The article describes the main storage locations of archival materials on the history of the Doina choir chapel’s development: the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova, the archives of the Moldova-Concert Directorate and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova. The comprehension of a large number of different documents and their use in order to recreate a complete and objective panorama of the initial stage of development of the Doina choir chapel requires a multidimensional classification of the named materials, which is proposed in this publication. The conclusion is that the proposed multidimensional classification makes it possible to reproduce the history of the country’s leading choral chapel with a high degree of reliability.

The author aims to outline a broad picture of the historical developments of the double bass, an instrument rooted in the rich medieval European tradition of building stringed instruments. The early forms of the double bass, the terminology, the tunings are presented, the role of the instrument in the instrumental formations and the establishment of its place in the classical symphony orchestra are appreciated. An important repertoire for double bass is reviewed, the composers who approached its sonority, are presented the most famous performers, representatives of different schools and directions of interpretation. The author talks about the importance of knowing all these aspects for research and evaluation of the role of this instrument in contemporary music.

The author of the given article analyzes the piano composition by Snejana Pâslari „Trei portrete musicale” examined in terms of its content and form. The conclusion is made that the musical language and the specifics of composition and dramaturgy of this composition are determined by its artistic idea and the composer’s individual style related to the implementation of the late romanticism stylistic paradigm.

Opera, an important link of contemporary culture, has a considerable influence on the individual and society, directing and enriching the cognitive, affective and attitudinal universe of the audience. Postmodernist ideology projects opera into a crisis, stimulating the development of controversial artistic forms. But, at the same time, the information environment gives Opera the possibility of transiting the closed spaces of the halls, propagating and broadcasting the lyrical performances in front of an impressive audience. The social and cultural-artistic context of the last decades has favored the rise of postmodern directorial opera, which invented multiple methods of interpretation, becoming a real challenge for many reviewers, but especially for the conservative opera audience. Without having negative connotations at its beginnings, the New postmodernist concept Regietheater/Regieoper surmounted the stage interpretations with aesthetic character of classical works, reaching today a maximum level of speculative excesses, radically distanced from the original content.

Through increasing differentiation of skills and globalization, it has become necessary to continually update knowledge and competences to ensure an individual’s life development and self-fulfilment. To ensure that the Republic of Moldova maintains its high standard of living and social cohesion, it is necessary to further enhance the citizens’ high level of qualification and to draw less educated people into the modern society. Responding to the rapid economic and social changes, lifelong learning aims to actively deal with the dynamics of changing the environment and to take advantage of new opportunities in the social, cultural and employment contexts. The development of the informational society and the widespread diffusion of information technologies give rise to new opportunities for learning and establish new challenges and practices regarding the way how teaching and learning should be organized and carried out.

The article analyzes the Sonata-reminiscenza of Nikolai Medtner from the point of view of the types of piano texture used in it. It is about such distinctive qualities of the musical texture of this work as graphicity, a combination of homophonic-harmonic and polyphonic structure, the relationship between the position in the form and the type of textural design. Starting from the thesis about the priority of the content of musical thematism, the author concludes that only a close analysis of the compositional and dramatic features of the Sonata-reminiscenza of N. Medtner for the performer can become the key to creating an adequate performing concept of the composition and to comprehending its textural features.

In this article, on the basis of the method of comparative analysis, the author examines the phenomenon of piano interpretation, touching upon the issues of performing interpretation using examples of the treatment of F. Chopin’s Ballad No.1 by three of the greatest contemporary pianists – A. Rubinstein, K. Zimerman and S. Neuhaus. The variability of perception of this work in their interpretations once again raises the problem of objectivity and subjectivity of performance, the degree of freedom of the performer. The interpretative and stylistic contrast of interpretation presented in the work allows us to consider some of the features of the evolution of piano traditions in the 20th century.

The article describes the main musicological publications that exist at present on the problems of Schubert’s creation. We are talking about editions in German, English, French, Romanian and Russian. Here are analyzed the books by V. Dams, F. Brown, O.E. Deutsch, G. Oprea, the works of Y. Khokhlov, V. Vasina-Grossman, P. Wulfius, I. Lavrentieva and others. It is concluded that the presented studies provide a sound basis for creating an integral panorama of the development of the Austro-German musical traditions in Schubert’s creations, as well as for showing the innovative features of his works of different genres.

The shirt with „altiţă” is a basic piece of the traditional women’s dress from Romania and Moldova. The signs embroidered on them, represented by stylized or geometric symbols and color have deep roots in our historical past. The symbols embroidered on the front, back and sleeves of the shirt with „altita”represent a rich source of information about the locality and life of the women who sewed these shirts, but also shows the spiritual development of our ancestors expressed in this way. Knowledge of sewing techniques, materials, the meaning of symbols contributes to the completion of the professional vision of future clothing designers, serves as a rich source of inspiration for the creation of clothing collections. Teaching the art of the traditional shirt with „altiţă” is necessary for passing on this unique craft to future generations.
