How to Find if a Single-Board Computer Loses Audio Samples in an Isochronous Data Transfer via USB 如何找到如果单板计算机失去音频样本在通过USB同步数据传输

This work deals with the issue of loss of samples in a data acquisition process using an audio capturer device connected to a low cost and consumption single-board computer via USB interface. A question that may arise in this kind of hardware is if it can acquire data from the device avoiding an overrunning buffer. A method for finding lost samples is presented that is based on the acquisition of a linear frequency modulation signal and the analisys of its discrete Fourier Transform. An example illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Design and Implementation of a Network Based on Multipath TCP of Local Production 基于多路径TCP的本地生产网络的设计与实现

In the developed research we present a local production network designed and implemented with Multipath TCP, to improve reliability through redundant links. In particular, the MultiPath protocol was evaluated, which improved the performance and increased the solidity against possible faults in one of the routes. MutiPath TCP conventional and MultiPath TCP were implemented with integration of name-based sockets. The capture procedure and the analysis fields were: data flow, bit rate, protocol type, source IP address, destination IP address, sent bytes, received bytes, start time, source port and destination port. The Argus software was used to monitor network traffic on the server and the client. The implementation of the MultiPath server was performed on the Ubuntu 15.04 Linux platform, and the Wireshark tool to capture protocol data units. For the implementation of conventional MultiPath TCP an average transfer rate of 54.86Mbps was obtained and when it was integrated into the MultiPath TCP communication with name-based socket integration, an average transfer rate of 60.89Mbps was obtained, so optimization for the second case is around 10%. It has been proven that the production network works correctly and with better performance.

Estimation of Angular Speed and Park Matrix from Resolver Position Sensor Signals without Using Trigonometric Functions 不使用三角函数的旋转器位置传感器信号的角速度和停车矩阵估计

Resolver is an angular position sensor widely used in electric/hybrid vehicles and robotics. However, estimating the angular position and speed from resolver outputs is as difficult task. Most algorithms in literature use trigonometric functions to estimate the angular position. However, these functions are difficult to implement, especially in FPGAs. On the other hand, in speed vector control of three-phase motors, the angular position is only used to estimate the mechanical speed and Park transformation matrix. This paper presents a simple technique to get the mechanical speed and Park matrix without calculating trigonometric functions and without estimating directly the angular position. Filtering and synchronous demodulation allows obtaining the sine and cosine of the angular position, while the compensation of the delay produced by filtering and the estimation of the Park matrix are done using simple trigonometric properties and taking advantage that the number of pole pairs is an integer number. Experimental results show the accuracy of the proposed approach.

An Automatic Control System Using the S7-1200 Programmable Logic Controller for the Ethanol Rectification Process S7-1200可编程控制器在乙醇精馏过程中的自动控制系统

A proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller for ethanol rectification in an eight-section column was developed to obtain a high-concentration product. A comparative analysis among different mathematical models was conducted to find an optimal model to control the temperature of a rectification column’s first plate. The PID controller was designed using a computational optimization method and implemented on an S7-1200 programmable logic controller. Furthermore, the operation in the ethanol rectification column was evaluated.

A New Method to Fault Localization in Long Transmission Lines Considering Synchronized Sampling 考虑同步采样的长传输线故障定位新方法

This work explain a method of fault location in time and space domain for long transmission considering distributed parameters in the line model, also the method is based on Telegrapher’s equations and its solution by the method of characteristics. The development of the method considers transmission lines with two terminals and the inclusion of GPS for synchronized measurements of voltage and current values in both ends, thereby showing the improvement in accuracy and speed compared to traditional methods. To verify the method, it was simulated with different faults in different locations overcoming in that way the limitations of traditional algorithms developed so far.

Peruvian sign language recognition using low resolution cameras 秘鲁手语识别使用低分辨率相机

The recognition of sign language gesture through image processing and Machine Learning has been widely studied in recent years. This article presents a dataset consisting of 2400 images of the static gestures of the Peruvian sign language alphabet, in addition to applying it to a hand gesture recognition system using low resolution cameras. For the gesture recognition, the Histogram Oriented Gradient feature descriptor was used, along with 4 classification algorithms. The results showed that Histogram Oriented Gradient, along with Support Vector Machine, got the best result with a 89.46% accuracy and the system was able to recognize the gestures with variations of translation, rotation and scale.

Woven Antennas Fabrication: Conductive Linen and Conductive Cloth Technologies Comparisons 编织天线制造:导电亚麻和导电布技术比较

The development of woven antennas will enable novel applications in communications, sensing and safety, due to its inherent features such flexibility and textile-integration. For these reasons, this technology has attracted the attention of academic and industrial communities. However, there are still some factors hindering its extensive use. The aim of this paper is to compare woven antennas using two different technologies exploring the reasons that hinder its application. The technologies tested are: conductive linen and conductive cloth. The woven antennas are designed using a microstrip-design approach and simulations as starting base-line. In both linen and cloth technologies, the manufactured antennas observe variability in its return loss caused by bending (flexiblility) of the antenna body that also contributes to an imperfect connection with feeding cables. The manufactured conductive cloth antennas observe similar results as its corresponding microstrip pairs. On the other hand, conductive linen antennas yield larger bandwidth than expected and more resonances of |S11|. Thus, they can be potential candidates for applications with multi-band specifications.

These such of diseases can produce long-term disabilities, and the three most critical congenital anomalies are heart defects, neural tube defects, and Down syndrome (DS). Ecuador is a country with a high prevalence of DS, since 1 out of every 700 children born with this disease. On the other hand, worldwide, the number of children born with DS is 1 per 1,000. For these reasons, in this paper, we present a technological tool aimed at supporting the school curriculum for children from 6 to 12 years with DS. This tool relies on a low-cost robotic assistant, a mobile app, and a module to suggest educational activities for the children. With the aim of determining the children’s response to the robot as well as to the mobile application, we have conducted a first pilot experiment with 21 children (without disabilities). Each of the participating children interacted with the system, and after this activity, they responded a survey. The initial results have shown that children are very interested and motivated to perform educational activities with the robot.

This document presents the study of the impact generated in rehabilitation therapies in children with disabilities by using interactive tools created with Kinect for the application of therapies in the Child Neurodevelopment Area of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) - Cuenca, where the areas of special education, early stimulation, language therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy converge. The development of serious games constitutes tools that break schemes of a linear therapeutic process, since it involves the knowledge of the professional with the interaction of "learning while playing", thus achieving the desired objectives in therapy.
