It is estimated that carbonate reservoirs contains more than 60% of the oil reserves and 40% of the gas reserves in the world [1]. The carbonate reservoirs of the brazilian offshore pre-salt layer, Santos Basin, are deep reservoirs (~ 5000 m) located in ultra-deep water column (~ 2200 m) in a large distance (~ 300 km) east from Rio de Janeiro city and exhibit high heterogeneity in terms of porosity, permeability and mechanical properties. The research on seismic - geomechanical integration aims to develop methodology and anticipate the results when using seismic to improve geomechanical modeling and mitigate risks associated with : subsidence of the seabed and faults/fractures reactivation as a result of the reservoir production throughout the productive life of the area. One of the main results of this work was estimate the mechanical properties of deformability:

The characterization and management of an oilfield requires knowledge about petrophysical properties of hydrocarbon reservoirs, which they are extreme important. Among several properties stands out permeability. This paper evaluated a post-salt carbonate reservoir located in the Campos Basin and has purpose to compare permeabilities estimated from full wave acoustic logs (Stoneley wave) and NMR logs. The NMR permeability has been estimated from Timur-Coates empirical model. In the case of the full wave acoustic log, Stoneley permeability is obtained from Stoneley wave travel-time and attenuation that are directly related to formation permeability. The Stoneley and NMR permeabilities was compared and, the permeability results have been shown very good correlation for these two different methods.

Pre-salt carbonates of the Santos Basin represent many challenges in the characterization of their reservoirs. This paper proposes the reservoir characterization of the Barra Velha and Itapema Formations based on the analysis of geophysical well logs, highlighting the influence of fine-grains presence. In the analyzed well, the results show that the Itapema and Barra Velha Formations are the exploratory targets in the Buzios Field. The Itapema Fm is less influenced by the occurrence of fine-grains, and presents better permo-porous characteristics than in the Barra Velha Fm. The presence of fine-grains causes a great negative impact on the Barra Velha Fm reservoir, affecting substantially the response of the well logs and compromising the reservoir quality. Due to this behavior, we propose the Barra Velha Fm sag phase division into Lower Sag and Upper Sag. This division is grounded at the end of fine-grain deposition. In its turn, the intra-Alagoas unconformity which separates the Upper Rift phase from the Sag phase, in the well logs, was correlated with the beginning of fine-grains deposition.

Using the methods of deconvolution it was possible to reach the objective of delimiting the reflections obtained by the seismogram, improving the temporal resolution. The following deconvolutions were used: Wiener deconvolution (spike), adaptive deconvolution, and Lp norm deconvolution. Among the deconvolutions used, it was established which one showed the best result after application of the SRME filtering method in the seismic flow, where the effects of the surface multiple should be smoothed in the marine data of the Jequitinhonha Basin, making it possible to obtain a better seismic section closer to the subsurface geological reality of the study area.

Present work consists in the measurement of the total and spectral gamma radiation of cutting samples from a well located at the Parque dos Gaviões Gas field, Parnaíba Basin, NE Brazil. Here, we propose to perform tests in the well 3-PGN-5-MA from three different acquisition times in order to evaluate the accuracy of measurements by comparing and calibrating with the total gamma ray curve acquired directly in the open hole. If we succeed with these measurements, an important working tool opens up, since it will be possible to have the spectral measurement of the natural radiation based on cutting samples, representing optimization especially in the initial phases of drilling, where logging is not performed in some cases, as well as promoting subsidies for paleoenvironmental discussions.
