It is estimated that carbonate reservoirs contains more than 60% of the oil reserves and 40% of the gas reserves in the world [1]. The carbonate reservoirs of the brazilian offshore pre-salt layer, Santos Basin, are deep reservoirs (~ 5000 m) located in ultra-deep water column (~ 2200 m) in a large distance (~ 300 km) east from Rio de Janeiro city and exhibit high heterogeneity in terms of porosity, permeability and mechanical properties. The research on seismic - geomechanical integration aims to develop methodology and anticipate the results when using seismic to improve geomechanical modeling and mitigate risks associated with : subsidence of the seabed and faults/fractures reactivation as a result of the reservoir production throughout the productive life of the area. One of the main results of this work was estimate the mechanical properties of deformability:

The characterization and management of an oilfield requires knowledge about petrophysical properties of hydrocarbon reservoirs, which they are extreme important. Among several properties stands out permeability. This paper evaluated a post-salt carbonate reservoir located in the Campos Basin and has purpose to compare permeabilities estimated from full wave acoustic logs (Stoneley wave) and NMR logs. The NMR permeability has been estimated from Timur-Coates empirical model. In the case of the full wave acoustic log, Stoneley permeability is obtained from Stoneley wave travel-time and attenuation that are directly related to formation permeability. The Stoneley and NMR permeabilities was compared and, the permeability results have been shown very good correlation for these two different methods.

In this paper, an alternative greed algorithm for interpolation/regularization of irregularly-sampled seismic data in the Fourier domain is described in connection with the approximate irregular discrete Fourier transform (AIDFT). The greed algorithm is used to fill in empty bins, generated by defective sampling, under statistical and/or physical constraints, so as to achieve an acceptable Fourier spetrum. Much like in other implementations, a least square norm Fourier spectrum is the input for the process. Here, this least square initial solution is provided by the AIDFT. The greed algorithm proposed is an iterative procedure that consists in, step by step, correcting for survey’s footprints of main Fourier components.

Neural networks can learn complex non-linear relationship, even when the input information is noise and less precise. It has made advances in classification, pattern recognition and process modeling. It is well know that shaly formations gives some effects on the reservoir as reduction in storage capacity by reducing effective porosity and reduces the ability to transmit fluids by lowering permeability. The presence of clay in a reservoir has two effects on petrophysical logs: lowers resistivity and it causes the porosity logs (sonic, neutron and density) to generally record too high a porosity (Asquith, 1990). For neural application, the back propagation network was used, taking as reference the well logging and core data from three wells of Namorado Field of Campos Basin (Brazil) Finally, and error analysis was done taking the permeability values obtained from cores as reference.
