Teaching Advanced Business English Writing Skills in the Digital Environment 数字环境下的高级商务英语写作技巧教学

Due to the huge increase in written communication over recent decades, improving writing skills in foreign language has become one of the particularly important questions in ELT methodology. This paper elaborates on writing as one of the foremost communication skills in business context and investigates teaching models and techniques which can be efficiently employed in advanced Business English language courses in the digital environment. The aim of this paper is to propose some ideas on how to enhance learning and teaching writing skills particularly focusing on the online platforms which provide a rich variety of tools and resources for all participants in advanced Business English courses.

"Le numérique dans l’enseignement/apprentissage du Français Langue Professionnelle" “法语专业语言教学中的数字化”

Les manuels de français langue étrangère sont équipés actuellement d’outils numériques qu’ils soient des supports accompagnants comme les CDs et les DVDs ou des ressources en ligne. Pour les professionnels qui apprennent le français en vue d’intégrer le marché d’emploi, les supports numériques représentent l’accès aux situations authentiques et aux échanges dans les entreprises françaises. Notre analyse porte sur les ressources numériques qui accompagnent les manuels de français professionnel, le critère de sélection étant les indications des auteurs, figurant dans les titres, dans l’avant-propos ou dans l’introduction des ouvrages. L’objectif de l’article est de montrer que le numérique représente un apport significatif à l’apprentissage/enseignement du français langue professionnelle.
法语作为外语的教科书目前配备了数字工具,无论是cd和dvd等辅助材料,还是在线资源。对于学习法语以融入就业市场的专业人士来说,数字媒体代表了在法国公司中真实情况和交流的途径。我们的分析集中在伴随专业法语教科书的数字资源上,选择标准是作者的指示,出现在标题、前言或引言中。本文的目的是表明数字技术对法语专业语言的学习/教学有重大贡献。

Das Übersetzen von wirtschaftlichen Fachbegriffen im internationalen Kontext 专门经济术语在国际范围内的翻译

Das Übersetzen ist eine individuelle Tätigkeit, die eine lexikalische, eine linguistische und eine semantische Fähigkeit des Übersetzers im Vordergrund stellt. Die Übersetzung hat eine kognitive, eine soziale und eine kulturelle Dimension. Der Übersetzungsprozess hebt verschiedene Schwierigkeiten auf. Die Übersetzungsschwierigkeiten sind verschieden und werden von den Erfahrungen und vom Sprach- und Fachwissen des Übersetzers geprägt. Im Falle der Fachbegriffe spielt die Verständlichkeit des Kontextes und des Fachbereichs eine entscheidende Rolle. Man unterscheidet auch sprachliche Normen und Konventionen der Zielsprache, wobei sich der Übersetzer mit Sprachkodes konfrontiert. Vorliegender Artikel befasst sich mit interlinguale Übersetzungsmodalitäten, die das Übersetzen von wirtschaftlichen Fachbegriffen im internationalen Kontext beeinflussen.

Dieser Beitrag behandelt die Forschungsfrage nach der Bedeutung der rumänischen Diakritika im Zusammenhang mit der neuronalen maschinellen Übersetzung mit „Google Translate“ (GNMT). Sind diese Zeichen noch wichtig, um korrekte bzw. verständliche Zieltexte zu erreichen? Haben die fünf rumänischen Diakritika bedeutungsdifferenzierende Aufgaben, so dass man sie im Ausgangstext bei maschineller Übersetzung nicht einfach ignorieren darf? Untersuchungen der Diakritika beim Übersetzen erbrachten einige erstaunliche und wichtige Ergebnisse, welche die Einbettung der Wörter in den Textzusammenhang in den Fokus rücken.

"The Impact of Interlingual Equivalence on Vocabulary Development. A Case Study on the Acquisition of Specialised (Technical) Lexis" 语际对等对词汇发展的影响。专业(技术)词汇获取案例研究

This paper explores the correlation between the use of several types of equivalence (e.g., linguistic, paradigmatic, semantic) for ELT purposes and the acquisition of terms and concepts pertaining to the fields of science and technology. It builds on previous research concerning the questionable use of interlingual equivalence (namely foreign language – mother tongue) when seeking vocabulary enhancement on the part of ELLs (English language learners). In order to gain significant insight, mixed research methods have been employed, most notably overt observation carried out among two groups of undergraduates (Architecture and Civil Engineering) paired with assessment strategies.

Watching Exercises for Teaching the Terminology of Clinical Procedures in English for Medical Purposes Classes 医学英语临床程序术语教学观察练习

Teaching the terminology of clinical procedures in medical English classes can be a challenge. However, by using video, which is an excellent tool for showing language in operation, medical students are more likely to understand, learn and be able to use words and phrases pertaining to this overspecialized terminology. The present paper gives examples of home-grown exercises for watching purposes that can be used in the course room, with a special focus on the language skills developed by each video-based teaching material.

Audiovisual Translators and the Skills Needed for this Profession in Romania 罗马尼亚的视听翻译和这个职业所需的技能

Translation is characterized by its internal interdisciplinarity (Mayoral, 2001: 65), so the audiovisual translation process requires specific skills from the translator, such as: an extraordinary facility for the foreign languages used, a developed visual sense, an excellent understanding of the rhythm, both of films, as well as of reading, but also a special ability to condense and know how to exclude conversation from different sections that are not crucial for comprehension (Ivarsson and Carroll, 1998: 1). This study particularizes and defines all these competencies and abilities stated above, which audiovisual translators in Romania have or consider necessary. To define them, we conducted questionnaires and interviews addressed to both translators and employers in which they classified the most important from their point of view.

{"title":"Audiovisual Translators and the Skills Needed for this Profession in Romania","authors":"Elena Laura Vulpoiu","doi":"10.59168/nvgt9985","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.59168/nvgt9985","url":null,"abstract":"Translation is characterized by its internal interdisciplinarity (Mayoral, 2001: 65), so the audiovisual translation process requires specific skills from the translator, such as: an extraordinary facility for the foreign languages used, a developed visual sense, an excellent understanding of the rhythm, both of films, as well as of reading, but also a special ability to condense and know how to exclude conversation from different sections that are not crucial for comprehension (Ivarsson and Carroll, 1998: 1). This study particularizes and defines all these competencies and abilities stated above, which audiovisual translators in Romania have or consider necessary.
