Problemy z diagnozą zaburzeń rozwoju dzieci dwujęzycznych

Bilingualism and multilingualism is a phenomenon that is becoming better understood, more thoroughly researched and, above all, increasingly common. The positive impact of bilingualism situations on children’s cognitive and linguistic development has been repeatedly emphasized, and the myth of the connection between bilingualism and delayed speech development has been debunked. However, there is an area that requires special attention and discussion in the case of bilingualism/multilingualism, and that is the diagnosis of developmental disorders of children functioning in a bilingual situation. It should be unequivocally emphasized that bilingualism and multilingualism have no formal connection with any developmental disorder, while they negatively affect the timing and speed of diagnosis of problems. This is because it very often serves as the first argument used to explain different reactions, behaviors, actions, type of play, etc. This phenomenon, still prevalent both in Poland and abroad, is not only unjustified, but, above all, poses a threat to early, effective therapeutic help for children with developmental disorders.

Pomiędzy słowem a obrazem. O wizualizacji w nauczaniu/uczeniu się języka polskiego jako drugiego

Visualization in teaching, as a method of universal communication and a simple message understood by all people, in the conditions of crises in the modern world, and especially in the era of current migrations, is indispensable also in Polish schools. The study outlines the most critical problems faced by teachers teaching Polish as a second language and then presents various options and advantages of incorporating image/imagery into the education of children with a migration experience, incl. picture dictionaries, drawing techniques, mnemonics (link method, chain method, mental map) and a sketch note. Regardless of the universality of visual thinking, the study proves that these techniques, strategies, and methods have a resounding justification for teaching Polish as the second language.

Uczeń z doświadczeniem migracji w polskim systemie edukacji - okiem praktyka

The aim of this work is to show the functioning of students with experience of migration in the Polish education system. The analysis of this topic is based on the use of the JES-PL method in teaching Polish as a second language in the context of working with foreigners. On this basis, it is possible to identify differences in the degree of learning the language of school education and in language proficiency, depending on the group in which the child came. Reflection on this theme is based above all on the activities of the teacher, the attitudes he adopts and the didactic knowledge used to adapt young people to the new socio-cultural reality.

The present paper describes the linguistic situation in the Czech part of Cieszyn Silesia in the Czech Republic (the Zaolzie region) on the basis of the history and present condition of Polish minority education, which has a long tradition in this area. The author focuses on a general description of the linguistic situation while presenting a more detailed view of the contemporary condition of minority education in Zaolzie. He cites current student numbers and reflects, among other, on the problems and challenges faced by minorities in Polish schools.

Student w roli słuchacza na zajęciach języka polskiego jako obcego

The purpose of this article is to verify what communication roles the learner of Polish as a foreign language plays in improving listening skills (and in which communication systems). The author, referring to the concepts of Michel Rost and Denis McQuail, analyzes teaching tasks and correlated texts present in three selected coursebooks for A2 level. The research shows that the teaching tasks do little to prepare learners for authentic listening in natural communicative contexts: students play little differentiated roles in only two systems. In the author’s view, listening instruction should be consciously and deliberately planned for the sake of authenticity and functionalism in PFL teaching.

Many Polish citizens living abroad care about maintaining their native language within the scope of family language policy. One of the ways of reaching this goal is making a decision on the participation of children in organised forms of education for Polish communities living abroad. This article presents an educational offer addressed to Polish pupils living abroad. This offer comprises the public education system consisting of schools abroad, Polish schools and schools in Poland, non-public education offered by Saturday schools and a home education option.

Podejście zadaniowe w kształceniu świadomości kultury własnej Chińczyków uczących się języka polskiego

Young Chinese who undertake Polish studies show great interest in Polish culture. In glottodidactics, acquiring intercultural competence is achieved by integrating language learning with getting to know the entire cultural context. To develop this competence, it is necessary to be aware of one’s own culture and the ability to interpret it in the context of a foreign culture. The article is an attempt to indicate such methods of working with Chinese students, which thanks to a pragmatic approach to their own culture, motivate students to get to know it more deeply, and allow them to see the relationship between their native and foreign culture.
在波兰学习的中国青年对波兰文化表现出浓厚的兴趣。在外语教学中,跨文化能力的获得是通过将语言学习与了解整个文化语境相结合来实现的。为了发展这种能力,有必要了解自己的文化,并在外国文化的背景下解释它的能力。这篇文章试图指出这种与中国学生一起工作的方法,由于对自己文化的务实态度,激励学生更深入地了解它,并让他们看到本国文化和外国文化之间的关系。

O kontrastywnym nauczaniu polskiej gramatyki w grupach wschodniosłowiańskich na materiale wybranych podręczników

The paper presents the guidelines for contrastive teaching of Polish to the learners from the East, that is, the users of East Slavic languages: Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians. The presentation of the fundamental assumptions of contrastive teaching, which are advantageous in terms of enhancing one’s linguistic competence, is accompanied by a short analysis of the content of the author’s two coursebooks, that is, Po polsku bez błędu. Zbiór ćwiczeń z gramatyki języka polskiego dla studentów ukraińskojęzycznych (A1–B1), and Polski dla nas 1: Польский для нас 1. Deklinacja i składnia kontrastywnie dla Słowian wschodnich (A2–B2). On the basis of these two publications, the practical aspects of teaching certain grammatical issues with the use of the contrastive method, the stages of teaching, their aims and prospective goals are discussed.

Nauczanie języka polskiego jako obcego w grupie Słowian południowych - postulaty programowe

The opening of the borders of the European Union and increasing the number of its members resulted in higher amount of students from the countries of the former Yugoslavia and Bulgaria Bulgaria studying at Polish universities. South Slavs often do not realize the similarity of all Slavic languages. The article presents selected methodological suggestions for planning courses for South Slavs, which would take into account these similarities. However, one should not forget that language similarities can be a source of mistakes: transfer from related languages is also an issue to which the author dedicated a place in her work

Nauczanie i uczenie się języków obcych w kontraście z językami słowiańskimi w opinii Słowian wschodnich - raport z badań

The paper presents the results of research conducted on a sample of 30 respondents from the East who learn Polish as a foreign language. The research aims at determining the respondents’ opinions on the special didactic procedure, which is teaching the second language in contrast to the learners’ first language. The paper demonstrates the findings about the respondents’ actual and declared levels of proficiency, the correspondence between languages (the degree of correspondence according to the respondents), and also the advantages and possible problems with teaching foreign languages with the use of the contrastive approach.
本文介绍了对来自东方的30名将波兰语作为外语学习的受访者进行抽样调查的结果。本研究旨在确定受访者对特殊教学程序的看法,即将学习者的母语与第二语言进行对比。本文论证了被调查者的实际水平和宣称的熟练程度、语言之间的对应程度(根据被调查者的对应程度)以及使用对比教学法进行外语教学的优势和可能存在的问题。
