Objectives: To analyze the effect of multidisciplinary collaboration in the treatment of skin lesion wounds caused by Gottron's disease of elbow in a patient with amyopathic dermatomyositis. Methods: A multi-disciplinary team of rheumatologists, orthopaedicians, nutritionists and wound therapists are formed to cooperate in patient disease control, wound debridement, wound bed preparation and surgically sutured the wound of joints. Results: The right elbow wound of the patient healed in 47 days and the left elbow wound healed in 74 days. Conclusions: Multidisciplinary cooperation can take care of patients in an all-round way, reduce wound pain and wound healing.

1. Case Report A 58-years-old female suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) since 2018 underwent induction chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). The diagnosis of SLE was based on: photosensitivity, malar rash, arthritis of the hands, positive antinuclear and Ro (SSA) antibodies. She was on remission receiving no medications. The treatment protocol of AML consisted of intravenous infusion of cytarabine plus daunorubicine. The patient, on day 11 developed erythematosus plaques on the dorsal and palmar surfaces of the hands, as well as a bullous skin lesion on the middle phalanx of the third finger on the left hand (Figure 1A: upper insert photo) and transverse white lines on the nails (Figure 1A: lower insert photo). An Immunological work-up was ordered to ruleout a flare-up of SLE which was unremarkable.

Multiple Symmetric Lipomatosis (MSL) or Madelung’s disease is a rare disorder of the lipid metabolism characterized by symmetric growth of sometimes massive unencapsulated fatty deposits (lipomas) in anatomical regions ranging from typical sites such as neck, occipital area, upper arms, face, abdomen and back to the more unusual involvement of the scrotum and the tongue. In this article we present the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in a patient developing an acute oligoarticular attack of gout generating important functional incapacity, alcoholic liver disease potentially evolving to liver cirrhosis, heart and kidney failure, bilateral parotid gland region swelling and Madelung disease. The recognition and screening for potential complications related to the Madelung disease is of great practical importance because treatment priorities should be stratified accordingly.

Osteoarthritis of the knee is a common condition in the elderly. However, active participation in sports and trauma may also lead to premature osteoarthritis. This case report looks at a 60 years old woman who had severe osteoarthritis of her knees and what treatment options were helpful for her.

In recent years, chiropractic therapy over the spine has become a popular alternative treatment for headache, neck pain and backache. While not denying its effects in a selected group of patients, it also has its inherent list of side effects. This case report looks at a 72-years-old woman who complained of dizziness for three days after undergoing continuous chiropractic spinal manipulation therapy for her chronic back pain for two weeks.
