow of the local population of Slavic origin. Such shifts in the structure of the population lead to a deterioration of the socio-economic situation and interethnic conflicts, in which both external migrants and the local population are involved. Formed migration trends require an integrated approach to the regulation of migration, which cannot be provided with only one program for the resettlement of compatriots in the Far Eastern Federal District. Unfortunately, the absence of any other state programs in the field of migration does not exist today, which sig- nificantly complicates the already tense situation in the region. Special emphasis in the article is made on the sphere of interethnic relations and social adaptation of migrants. The lack of attention of the regional authorities to solving these problems poses a threat not only to national, but also to the cultural and social security of society. The author offers recommendations on the effectiveness of the policy in the field of interethnic relations and the adaptation of migrants.

The article discusses an issue of the formation and transformation of the traditions, customs and rituals that contributed to the formation and development of the spiritual and material culture of that people in different historical periods, as reflected in the literature of the Nenets people. It is noted that the ethnocultural self-identification, the revival of the traditions of the past should not be carried out without their deep scientific understanding, which includes the research of literary critics. Nenets writers and poets reflected diverse social reality, highlighted the tragedy of a person in transition. On the basis of the contextual analysis of the works of Nenets authors, the development of the folklore, epos and ethnographic material the article reveals the originality of ideological attitudes, the symbols of the actions of heroes, features of a national character. The study conducted a search for an answer to the question of what rituals are the customs and traditions of the people due to such binary oppositions as humility / aggression, kindness / cruelty, perseverance (persistence) / pliability (pliability, gentleness)? An explanation of the negative behavior of the heroes of the novels by Vasily Ledkov, the short novels by Anna Nerkagi and other Nenets authors is found through the approach to understanding the nature of violence proposed in the works of the French scientist Rene Girard. The study used historical, cultural, psychological, social, comparative methods. Examples from works of the Khanty, Nenets and Dolgan literatures are presented.
