People, Development and Tannery: Where lies the essential mistake? 人、发展和制革厂:根本错误在哪里?

Industrial Development commonly creates an ambience of better employment opportunities, better lifestyle, skill development, education, higher GDP, economic development, increased imports, development of technology and so on. But in reality, what it creates is not just limited to it. Every industry from the essential industries such as of iron and steel to the energy-based industry like Thermal power plants to the manufacturing industries like textiles, inspite of being essential, still cause problems concerning environmental to human society.  This article attempts to an in-dept introspection of the leather industry and its allies from a perspective of economic development, health, environment and human development in the city of Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Inspite of the fact leather Industry is one of the major sources of foreign exchange and employment, it has nevertheless unintentionally created employment insecurity, reduced skill development in the population, made the population dependable and poverty-stricken and intentionally harmed the environment that includes land, air and water eventually adversely affecting agriculture and health of the population in the nearby regions.

Exploration of Novel Therapeutic Strategies for the Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus 糖尿病治疗新策略的探索

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disorder in which the body does not produce enough or respond to insulin normally, resulting in an abnormal increase in blood glucose levels. 90% of diabetes cases in pregnant women are gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). It is known that fluctuations in the level of glucose and its irregularity led to disturbances in the health of both mother and fetus.The therapeutic strategies and options for the treatment of gestational diabetes are highlighted in this review. We havereviewed medicinal plants used in the treatment of gestational diabetes. Literature review indicates that medicinal plants are effective in treating osteoarthritis and have been clinically and scientifically proven. Natural medicines have been the subject of chemical studies and many plants are the subject of clinical trials. Their results are remarkable and significant. However, scientific exploration for bioactive constituents is becoming increasingly important and their mechanisms of actions to treat GDM are still ongoing.

Enhancing Livelihood: A Case of Cycle-Rickshaw Pullers in Amritsar city. 改善生计:以阿姆利则市的三轮车夫为例。

In India, the livelihood of rickshaw pullers is in a worse state where they have to face severe climatic conditions, poverty, and social values as well as the economic values of the society. This research paper will try to identify the effective socio-financial reasons for rickshaw pulling. The detrimental consequences of their fitness of pullers and the issues confronted with the socio-economic and personal measures both had been additionally taken into consideration. This study article is based mostly on the statistical data which were collected from the primary survey and the personal interview in the form of the direct questionnaire sent to respondents in Amritsar city. This survey was executed at some key junctions or major intervals in February and March 2019. The studies concluded that although rickshaw drivers are counted as the salient members of the underprivileged community, they hold important positions in the intercity public transport system. The running surroundings are neither regulated nor are their social protection problems forwarded. They are generally uninformed approximately of the government schemes neither release relief for their poverty nor do their availability of fundamental services likewise their poor centralinfrastructures.

Effect of Time and Temperature on the Proximate and Sensory Parameter of Roasted Beef (Suya) 时间和温度对苏亚烤牛肉近似参数和感官参数的影响

In this study, different time and temperature effect were examined on the proximate and sensory parameter of roasted beef (suya). The proximate composition, and sensory evaluation (appearance, tenderness, juiciness, flavour and overall acceptability) of the meat roasted using different time and temperature were assessed. Two kilograms of beef-round from a freshly slaughtered cow was used for the study. The meat was trimmed, cut into small pieces weighing 250g was cured manually with experimental ingredients before roasting with Century Electric Oven at different time that is 40, 50, 60 and 70 minutes at temperature of 250, 230, 210 and 1900C respectively, with groundnut oil sprinkled intermittently.Key Words: Time, Temperature, Effect, Proximate, Sensory, Parameter, Roasted Beef (suya)

Tourism in a National Park is a best gift for nature lovers as they see the great and diverse vegetation, dense forest, river side area, seasonal rivers, natural sot, small hills areas, large chour (grassland) and most adventurous is to see the wild animals in their natural habitat, their different activities and behaviour.This motivates tourist for wild animals conservation. Jim Corbett National Parkis the oldest National Park famous for its diverse flora and presence of wild mammals, big carnivores, and herbivores like spotted deer (Axis axis) and Sambar deer (Cervus unicolor).Tourism  gives a big revenue every year to the Government of Uttrakhand unlike gypsy safari that affects the Park animals for eight hours by 480 people every day by vehicle sound, tourist noises, camera and mobiles sound in capturing photos and making videos. It affects the alertness of deers, sometimes they want food items from tourists or show fear from tourists. So it may cause many changes in their behaviour and it becomes a serious problem for their population.

Urban biodiversity conservation a basic concept of sustainable urbanism: a systematic review 城市生物多样性保护:可持续城市主义的基本概念

Delhi is a highly urbanized city in India. The rapid increase in population and unplanned development of infrastructure within the built-up environment is continuously damaging the urban and peri-urban green spaces of Delhi. Our modern indoor bound lifestyle is distancing us from the natural world. Through this paper, we have tried to review the possible contributions of both blue and green infrastructure on the urban environment and also on the wellbeing of the urban dweller. In continuation, this review article provides an interdisciplinary overview of the scientifically grounded knowledge on urban biodiversity and conservation, how it benefits urban ecosystems through their services, and finally integration of urban biodiversity into urban planning. At the outcome, knowledge gaps and opportunities for future research under the theme “Green Urbanism” has been critically reviewed.   Key words: Conservation, Ecosystem services, Human health, Urban Biodiversity, Urban green

Climate change impacts on agriculture dominated Canadian watershed 气候变化对以农业为主的加拿大流域的影响

Agricultural water management plays a vital role in the food production and food security(Abbaspour, et al. 2007).Improper management of agriculture leads to local or far field water quality.Runoff from an agriculture land is considerably enriched with different kinds of nutrients, sediments, and pesticides. Nutrient loadings carried with the runoff has caused eutrophication to various degrees and scales, from small and large bays around the Great Lakes (e.g., Green Bay in Lake Michigan) to wide-scale eutrophication in some of the Great Lakes themselves (e.g., Lake Erie)(Inamdar, S.  and Naumov, A. 2006)..Water quality and watershed management programs are highly benefitted from simulation models since the advent of computer-based watershed models( Daggupati et al. 2018). To this extent, present study used Soil and Water assessment Tool (SWAT) to investigate the climate change impacts on nutrient loadings primarily occur from runoff from a Canadian agriculture dominated watershed. We found that non-point source pollutants especially total N and total P originating from agriculture land is decreasing during mid and late century projections. Streamflow during winter and fall is projected to increase compared to historical period. Keywords: SWAT modeling, climate change impact, non-point source pollution

Nutrient loadings carried with the runoff has caused eutrophication to various degrees and scales, from small and large bays around the Great Lakes (e.g., Green Bay in Lake Michigan) to wide-scale eutrophication in some of the Great Lakes themselves (e.g., Lake Erie)(Inamdar, S.  and Naumov, A. 2006)..Water quality and watershed management programs are highly benefitted from simulation models since the advent of computer-based watershed models( Daggupati et al. 2018). To this extent, present study used Soil and Water assessment Tool (SWAT) to investigate the climate change impacts on nutrient loadings primarily occur from runoff from a Canadian agriculture dominated watershed. We found that non-point source pollutants especially total N and total P originating from agriculture land is decreasing during mid and late century projections. Pre and post Vulnerability of Floods to Mental Health Among the Residents of Srinagar City, J&K-India 查谟克什米尔-印度斯利那加市居民洪水前后心理健康脆弱性研究

Health effects occur directly through contact with flood waters or indirectly from damage to infrastructure, ecosystems, food and water supplies or social support systems. They can be immediate or can appear days, weeks or months after the floods have receded. Two thirds of flood related deaths worldwide are from drowning and one third from physical trauma, heart attacks, electrocution, carbon monoxide poisoning or fire. The main of this paper was to assess the Pre and post vulnerability of floods to mental health among the residents of Srinagar city. For the collection of primary data, sample of 200 respondents were randomly selected from various areas of the Srinagar city. A well structured questionnaire was employed for collecting primary data. The study reveals that Maximum number patients were found during post floods (974). During pre floods out of the total 418 patients, maximum were found in the month of July (116 patients) followed by August (107 patients). However in post floods out of 974, maximum cases were found in January (281 patients)  followed by march (273 patients). Females were found more vulnerable in both cases but in pre flood  62 percent females were found exposed to different mental health problems which increased to 77 percent after floods of September, 2014. Thermal efficiency analysis of buildings with phase change materials. 相变材料建筑热效率分析。

Increasing global temperature is alarming the need for construction industry to have thermally efficient building materials. Incorporating Phase Change Materials (PCM) in buildings is widely accepted method for reduction in temperature, thereby achieving better thermal efficiency. This paper focuses on the assessment of thermal performance of PCM-incorporated building under tropical climatic condition. The simulation process was carried out using Design Builder Software and the developed building model is validated with the results available in the literature. A parametric study is also performed in order to identify the effect of different parameters like building orientation, window to wall ratio, ceiling height and construction material on the indoor air temperature. The results showed that the maximum reduction was up to 2.76°C. Keywords- Thermal Efficiency, Tropical climate, PCM

Demolished building waste management: a review 拆卸建筑废物管理检讨

Construction and demolition waste are the major issue as a direct consequence of increased global urbanization. It impacts the environmental efficiency of the construction industry, contributing to 35% of the global landfill. This research considers the two main fundamental factors affecting the demolished building waste management, which are the management hierarchy including the 3R strategies and the project life cycle and management tools. The inappropriate treatment and disposal of Construction and demolition waste give rise to the environmental pollution, land price, and natural resource consumption. This paper scrutinizes the concept of Construction and demolition waste management and review the extant studies in the managerial areas of Construction and demolition waste. These findings are aimed at clarifying the current and future practices of Construction and demolition waste management practices with an understanding for the sustainable governance.
