Nazwy zespołów i tytuły utworów disco polo. Rekonesans onomastyczno-kulturowy

In the article, I discuss the names of disco polo bands (disco polo is a kind of Polish pop music) and songs. I analyse the names from the linguistic and cultural perspective. I also highlight the external contexts. I also treat the onomastic layer of disco polo as a sign of cognitive conceptualisations, being the basis of the creation of images of the world in the lyrics.

Funkcjonowanie wybranych nazw roślin i grzybów w języku polskiej ludności wiejskiej obwodu lwowskiego

The purpose of this article is to present and discuss several dialect plant names from the „plant word” thematic field in the speech of the Poles of Lviv region. These are lexical units having no equivalents in other regions of the country or having them in an incomplete range of meaning. The lexis of the dialect in the studied Polish language is also subjected to various foreign influeces, which also must be taken into account when reconstructing the processes that shape the given form in Polish dialects. The generational breakdown shows that dialect plant names in their local meaning will cause significant difficulties for dialect users over time.

Jaki jest porządny człowiek? O wybranych użyciach przymiotnika porządny we współczesnej polszczyźnie

The aim of the article is an attempt to answer the question of what Polish speakers mean when describing someone as porządny [decent]. Over 2,000 sentences taken from the MoncoPL corpus were studied, containing combinations of the adjective under study with nouns: człowiek, osoba, mężczyzna, facet, chłopak, kobieta, dziewczyna [man, person, guy, boy, woman, girl]. The analyzes were preceded by a review of lexicographic definitions as well as concepts of a decent man. Research has shown that the adjective porządny denotes a bundle of positive traits that are concretized depending on the context. Only in relation to women, the analyzed term is more precise and refers to the sexual and moral sphere.

What-clefts with adjectives in English: A corpus-based analysis 英语中形容词的what -cleft:基于语料库的分析

This paper aims to investigate the what-cleft construction with adjectives and establish its structural, semantic, and distributional features by adopting frame semantics and usage-based construction grammar, exploiting the data from the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), and applying quantitative corpus-based methodology. To this end, the author extracts the occurrences of the What be ADJ be-construction from a large corpus of naturally-occurring data, determines its structural, semantic, distributional, and discourse-functional properties, and identifies adjectives that are strongly associated with the construction in question. The paper makes a significant contribution to a growing body of literature on the what-cleft construction by conducting a qualitative and quantitative analysis of one of its variants, a grammatical pattern with adjectives that has not been hitherto investigated in much detail.

In contemporary Polish, there are phraseologies and winged words that come from film, series, songs, the language of politics, advertising, popular TV and radio programs. S. Chęciński’s trilogy includes, among others, the following idioms and winged words: sami swoi; nie ma mocnych; dla zdrowotnosti a. dla zdrowotności; Podejdź do płota (jako i ja podchodzę); Sąd sądem, a sprawiedliwość musi być po naszej stronie; U mnie słowo droższe pieniędzy. In the texts, apart from the canonical forms of the relationships, there are also their modifications, cf. The avian diversity of Behali Wildlife Sanctuary, an Important Bird Area IN-AS-05 (A1 and A3) is documented here. A total of 283 species of birds belonging to 21 orders, 69 families, and 194 genera were recorded. The study recorded one critically endangered species, 2 endangered species, 7 vulnerable species, 13 near threatened species and 260 species were least concern. Distribution of birds within the reserve forest and IUCN Red List Categories of them are also provided here.

The red-leaved rose, Rosa glauca, has the status of an established, non-invasive kenophyte species in Poland. In the 1970s, it was reported to be commonly cultivated, and since the second half of the 20th century, information about its spontaneous spread, mainly in the western part of the country, has appeared in the literature. The aim of this study was to present the current distribution of Rosa glauca sites in Poland. The possible invasive potential of this species was also studied.

Water trophy assessment of the cooling system of the “Dolna Odra” power plant on the basis of algae indicator organisms 基于藻类指示生物的“Dolna Odra”电厂冷却系统水样评价

The paper presents the results of water trophy assessment from various stations of the cooling system of the “Dolna Odra” (Poland) power plant. The assessment was made based on the indicator phytoplankton species collected four times at four sites located in different parts of the hydrological system cooling the technical infrastructure of the power plant. The sites were characterised by water with a natural temperature for individual seasons, as well as by thermals changed as a result of the discharge of cooling waters. For each site, the saprobic index was calculated based on indicator species. The analysis showed that the changes in trophic conditions, both in waters with changed thermals and in waters not subject to the influence of after-cool waters, are not subject to significant changes. The waters of all studied sites in the analysed periods of the year should be classified according to Sladeček and Sládečková (1996) to the waters of the β–mesosaprobic zone, with a saprobic index value ranging from 1.51 to 2.50 (average S = 2.0). This zone is characterised by the course of biochemical processes under aerobic conditions, as a result of which complete oxidation of the intermediate products of decomposition of organic compounds takes place.

Perspective on the influence of ultraviolet radiations in plant growth and development 紫外线辐射对植物生长发育影响的研究进展

Accumulating evidence points to the multidimensional role of ultraviolet radiation in plant growth and development. Ultraviolet-A (UV-A), as the main component of UV radiation in nature, has a wide range of effects on plants. As there is some evidence of its positive effect as a regulator of plant growth in a controlled environment, there has long been interest in the use of UV-A in agriculture. However, the role of UV-A in plant growth remains largely unknown and the number of studies looking at the effects of UV-A in a controlled environment is still too small. The review carried out here also includes the effects of other UV components on plant growth, morphology and physiology, such as: UV-B, as well as the interplay of other abiotic stresses and UV-A as growth regulators. On the basis of the synthesis presented here, it can be concluded e.g. that lower doses of UV-A radiation can stimulate the growth of plant in a controlled environment. Perhaps it will soon contribute to the optimization of indoor plant growing recipes.
