The purpose of the article is to identify priorities for creating a comfortable environment in museums as the main basis of museum communication. The research methodology lies in applied methods of analysis, synthesis and creative generalizations of empirical material. The scientific novelty of the research is in the fact that this article begins in Ukrainian museology the analysis of comfort in a museum as the basic basis of museum communication. Conclusions. Summing up, it should be noted that the modern visitor has long ceased to be a passive observer, he takes a clear position in relation to both the traditional functions of the museum and the field of museum services. The relationship between the museum and the visitor continues to develop in the direction of increasing the role of the latter. The openness of the museum to the visitor should be realized at all levels of museum activities: from the development of infrastructure to the revision of the concepts of the museum’s permanent exhibition. In this regard, it will be necessary to deepen interaction with the visitor not only at the formal level, but to develop mutual communication and participation of visitors in special programs, discussions and other museum events, which will entail an increase in the time spent in the museum. Active visitors willingly enter into dialogue with the museum, are ready to present and argue their position on the relevance of museum services, the peculiarities of staff work, the legitimacy of the rules and prohibitions introduced in institutions. The creation of a renewed, attractive, comfortable environment in museums requires major changes, innovations, and experiments. Any innovations, even the most daring ideas worthy of being tested in the museum space, provided that they do not pose a threat to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage objects and do not threaten the safety of visitors and employees.

The complex of Cossack armament of the 16th century is much less known than the weapons of 17th –18th centuries. This gap can be filled by excavation materials on the island Mala Khortytsia (Baida). The wooden fortifications with clay mud were found on the island. They are typical for the fortification of the 15th – 16th centuries. They were built in the same system as in princely times. There is an opinion that the basis of the Cossack weapon became the processed peasant tools: a battle sickle, a battle scythe, an axe, a morgenstern, etc. The finds on Baida Island do not confirm the thesis about the rural weapons of the first Cossacks. The weapons found on Baida makes it possible to assert that the typical complex of Cossack weapons, well known in the 17th century, had not yet been formed at an earlier time. However, the main signs of the armament of the European armies are also present in the Cossack armament complex on the island. During the years of the monument research, two samples of cannons, four samples of firearms, and numerous tools for firearms (bullets, rifle flints, wick locks, ramrods) were found. Cold weapons are represented by spears, sulitsas, knives, axes. The fragments of protective armor and numerous arrowheads were also found. The presence of sabers is evidenced by belt buckles and a fragment of a saber blade. Thus, the main weapon of the Cossack were muskets and pistols. Axes were in second place. The rest of the weapons can be classified as singular. At least two types of cannons were used.

The purpose of the article is to provide the scientific analysis and classification of the immovable cultural heritage monuments of Lviv according to the type of “architecture”, with the elaboration of recommendations to preserve them. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and special methods, in particular, the historical method in a systematic approach, when the set of monuments of the historic city as an object of study is considered in development, as well as comparative method, analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time a comprehensive analysis of the existing architectural heritage throughout Lviv has been carried out with the definition of the main parameters of this set and the best ways to overcome its threatening factors. Conclusions. Lviv has the highest number, diversity, concentration and value of architectural monuments among all Ukrainian cities, which form complexes, ensembles and sights, not only in the historic centre but also around it and even in peripheral areas. To ensure their preservation, it is necessary not only to include all cultural heritage sites in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine but also to concentrate efforts of municipal government, the public, specialists and concentration of financial resources on the practical implementation of the principles of the civilized approach, in order to preserve for present and future generations not only numerous individual architectural monuments but also the traditional nature of the environment of Lviv.

The paper analyzes again the unique Greek inscription – the votive poem honouring Achillesgod and his island founded in 1987 on the Berezan. The purpose of the study is to analyze the reading options of the famous Berezan hymn to the island and Achilles and establish which of them most closely matches the idea of the ancient poet and the current state of the work he created. Scientific novelty . For the first time, a comprehensive study of all the versions of the Berezan votive reconstruction proposed in world science is undertaken. The research methodology is based on the principle of scientific objectivity and the generally accepted methods, and the technique of historical and epigraphic discipline. Conclusions . The criteria for the restoration of this epigraphic document have been determined. The boundaries of the permissible in its reconstruction have been established. The meaning, structure and condition of the inscription correspond to the version published by the author in 1990 the most closely: [Κυκλο]τeρὲς κτeάτισμα θeῶν| [Ἀχιλῆο]ς ὄχημα, νῆσσe πeρικλυ|[τή. ἥ], κύμασι γηθομένη, σὸν πέ|[ρι eἴ]ληχeν Θέτιδος γόνος αἷμα|[ἔνeρ]θe Αἰακίδης Ἀχιλλeὺς ἀθα|[νατοῖ]σιν ἵσος. Ἀλλ’ Ἀχιλλeῦ δέ|[ξ’ eὔθυ]σίην καὶ eἵλλαος ἴσθι ἡμeτέ|ρ[αν ὁσιὴ]ν μοῦσαν ἀπὸ γραφίδος. “Oh, carved around the gods’ property, Achilles’ chariot, glorious, wave-rejoiced island. The purpose of the paper is to identify the features of environmental museums that allow them to be considered as a phenomenon of modern cultural industries. The methodology of the work is based on the cultural approach with the use of analysis, synthesis. The scientific novelty of the research is that this paper is one of the first attempts at a comprehensive analysis of the environmental museum as a phenomenon of modern cultural industries in Ukrainian museology. Conclusions. The relevant features of environmental museums are: the possibility of attracting of other sectors of creative industries into the work; possibility of incorporation into a wider cultural industry; wider opportunities for presenting and interpreting cultural senses, working with visitors and creating creative products based on creative potential; active development of various forms of partnership.

Перед сучасними музеями України стоїть значна кількість питань, що стосуються різних сторін музейної діяльності та підходів до неї. Зокрема, це стосується діалогу між музеєм та містом і того, як місто репрезентоване в музеї. Це не стосується всіх особливостей музейної експозиції та способів подачі матеріалу. Йдеться про діалог, котрий, як передбачається, може складатися між музеєм та тим регіоном, де він розташований, про те, як розкривається в музеї культура цього регіону, яким аспектам культури приділено більше уваги, як розставлені акценти в експозиції. У нашому випадку це діалог музею та міста в контексті міського повсякдення. Розглянути, як складається ситуація в цьому напрямку, і є завданням даної роботи. На теоретичному рівні принципи роботи музею, його фондів та експозиції досліджені достатньо добре. Більше питань виникає при звертанні до проблеми взаємостосунків музею та міста на рівні функціонування музею як частини міського середовища. Ця тема розроблена менше, тому потребує додаткового вивчення. Питання вивчення міського повсякдення для українських гуманітаріїв стали актуальними не так давно, це стосується і музейної справи. Тому єдиної методології та універсального комплексу підходів ще не створено. Одна зі складностей полягає в тому, що міське життя має швидкий ритм та темп розвитку, воно занадто різностороннє, що робить спроби зобразити його в масштабах експозиції достатньо проблематичними. Цю проблему частково допомагають вирішити тематичні музеї, присвячені конкретним складовим міського життя. У питаннях діалогу міста та музею важливу роль відіграє відвідувач, який є не лише реципієнтом інформації, яку надає музей, але й частиною тих зв’язків, що формуються між музеєм та містом. І музею необхідно шукати шляхи максимально розширити коло можливостей по наданню інформації про міську культуру різними засобами та на різних рівнях. Зокрема, цьому сприяє залучення візуальних засобів та віртуальних технологій. Крім того, активне включення музею у візуалізацію міського повсякдення могло б сприяти формуванню нових підходів до вивчення та музеєфікації міської культури. Таким чином, ми бачимо, що проблеми репрезентації міського повсякдення в музеї й включення самого музею в міське повсякдення мають теоретичні та практичні складові. Ці питання потребують подальших додаткових глибоких досліджень.

Зокрема, це стосується діалогу між музеєм та містом і того, як місто репрезентоване в музеї. Це не стосується всіх особливостей музейної експозиції та способів подачі матеріалу. Йдеться про діалог, котрий, як передбачається, може складатися між музеєм та тим регіоном, де він розташований, про те, як розкривається в музеї культура цього регіону, яким аспектам культури приділено більше уваги, як розставлені акценти в експозиції. У нашому випадку це діалог музею та міста в контексті міського повсякдення. Розглянути, як складається ситуація в цьому напрямку, і є завданням даної роботи. На теоретичному рівні принципи роботи музею, його фондів та експозиції досліджені достатньо добре. Більше питань виникає при звертанні до проблеми взаємостосунків музею та міста на рівні функціонування музею як частини міського середовища. Ця тема розроблена менше, тому потребує додаткового вивчення. Питання вивчення міського повсякдення для українських гуманітаріїв стали актуальними не так давно, це стосується і музейної справи. Тому єдиної методології та універсального комплексу підходів ще не створено. Одна зі складностей полягає в тому, що міське життя має швидкий ритм та темп розвитку, воно занадто різностороннє, що робить спроби зобразити його в масштабах експозиції достатньо проблематичними. Цю проблему частково допомагають вирішити тематичні музеї, присвячені конкретним складовим міського життя. У питаннях діалогу міста та музею важливу роль відіграє відвідувач, який є не лише реципієнтом інформації, яку надає музей, але й частиною тих зв’язків, що формуються між музеєм та містом. І музею необхідно шукати шляхи максимально розширити коло можливостей по наданню інформації про міську культуру різними засобами та на різних рівнях. Зокрема, цьому сприяє залучення візуальних засобів та віртуальних технологій. Крім того, активне включення музею у візуалізацію міського повсякдення могло б сприяти формуванню нових підходів до вивчення та музеєфікації міської культури. Таким чином, ми бачимо, що проблеми репрезентації міського повсякдення в музеї й включення самого музею в міське повсякдення мають теоретичні та практичні складові.
