Universal lossless algorithms of data compression are always efficient to text and inefficient to JPEG data. According to the characteristic of JPEG, a new shuffle algorithm is proposed to resize the JPEG, and then use the universal lossless algorithms to compress the resize JPEG. In the end, using the typical example as experiment has been carried out and obtained a preferable compression ratio with little time cost.

The universal method to analysis non-stationary signal in reality, and the analysis methods are based on time-frequency domain or time-scale domain. An invertible transform method based on time series is proposed in this paper from another point of view. Using this method to analyze the broadband noise signal, experiments show that this method can turn disorder to order in time domain. And after transform, their characters distinguish noise signal, speech signal from each other. The principle is simple, easy to achieve.

This paper presents a new high performance cloud framework that support simplified data parallel applications. and describes the design and implementation of it. This cloud implements stream processing paradigm over clusters of computers, either within single data center or across wide area. Unlike MapReduce, this Cloud’s stream processing paradigm is simpler, more straightforward, and reaches better performance in certain cases. The experimental results show this cloud is more straightforward, simpler to use, and it is about twice as fast as Hadoop.

As a special supply chain, design chain where product design and development information transfers is the development trend for product research and development (R&D). System optimization for design chain is an important problem for the academia and business circles. With entropy theory, time entropy, quality entropy and utility entropy were proposed. Mathematical model was given to optimize the order degree of design chain. A modified ant colony optimization was used to find the problem solutions. Case results show that design chain which consists of substantial organizations may be not the optimization form and its integration is necessary. Meantime, the results also show the validity for the proposed method.

It is very important in a lot of applications to forecast future trend of data streams. For example, a GPS system in a car could send not only the current location of the car but also its vector of movement or expected trajectory. Recent works on query processing over data streams mainly focused on approximate queries over newly arriving data. To the best of the knowledge, there is nothing to date in the literature on predictive query processing over data streams. Prediction models are introduced in distributed data stream processing and the problem formulation is detailed with. A common framework is raised and key parts of the architecture are described. The framework provides a mechanism to maintain adaptive prediction models that significantly reduce communication cost over the distributed environment while still guaranteeing sufficient precision of query results.

In order to maximize the network lifetime for target coverage, we propose a Heuristic Greedy Optimum Coverage Algorithm (HG-OCA). In HG-OCA, we first design a network model in which power supplies of sensor nodes follow a normal distribution. Next, we analyze energy model of target coverage, educe three rules to reduce network scale, present the concept of the key target and the prior coverage of key target. Moreover, we choose sensor with most energy utility as active sensor. In the end, we present HG-OCA to extend network lifetime, based on minimizing energy consumption of key target and maximizing energy efficiency of sensor node. Measurement results show that the new algorithm could increase 80% longer network lifetime and achieve more adaptability and stability.

Without the knowledge of the users’ carrier frequency or the channel parameters, this paper proposes a new arithmetic to blind estimate the pseudo-random sequences, based on the space-time complex independent component analysis (ST-CICA), phase lock loop (PLL) and principal component analysis (PCA). The received carrier modulated signals are firstly separated by the ST-CICA, while the multi-path interference, multiple access interference and near-far effect are cancelled. PLL and PCA will be utilized on the separated signal, in order to estimate the pseudo-random sequences, the carrier frequencies and the data of users. This new arithmetic of blind estimation works well in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environment, because of well utilizing of antenna array diversity gain and spreading gain. The performance of blind estimation is analyzed under Gaussian noise. Illustrative simulation examples were provided at last.
