The article summarizes a study of the creativity of N.Karakhan in the context of the development of painting of Uzbekistan of the twentieth century. In addition, tendencies in the artist’s work are investigated and the peculiarities of the artist’s painting in the 20-30s, in the 40-50s and in the 60s of the twentieth century are revealed. Moreover, new methodological developments were included to revise the historical and theoretical aspects of the study of painting in Uzbekistan of the 20-30s of the XX century and to reveal the main trends in the development of painting of Uzbekistan of the 20-30s of the XX century.

This article is about the researches analysis of religious structures in the urban planning of the Kushan period of Bactria. Bactria is historically divided into two parts, which played an important role during the Kushan period: Northern and Southern. Northern Bactria covers the territory of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The religious structures of Northern Bactria in the Kushan period monuments identified so far in these areas have been analyzed on the example of various religious views. Religious structures related to religious beliefs, such as Buddhism or dynastic cult, have been studied separately. However, the religious structures which belong to Kushan period have been analyzed insufficient as a single study. Religious buildings are classified according to which part of the city they are located in and what religion the religious buildings belong to. At the same time, the role of religious buildings in urban planning was revealed.

This article analyzes the development of modern Uzbek documentary cinema, which, with its artistic and educational quality, has become more in demand lately. The topic is studied on the example of some documentaries created. As a result of the study, some little studied aspects of this type of cinema become clear. The paper considers film-portraits dedicated to historical heroes and modern topics. The tendencies of mastery of the national school and the new generation are being studied. As a result of the collected materials, production, creative and spectator problems are revealed, as well as their causes are clarified, questions are raised, conclusions are drawn.

People's Artist of Uzbekistan, master of genre painting, landscape Evgeny Pavlovich Melnikov was born in 1928 in Buzuluk. (Russia). From an early age he dreamed of becoming an artist. Back in 1948, he came to study in Samarkand and was immediately fascinated by the gray-haired monuments of this ancient city, the many-voiced cacophony of the oriental bazaar, the open, hospitable people of this generous land. But most of all I was struck by the sun, three hundred days a year warming everything around with its bright light. The artist dedicates his life and creativity to Uzbekistan!
