Development of a redox flow (RF) battery for energy storage 用于储能的氧化还原流(RF)电池的研制

The Kansai Electric Power Company has been engaged in the ongoing development of the redox flow battery (RFB) since 1985 in collaboration with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. The fundamentals and performance of RFB have been verified through field test projects such as the prototype 450 kW 2 h system and the advanced design 168 kW 8 h system installed in Tatsumi substation. Now RFB has total energy efficiency of more than 70% including inverter loss, etc., and RFB has been applied to a number of practical uses. Several RFB systems have been installed in a semiconductor factory (3000 kW for UPS), a university (500 kW for load leveling), and other locations.

This paper describes the electrical characteristics of an ultrasonic transducer through the results of experiments from the point of view of driving by inverter. In order to realize ZCS operation of the inverter, the characteristics of inverter are calculated using normalized numerical analysis. Optimized circuit design based on the experimental and numerical analyses is presented with consideration of switching stresses.

A new clew for research on PWM methods of multilevel inverters: principle and applications 多电平逆变器PWM方法研究的新思路:原理与应用

A novel clew for the research on carrier-based PWM methods of multilevel inverters is proposed in the paper, which is based on the concept Of combination of the control freedom degrees (CFD). As a typical application of the clew, a novel phase shift switching frequency optimum PWM (PS-SFO PWM) method is presented. Furthermore, the correlation between multilevel carrier-based PWM methods and space vector PWM (SVPWM) methods is established by theoretical analysis, by which the research on multilevel PWM methods can be included in the clew of the combination of CFD. From the clew, a simplified algorithm of SKPWM method for five-level cascade multilevel inverters is presented, which is equivalent to PS-SFO-PWM method. The correctness and the guiding significance of the proposed research clew for the research on multilevel PWM techniques is verified by the corresponding simulation results.

Experimental verification of line current detection type active filter combined with disturbance-observer 结合干扰观测器的线路电流检测型有源滤波器的实验验证

In this paper, we proposed a new control method for the AF to improve the harmonics compensation performance, in which the proposed control law is realized by the deadbeat control The disturbance observer is introduced to improve the harmonics compensation performance. By the estimation of the harmonics using the proposed disturbance observer, the compensation characteristics of the AF is very much improved. The deadbeat control can provide good current regulation without the calculation time delay. The current control is achieved by controlling the intermediate voltage of the inverter output filter so that the AF output current is regulated and the pulse width of the PWM inverter is determined by the deadbeat control law. The disturbance observer is effectively and stably realized by the proposed current regulation. As a result, the total harmonics compensation characteristics is much improved. The control method, mathematical analysis and the experimental results are presented in this paper.

Novel control for redundant parallel UPSs with instantaneous current sharing 冗余并联ups瞬时共流控制方法

A novel distributed control scheme for redundant parallel UPS with instantaneous current sharing is proposed. Current sharing based upon average current method is realized through the share bus interconnecting all the paralleled modules without extra control modules. The share bus consists of only three automatically averaged signals (no matter how many modules in parallel): inverter reference, sensed load current and feedback voltage. Current sharing control is decoupled from reference synchronization control through local feedback of the averaged reference so that inertia of the system reduced greatly. As a result a fast dynamic response and an equal load current sharing capability is ensured, under linear or nonlinear load. System configuration and operation principle are presented while simulation and experiment results are given in detail.

Sensorless vector control of induction motor with stator resistance identification based on augmented error 基于增广误差的异步电机定子电阻辨识无传感器矢量控制

This paper proposes a speed sensorless vector control system of induction motors which is stable in regenerating region as well as motoring one. In speed sensorless vector controls of induction motors with adaptive observers, the speed identification system becomes unstable for the major part of the regenerating region. Moreover, it is pointed out that the stator resistance variation influences the speed identification. Thus, it is necessary to find an adaptive scheme which can stabilize the identification system in whole region. Although several methods have been proposed to stabilize the identification system, they discuss only on the design of the observer gain. In these cases, the following problems exist.. The design parameter is determined by trial and error. Resulting observer gain tends to violate stability of the observer. The induction motor is assumed to be at steady state. Therefore, the stabilization of the parameter identification should be improved by designs of identification laws. In this paper, to stabilize the identification system of the speed and the stator resistance, the augmented error is introduced, yielding the transfer function of an error system becomes "I". Next, an adaptive scheme for the speed and the stator resistance is proposed which stabilizes the identification system. Furthermore, the proposed adaptive scheme is simplified to reduce the amount of calculation. Finally, effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by experiments.

The power factor control system of photovoltaic power generation system 光伏发电系统功率因数控制系统

The photovoltaic power generation system has a great future as clean energy instead of fossil fuel, which has many environmental problems such as exhausted gas or air pollution. In a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system, a three phase inverter is used for the connection between the photovoltaic array and the utility. This paper presents a three phase inverter for photovoltaic power system with current controller, voltage controller, PLL control system and the phase detector of interactive voltage by using dq transformation. The proposed inverter system provides a sinusoidal AC current for domestic loads and the utility line with unity power factor.

The main objective of this paper is to analyze a zero crossing sampling digital phase-locked loop (PLL) as a building block for a phase synchronization system. To that purpose, the paper deals with modeling, analysis and implementation issues of the PLL. Derived are nonlinear and linear state-space models and a transfer function model. Operation of the PLL is also analyzed using frequency domain methods. An implementation of the PLL using a digital signal processor is described. On the basis of the derived models, two different system controllers are designed and the system transient response for the two cases is compared. The first controller is of a proportional-integral (PI) type and the second controller is minimum response time controller. It is shown how the input signal amplitude variations affect the system transient response. A solution for solving this problem is presented.

Overmodulation strategies of inverter-fed AC drives 逆变电源交流驱动的过调制策略

The three optimized and two carrier-based PWM strategies of the overmodulation region of inverter-fed AC drives are suggested and investigated from the point of view of motor harmonic losses, torque ripples and voltage gain of the control system. The 1/sup st/ optimized solution produces the lowest value of motor harmonic losses if the skin effect in the rotor bar is not significant while the 2/sup nd/ one gives the lowest value of these losses for the strong skin effect. It is shown that the harmonic losses of the optimized and the commonly used carrier based three-phase and two-phase overmodulation strategies ensure acceptable values of harmonic losses even if the skin effect is taken into account but only up to 96% of the maximal possible voltage region. In this case for the presently used switching frequencies the motor harmonic losses rarely exceed the maximal losses of the normal voltage region. The near constant voltage gain can be ensured for the overmodulation region too. The torque ripples of different overmodulation strategies have about the same values.
