Visible Light Technologies for the Industrial Internet of Things 工业物联网的可见光技术

Sensor networks for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) have become a widespread research topic in recent years, and various technologies have already been proposed and applied for this purpose. The focus of this work is on visible light technologies for localization, sensing, and communication, also known as Visible Light Positioning (VLP), Visible Light Sensing (VLS), and Visible Light Communication (VLC), respectively. The potential of these technologies is discussed with respect to the requirements in sensor networks for IIoT applications (Industry 5.0). Further, an outlook is given on challenges and open topics for future research.

Navigating the Cyber Frontier: Youth Capabilities to Confront Dis/Misinformation with Digital Literacy and Digital Security 导航网络前沿:青年通过数字素养和数字安全应对错误信息的能力

The internet serves a variety of functions for youth, including learning, socialization, entertainment, and access to news and information. Youth also have a lot of possibilities to be exposed to threats that occur online such as dis/misinformation and other risks. Dis/misinformation can be considered insecure communications if it compromises the integrity or authenticity of the information. This research aims to explore youth digital literacy competencies, news literacy, and digital security skills, especially how it could help them minimize dis/misinformation. This mixed-method research used a focus group discussion of youth aged 18–22 and a survey for data collection. The result shows that youth have sufficient digital literacy competencies especially on information literacy, computer literacy, media literacy, and visual literacy, but they should improve communication literacy. Their news literacy capability is also adequate for filtering news and finding trustworthy sources. Their actions when encountering dis/misinformation include filtering the content, double-checking credible sources or official accounts and mainstream media, looking for the first post, also comparing the information from many sources. For capability in digital security, they are quite capable of protecting themselves especially in setting secure password, privacy and location setting, and sharing setting.

MCDA Approaches for Automatic Tool Selection in a Cloud-Based Online-CADCOM Platform 基于云的在线 CADCOM 平台中自动选择工具的 MCDA 方法

The paper examines a cloud-based Online-CADCOM platform integrating multiple available online computer-aided design (CAD) tools. When using it, an expert or a decision-maker needs to choose an appropriate CAD tool (software platform). The task involves a large number of evaluation criteria for tool selection, which build a decision-making space. In this space, a number of alternatives must be evaluated and classified (arranged) according to their importance, for assisting the user (student or designer). The paper diversifies the decision-making methods for tool selection that can be implemented in Online CADCOM. A specific multiple-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) method, ensuring in this way the optimal context- and situation-awareness is considered. Applying different approaches, tool selection is illustrated in the benchmark example of analog filter design. The obtained results confirm the feasibility and advantages of including different methods for automatic CAD tool selection in the Cloud-based Online-CADCOM Platform.

In-Flight Logic Analysis on OPS-SAT OPS-SAT的飞行逻辑分析

Nothing is perfect. Even carefully developed hardware components can sometimes exhibit unexpected behaviour. This is even more likely in harsh environments, like the one satellites are exposed to. However, on satellites hardware analysis is limited to the data obtained by a constrained set of integrated sensors. Therefore, only expected failure cases can be traced, or only indirect monitoring is possible. In this paper, we present an adaptable way to analyse hardware in the field, to solve this problem. Our approach was implemented in-flight on ESA's OPS-SAT satellite, where such an unexplainable fault was noticed. Fortunately, OPS-SAT contains a reconfigurable Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) allowing a logic analyser functionality to be implemented. Thereby, any signal present in the FPGA fabric becomes traceable, including all externally connected ones. Here, we describe the implementation, its deployment and the successful execution on the OPS-SAT satellite. Using the captured traces, we performed an in-depth analysis of the erroneous behaviour. Our understanding is, that this is the first time such a technique has been implemented on a flying spacecraft. We hope to encourage in-field adoption, especially in-space FPGA reconfiguration, to drive future innovation.

Digitalization in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT) will also change and heavily influence the possibilities in the industrial environment. However, in order to realize corresponding wireless sensor networks, conventional technologies can reach their limits, which is why light-based approaches have also attracted increased interest and been investigated in recent years. In the present work, the application of Visible Light Sensing (VLS) is investigated for a frequently occurring task in industry. A rotating shaft is to be monitored online in a non-contact manner with respect to its rotational speed as well as operational distortions that can occur over time. VLS provides possibilities for a corresponding low-cost sensor system of low complexity, which in addition can be implemented in a simple way into the existing lighting infrastructure. The performance of this approach was tested and proven experimentally under varying conditions.

A Practical Teaching Tool for Optical Camera Communications 光学相机通信实用教学工具

Optical camera communication (OCC) is a rapidly growing research field within optical wireless communication (OWC) technologies that uses light-emitting diodes and cameras to provide wireless communication between devices in the visible light spectrum. Its growth has been propelled by the extensive availability of digital cameras in the consumer market in the form of smartphones, navigation cameras, surveillance systems, and others. Therefore, training new students with the necessary skills to apply and develop this technology is essential. This paper presents a practical teaching tool for the field of OCC aimed at students in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in electronics, telecommunications, and computer engineering. The tool is an interactive demonstrator of the OCC technology based on open-source hardware and software that is easy to reproduce and adjust. The workflow for presenting the tool covers the basic principles of OCC, including modulation techniques and image acquisition and processing techniques. As a core part of the class, students are given hands-on experience with OCC equipment to test the technology in a didactic way. This paper provides a resource for educators interested in adopting experimental learning into their courses on OWC.

Energy Optimization of a Base Station using Q-learning Algorithm 基于q -学习算法的基站能量优化

A sleep strategy with several sleep mode (SM) levels for energy-efficient 5G base stations (BS) is proposed to reduce energy consumption. Energy consumption and Quality of Service (QoS) management are paired as a result of awakening sleeping BSs. Advanced Sleep Modes (ASMs) gradually deactivate BS components to save energy. Based on component transition times (deactivation and activation), different SM levels could be considered. This research proposes a Q-learning based approach for ASMs to present an optimal tradeoff between energy consumption and QoS.

Tackling Trust and Scalability of the Blockchain-Based Shared Manufacturing Concept 解决基于区块链的共享制造概念的信任和可扩展性

This paper explores the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize the manufacturing industry through the concept of shared manufacturing. The Blockchain-based Shared Manufacturing concept envisions a decentralized platform that facilitates trustless and efficient collaborations between manufacturers and consumers. While this approach addresses several challenges associated with traditional manufacturing and supply chain management, it also faces issues related to establishing trust among participants and addressing challenges with blockchain scalability, including transaction throughput, privacy, and interoperability. This paper presents an analysis of these challenges and proposes potential solutions, including horizontal scaling via layer 2 solutions and parallel chains, and the use of social graphs, NFTs, and Self-Sovereign Identity for trust and reputation management. By addressing these challenges, the shared manufacturing concept can transform the manufacturing industry, paving the way for a more efficient, transparent, and secure ecosystem.

Determining Resource Utilization in Cloud Systems: An Analytical Algorithm for IaaS Architecture 确定云系统中的资源利用:一种IaaS架构的分析算法

Cloud systems have become a key element in today's ICT systems. One solution in this area is to build systems based on IaaS architecture, in which user-dedicated virtual machines are created on available physical devices. When building such systems, it is essential to ensure optimal utilization of individual resources such as RAM, disk, processor, and available bandwidth while limiting their overuse, which can negatively impact the machine's lifespan. Moreover, it is crucial to avoid situations in which some parameters are underutilized while others are highly loaded. Therefore, the authors have developed an analytical algorithm to determine the average utilization of individual component resources of the system during its operation. The proposed analytical algorithm's results were compared with the results obtained through digital simulation of a cloud system based on the IaaS architecture. The proposed algorithm can successfully optimize the system design to ensure appropriate utilization of all its components in the future.

Approach to QoS Prediction Leveraging Impact of Beaulieu-Xie Fading and κ-µ Co-Channel Interference on SC Diversity Receiver Outage Probability 利用beaulieuo - xie衰落和κ-µ同信道干扰对SC分集接收机中断概率影响的QoS预测方法

In this paper, we analyze the outage probability ($P_{out}$) at the output of a multi-branch diversity receiver using selection combining (SC) in a wireless environment disturbed by Beaulieu-Xie (BX) fading and k-µ co-channel interference (CCI). BX fading model contains features of Rician fading model as well as Nakagami-m fading model giving thanks to the flexible fading parameters which enable inclusion of both, the line of sight (LOS) and the non-LOS (NLOS) components of the transmitted signal. Expressions for the probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) for the output signal-to-co-channel interference ratio (SIR) are derived. After that, the numerical results for $P_{out}$ depending on the SIR for different values of fading and CCI parameters are presented and their impact to $P_{out}$ is examined. Finally, we make use of the derived expression for outage probability as one of the inputs within classification-based fading-aware Quality of Service (QoS) prediction model and evaluate it using our simulation environment. For purpose of implementation, we rely on Weka API in Java.
