Introduction: Â Regarding the prevalence of tic disorders in children and their psychological burden, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment to psychological flexibility and perfectionism in mothers of children with tic disorders. Materials and Methods: The statistical population of this study included mothers of children with tic disorder who referred to Ibn-e-Sina Psychiatric Hospital and Astan-e-Mehr Counseling Center in Mashhad city in 2019-2020. Amongst them, 30 mothers were selected through the convenient method of sampling. Then they divided into experimental and control groups randomly. Both groups completed Hills Perfectionism Questionnaire and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to analyze the data. Results:Commitment and acceptance-based therapy has a significant effect on increasing psychological flexibility (P=0.001), and reducing perfectionism (P=0.000). Conclusion: It seems that commitment and acceptance-based therapy is an effective method to improve psychological flexibility, and reducing perfectionism in mothers of children with tic disorders.

Introduction: According to the prevalence of eating disorders among youth population and their disturbances in various fields, the present study examined the relationship between social anxiety, body image perception and depression with bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa in young people. Materials and Methods: The sample includes 200 freshman male and female students of Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Khuzestan in academic year of 2014-2015 who were selected multi-level randomized method. They responded to Eating Disorder Inventory (AEDI) of Coker and Rogers, Leibowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), Beck Depression Inventory and Fishers Body Image Perception. Canonical correlation coefficients were used for statistical analysis. Results: Canonical coefficients obtained in this study were 6.0 (P<0.0001). The results show that the first set of variables and a second set of variables had a significant relationship with each other so social anxiety, perceived body image and depression were predictors for bulimia and anorexia. Depression of the first series showed the highest correlation with anorexia nervosa of the second set. Conclusion: It seems that social anxiety, perceived body image and depression can be considered as predictors for bulimia and anorexia in youth population.

Introduction: Child abuse remains a significant public health and social problem in developing countries. Studies on this subject could provide valuable information regarding the scope and nature of this phenomenon and its impact on public health. This study aimed to determine the demographic characteristics and risk factors of children and parents involved in subtypes of child abuse in a psychosocial support department. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in a pediatric hospital in Bandar Abbas, Iran from 2011 to 2013. The understudy population consisted of 519 child abuse cases that had been referred to psychosocial support departments for further investigations. Data regarding demographic characteristics and risk factors were collected using a questionnaire. Data analyzed through descriptive statistics, Logistic regression and SPSS software version 16. Results: From the total, 315 (60.7%) were boys and 355 (68.4%) were under 6 years. A total of 152 (29.3%) parents had mental disorders. The most common type of abuse in children was neglect (77%). Physical abuse was more commonly done by working mothers. Study results also revealed that physical abuse was less prevalent among children of less educated mothers and fathers. Physical abuse was also more common among children of parents with mental disorders and single parent families. Conclusion: This study showed that demographic characteristics of the child and parents and some related risk factors have a significant effect on child abuse subtypes.

Introduction: Bullying is a form of low-level violence in the school environment that if unnoticed to become dangerous forms of violence occurs. The aim of this study was examining the relationship between anxiety, stress and depression and female adolescents' suicidal thoughts with the meditating role of the victim of bullying. Materials and Methods: This study is descriptive and has used the correlation method. For this purpose in the academic year 2016-2017, 300 students of high school girl students (seventh and eighth grade) of public schools of Pakdasht city were selected by random cluster sampling method and they filled in the suicidal thoughts, anxiety, stress, depression and victim of bullying questionnaire. For data analysis, Pearsons correlation method and structural equation modeling were used by using SPSS-19 and LISRELV8.80 software. Results: Pearsons correlational results showed that there is a positive and meaningful relation between anxiety, stress, depression and victim of bullying with suicidal thoughts (P0.01). Also the victim of bullying variable has a meditating role in relation among research variable and all of the direct and indirect effects of anxiety, stress, depression and victim of bullying on suicidal thoughts are meaningful.  Conclusion: The results indicate that anxiety, stress, depression along with victim of bullying in female adolescents cause suicidal thoughts therefore preventing and reducing the risk at schools is absolutely necessary.

Introduction: Present study is aimed at investigating the effectiveness of psychodynamic psychotherapy on the personality characteristics of divorced and non-divorced women with low marital satisfaction. Materials and Methods: This clinical research conducted in the clients referred to Khane Roshan-e-Doost Psychological Studies Institute. They are evaluated clinically through interviews and questionnaires. So, 45 patients selected and divided in three equal groups of divorced women, non-divorced women (married) with low marital satisfaction, and control group. Then, the groups of divorced and non-divorced women with low marital satisfaction participated in 24 sessions of psychodynamic psychotherapy. To collect data, Cattel’s 16-item questionnaire and Enrich marital satisfaction questionnaire were used. Data analyzed through multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). Results: The results of this study indicated that training of psychodynamic psychotherapy caused a significant change in personality traits in divorced women and in married women with low marital satisfaction. Only in factor B (intelligent low intelligence) and factor Q1 (conservatism) there was no significant difference between experimental and control groups. The results of correlation between personality factors and low marital satisfaction pointed that there is a significant relationship between all factors of personality except the factor of conservatism. Conclusion: Based on the results, psychodynamic psychotherapy is effective in significant improvement of most of personality traits. Therefore, applying this method can be useful in improving marital personality traits, reducing divorce and maintaining mental health.
