Comparison of Skype VoIP quality over 3G with mobility: A case study of fair usage policy effects Skype VoIP质量在3G和移动性上的比较:公平使用政策效果的案例研究

This paper presents a comparative study of VoIP quality over 3G networks, based on Fair Usage Policy (FUP) and Access Unlimited Internet Service (AUIS) provided by two main 3G operators using Skype and a form of mobility usage, defined as semi-dynamic tests. The tests were conducted on electric train called BTS Skytrain (Sukhumvit line). After gathering data of degraded speech files from the tests with Thai speech files, they were processed using a tool called Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality tool (PESQ) to obtain the values of Mean Opinion Score (MOS), whereas, data of major Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, consisting of loss, delay and jitter were also gathered. Then, it has been analyzed and found that VoIP quality has been impacted by FUP because QoS parameters and MOS tend to be worse than the values from AUIS.

Developing a part-time lecturer appointment notification system using UCD 利用UCD开发兼职讲师预约通知系统

This paper describes a part-time lecturer Appointment Notification System for use in the Curriculum and Instruction Development Division Burapha University. We developed software by using a UCD technique. We can reduce the errors in requirements gathering because in every step of the process the user will help us to confirm requirements. This article is presented in 6 parts: part one is the introduction and part two is a part time lecturer at Burapha University. Part three is about the tools used in the development of the information systems that include Open Source Software. Part four is about user-centered design (UCD). In part five we analyze a new system and compare it to with Burapha's existing system: HR (Personnel System) and TQF (Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education). And last part is about using UCD with software development and software installations.

Improving emotion classification in imbalanced YouTube dataset using SMOTE algorithm 利用SMOTE算法改进YouTube不平衡数据集的情绪分类

The imbalanced dataset problem triggers degradation of classification performance in several data mining applications including pattern recognition, text categorization, and information filtering tasks. To improve emotion classification performance, we use a sampling-based algorithm called SMOTE, which oversamples instances in a minority class to the number of those from the majority class. YouTube dataset was balanced using the SMOTE technique and tested using three machine learning algorithms, namely multinomial Naïve Bayes (MNB), decision tree (DT) and support vector machines (SVM). As a result, SVM achieves the highest accuracy with 93.30% on filtering task and 89.44% on classification. The SMOTE technique can solve the imbalanced data problem and obtain an improved classification result.

Automatically relation modeling on spatial relationship as self-adaptation ability 基于空间关系的自动关系建模,具有自适应能力

Self-adaptive system is a system that can take proper action automatically to reach its goal, based on the situation which occur at this system environment to meet satisfactory of its users. This paper would illustrate a case about self-adaptation function requirement in application tools that correspond to the requirement of graphic element adjustment function. One of the problems that can arise are related to connectivity function graphic elements, wherein when graphic elements associated with other graphic elements, elements of the relationship between the graphic elements can occupy the working area irregularly, even if there are other graphic elements that block the path relations, the relation element can penetrate into that graphic element. This condition has to rearrange by a user manually, so it is quite difficult and time consuming. Strategy that needed to overcome that problems, which must guarantee the availability of areas as working environment, as well as the appropriate decision-making mechanisms when determining an alternative option to connect between elements graphic automatically as self-adaptation ability. The solution for this problem, we propose strategy to automate relation space management of graphic element, as a result of an adaptation mechanism which more flexible and simplify users to do the job. Core concept that developed consist of two approaches namely free space management and neighbourhood modeling. These both concepts realised to polish up adaptation ability from tools limitation that exists at the current time.

Smart men tailoring dummy robot using DC stepper motor with RFID and fuzzy-PID control system 智能男人剪裁假人机器人采用直流步进电机,RFID和模糊pid控制系统

This paper presents a men tailoring dummy robot for developing a tailoring dummy robot technology. By using the RFID as a key element for accessing to command an adaptive men tailoring dummy robot to create the value add of the modern tailoring room services and also changes the customer's life styles of cloth suiting in the future. In particular this paper also studies the problems of detection tracking range of the RFID tag that is relatively with the robot data based system. This RFID tag is equipped by user via on wire line or Wi-Fi connection. The necessary data of user body size are included of the shoulder, chest, waist line and body height that were stored in RFID tag and read by RFID reader. The robot will be adjusting its shape automatically by fuzzy-PID controller via on DC stepper motors allowing the real user size to perform each of men tailoring dummy size who was selected to suit this cloth. The main advantage of fuzzy-PID control is that can be modify the mathematical model of DC stepper motor in the situation of implicit load with an effective tuning parameter to find the suitable gain control in practical to use. Finally, experimental results are revealed that the RFID data based software can work well and fuzzy-PID control can perform high performance with mat lab simulation but it must be improved for more accuracy and high precision results in any real test of men tailoring dummy robot situations.

A new feature selection based on class dependency and feature dissimilarity 一种基于类依赖和特征不相似度的特征选择方法

Feature selection method is an important task for data preprocessing in data mining. Before a classifier learns the training data, there are a lot of features in each data set that makes the learning process slower. It is not appropriated for big data analytics. This paper proposes feature selection method based on the class dependency and feature dissimilarity (CDFD) using mutual information and Euclidean distance. The mutual information is applied to determine the dependency between the feature and the class if the dataset contains discrete data. If the dataset contains continuous data, the correlation between the feature and the class is used instead. The Euclidean distance is used for reducing the duplicated features based on dissimilarity between features. The experiments are conducted on five datasets. From the experimental results, the propose feature selection method can reduce the number of features in the data set and reduce the classification error of classifiers. Furthermore, it can be applied to discrete and continuous data and it can help classifiers improving their classification accuracies and reducing the computational times for learning.

Color restoration of lighting scenes with locally adapted HDR images 用局部适应的HDR图像恢复灯光场景的色彩

Images of scenes illuminated by colored lightings are often degraded owing to the clipped whites and crushed shadows caused by the lack of dynamic range. Such degradation can be improved by introducing high dynamic range (HDR) images that can fully capture the brightness and color at a large bit-depth. Color appearance model (CAM) is widely used for accurately restoring colors, by replicating the property of human vision that can adaptively recognize colors according to the brightness within a local region. This local adaptation model, however, is inapplicable to lighting scenes where the spatial variation of brightness becomes large. We propose a method of combining such local adaptations separately applied for different regions on a single image. This method tries to restore the color of HDR images while retaining the global consistency of brightness variations. The effectiveness of our method is experimentally demonstrated for the indoor scene illuminated by a color LED.

The monitoring management system for tangible cultural heritage surveillance 物质文化遗产监测管理系统

Cultural heritage surveillance is a primary mission of provincial cultural center affiliated to the Ministry of Culture. Formerly, the center received damage notification via letters, hotlines or directly investigating the cultural heritage sites. Thus, it is not comprehensive, prompt nor in time. This paper proposes a collaborative management system for monitoring and reporting unusual cases to the relevant cultural center for investigation. Related evidences with the correct geolocation are informed by users and recorded to the system. The petitions then will be automatically reported to the responsible authorities for prompt examination. The overall operation for monitoring and statistics are also provided.

System development of commercial logo analysis on online social media 网络社交媒体商业标志分析系统开发

Social Network Analysis has becoming a new business recently. Many existing systems for social network analysis, however, are still limited to analyzing text. None of them analyzes the content of images that circulate on social media. In this paper we describe our effort in developing a system for analyzing the occurrence of commercial logos (company emblem). A photo-sharing social network is used as the source of images for analysis. An object detection and recognition algorithm is then applied to detect and recognize the occurrence of a logo in the retrieved images. The analysis of logo includes visualizing the trend of logo that has been posted over time as well as visualizing its spatial distribution over regions of interests. Our experiment on SIFT, SURF and PAST algorithms for detection and recognition of logo occurrence in image dataset reveals that the best performer is the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm. We also perform usability testing on the developed system. The results show that our system is effective, easy to learn & use as well as being helpful to users.

Impact of End System scheduling policies on AFDX performance in avionic on-board data network 终端系统调度策略对机载数据网络AFDX性能的影响

Ordinary aircrafts rely on point to point wire connection to transmit data. These wires add additional weight to the aircrafts and thus, the fuel cost is increased. Aircrafts released in recent years used AFDX protocol to transfer data within the aircraft. AFDX is a deterministic network transfer protocol used in aircrafts to ensure the quality of service (QoS) on the network and reduce the wiring needed. However, the specification of AFDX only defines the required performance without providing the methods to achieve it and hence there is a room for research. The motivation of this paper is to investigate and analyse impact of different scheduling policies of End System on the performance of a real avionic on-board data network running AFDX protocol.
