La relacion entre Espana y Francia a partir de 1661 revistio un interes particular a causa de la confluencia de dos fenomenos: el fin de la hegemonia hispanica y la extincion del valimiento en ambas coronas. Esto ultimo dio paso al restablecimiento del gobierno personal, primero en Francia, en marzo de aquel ano, y luego en Espana, en noviembre. En el caso espanol, menos conocido que el frances, Felipe IV llevo a cabo esta restauracion no solo, ni principalmente, por la necesidad de emular a su sobrino Luis XIV, sino, recurriendo a la tradicion de su propia historia y dinastia, con el objetivo de incluir este modo de gobierno en el legado del futuro Carlos II, consciente de que la persistencia del valimiento en Espana con un rey nino haria inviable la Monarquia. Abstract The relationship between Spain and France from 1661 has a particular interest owing to the coincidence of two political phenomena: the end of the Hispanic hegemony and the abolition of the favouritism in both countries –and consequently the restauration of the personal rule, first in France, in March 1661, and then in Spain, in November. The Spanish case is less known but is very interesting. Philip IV decided to restore the absolute government not only to emulate his nephew Louis XIV, but above all to guide the future rule of his son, Crown Prince Charles, according to the historical tradition of the Habsburg dynasty. The ultimate goal of Philip IV was to avoid the weakening or even the disappearance of the Spanish Monarchy during the Royal minority of Charles II –a four-year-old child in 1665.

La dimension religiosa de la revuelta de las Comunidades de Castilla (1520-1521) es a menudo ignorada entre los historiadores. No obstante, importantes estudios se han dedicado a las dimensiones mesianicas y profeticas de la revuelta. Este articulo se ocupa de analizar otros aspectos que permiten reconstruir una dimension religiosa de la revuelta y sus formas de legitimacion a partir de ella. En primer lugar, se analizara el papel del termino Santa para referirse a la Junta que reunia a las ciudades rebeldes. En segundo lugar, se destacara el rol del juramento en la construccion de la revuelta en el contexto de intentar «sacralizar» o «consagrar» la accion de los rebeldes. Por ultimo, se examinaran distintos testimonios que colocan a la eucaristia como un aspecto de lucha y legitimacion en la revuelta. De esta manera, pueden subrayarse algunos elementos religiosos de las Comunidades de Castilla. Abstract The religious dimension of the revolt of the Comunidades of Castile (1520-1521) is not always remarked by historians. Only messianic and prophetic aspects are normally pointed out in this sense. This paper analyses other problems for a religious dimension of the revolt and their relation to comuneros’ legitimation’s attempts. Firstly, it analyses the role of the term «Holy» (santa) to refer to the Junta where the rebelled cities were gathered. Secondly, it remarks the function of the oath in the construction of the revolt trying to «sacralise» or «consecrate» the action of the rebels. Lastly, it examines different testimonies that emphasises the Eucharist as an aspect of struggle and legitimation during the revolt. Then, some religious elements of the Comunidades of Castile can be remarked.

Los Infortunios de Alonso Ramirez es una biografia, escrita casi al dictado por el erudito mexicano Carlos de Siguenza, que narra las aventuras de un criollo de Puerto Rico que abandona su patria y se traslada sucesivamente a Cuba y Nueva Espana, hasta llegar en 1684 a las Islas Filipinas. Embarcado en una fragata espanola, es capturado por la nave corsaria inglesa Cygnet , donde como cautivo asiste a las operaciones piraticas de sus captores en el Sudeste de Asia hasta la disolucion de la sociedad criminal en aguas brasilenas. El relato de Alonso Ramirez sirve para ampliar nuestros conocimientos sobre el Pacifico y el Indico a finales del siglo XVII y se convierte asi en una aportacion singular a la historia del imperio espanol en Asia e incluso a la historia universal en la epoca de la primera globalizacion, que algunos autores llaman rotundamente la epoca de la globalizacion iberica. Abstract Infortunios de Alonso Ramirez is a biography, written by the Mexican author Carlos de Siguenza, that tells the adventures of a criollo born in Puerto Rico, who travels to Cuba, New Spain and, finally, in 1684, to the Philippine Islands. On board of a Spanish frigate, he is seized by the Cygnet, an English privateer ship, where, as a captive, he attends the piratic actions of the seamen in South East Asia until the end of the criminal society in the Brazilian coast. This narrative helps to enlarge our knowledge about the Pacific and Indian Oceans at the end of the XVIIth century, so becoming a meaningful contribution to the History of the Spanish Empire in Asiaa and even to the World History in the times of the first globalization, that some authors openly call the times of the Iberian globalization.

Esto ultimo dio paso al restablecimiento del gobierno personal, primero en Francia, en marzo de aquel ano, y luego en Espana, en noviembre. En el caso espanol, menos conocido que el frances, Felipe IV llevo a cabo esta restauracion no solo, ni principalmente, por la necesidad de emular a su sobrino Luis XIV, sino, recurriendo a la tradicion de su propia historia y dinastia, con el objetivo de incluir este modo de gobierno en el legado del futuro Carlos II, consciente de que la persistencia del valimiento en Espana con un rey nino haria inviable la Monarquia. EnglishAbstract The relationship between Spain and France from 1661 has a particular interest owing to the coincidence of two political phenomena: the end of the Hispanic hegemony and the abolition of the favouritism in both countries –and consequently the restauration of the personal rule, first in France, in March 1661, and then in Spain, in November. The Spanish case is less known but is very interesting. Philip IV decided to restore the absolute government not only to emulate his nephew Louis XIV, but above all to guide the future rule of his son, Crown Prince Charles, according to the historical tradition of the Habsburg dynasty. The ultimate goal of Philip IV was to avoid the weakening or even the disappearance of the Spanish Monarchy during the Royal minority of Charles II –a four-year-old child in 1665.
