: Objective: To determine the ovarian volume values in women aged 14 to 35 year who consulted at the Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Service of the Hospital Vargas de Caracas between January to April 2022. Methods: The study population included 213 healthy women of childbearing age. Age, body mass index, and longitudinal, anteroposterior, and transverse measurements of the ovary, multiplied by 0.52 to calculate ovarian volume, were recorded. Results: The mean ovarian volume of the patients was 7.4 ± 3.5 cc. The volume of the right ovary was significantly greater than the left ovary (8.1 cc vs 6.8 cc p < 0.005). No significant differences were found for ovarian volume, age or body mass index. Conclusion: These local ultrasound values are not similar to those of international studies carried out 32 years ago, making clear the need to continue working on national reference values that reflect the phenotypic changes established in recent decades

: Liver abscess is a collection of encapsulated suppurative material located in the liver parenchyma, mostly classified as pyogenic or amoebic. We present the case of a 35-year-old male patient who has presented for a month with recurrent thermal increases and abdominal pain in the right hypochondrium. Ultrasound was performed at the abdominal care point, evidencing oval lesion in liver segments V, VII and VIII, 13 cm x 11 cm x 11 cm, with regular edges, heterogeneous, mixed echo with posterior acoustic reinforcement and internal echoes, without internal vascularization to the Doppler. Empirical antibiotic therapy was indicated and proposed for percutaneous drainage guided by wireless ultrasound. Based on the literature consulted and personal experience, it is advisable to perform percutaneous drainage of this type of abscess, guided by wireless ultrasound at the bedside in selected patients, demonstrating that it is safe, cheap and effective.

: Objective: To evaluate the pulsatility and resistance index of the renal artery using Doppler ultrasound in patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy who attended the Hospital Universitario “Dr. Luis Razetti” in Barcelona between July and September 2022. Methods: Eighteen pregnant women with a gestational age greater than 20 weeks were included who had been diagnosed with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, such as chronic arterial hypertension with superimposed preeclampsia with signs of severity, with or without complications. The study determined systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure, as well as hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelets, oxaloacetic and pyruvic transaminase, urea, and creatinine. The pulsatility index and renal resistance were measured using Doppler ultrasound. Results: Of the 18 participants, 88.8 % had hypertensive disorders of pregnancy with superimposed preeclampsia.
