— The GLASS (GMPLS Lightwave Agile Switching Simulator) is a tool for simulationof next generation optical networks. It is based on free and open source code developed in JAVA. This paper aims at describing a new feature added to the GLASS, in order to facilitate the dynamic rerouting of LSPs (Label Switched Paths) in GMPLS networks scenarios based on the RSVP-TE signaling protocol.

Resumo— Nas últimas duas décadas, possibilidades de aplicações práticas de sinais caóticos em telecomunicações têm sido consideradas. Para tanto, é relevante conhecer e controlar as caracterı́sticas de correlação e espectro destes sinais. Neste trabalho, faz-se um estudo analı́tico da seqüência de autocorrelação e da densidade espectral de potência de sinais caóticos de tempo discreto gerados por mapas da famı́lia tenda inclinada. Ele complementa artigos recentes dos autores em que estas caracterı́sticas foram estudadas apenas de forma numérica.

─ ─ ─ This paper proposes a model to calculate the path loss propagation in a mixed environment (forest, streets and buildings) using the parabolic equations method and a random variable, which makes the hybrid model. To solve the parabolic equation the implicit finite differences CrankNicolson scheme was used. The propagation in the paraxial direction in 15° and the complex index of refraction of the medium were considered. In order to validate the proposed model, a campaign of measurements was carried out in two districts of the State of Para, specifically in the city of Marituba in the frequency of 900 MHz and in the city of Barcarena in 1800 MHz. The proposed model was then compared to the experimental data. The error found was 2.28 dB and standard deviation was 3.38 dB. The results show the efficiency of the method.

—This paper presents a general diversity combining scheme, in which maximal-ratio combined signals are chosen on a traditional selection combining algorithm. This method has a simple implementation and a tractable analytical formulation. A general analysis of the probability distribution, level crossing rate, and average fade duration at the output of the combiner is provided, exemplifying for a Nakagami-m fading environment. The main result of the present work, however, is the derivation of an exact expression for the SNR at the output of the combiner for a Nakagami-m fading scenario. The formulations derived here find a direct applicability in the dimensioning of cellular networks.
