As the demand for real-time, secure, and scalable transactions continues to rise, the intersection of 5G mobile connectivity and blockchain technology presents a promising solution. This paper proposes a novel approach to leverage the high-speed and low-latency capabilities of 5G mobile networks, integrating them as nodes in a Layer 1 Proof of Authority (PoA) blockchain architecture for microtransactions. Several advantages are achieved by utilising 5G mobile connections as nodes in the blockchain network. Firstly, the ultra-fast data transmission speeds and low network latency of 5G networks enhance the efficiency of blockchain transactions, enabling near-instantaneous settlement of microtransactions. Secondly, the distributed nature of the blockchain, combined with the security features provided by 5G networks, ensures a robust and tamper-proof transactional environment.

The inability of pure relational DBMSs to meet the new requirements of the applications that have emerged on the web has led to the advent of No SQL DBMSs. In the last few years, significant progress has been made in integrating into relational DBMSs the features that are essential to consider those new requirements that primarily concern flexibility, performance, horizontal scaling, and very high availability. This paper focuses on the features that can enable relational DBMSs to provide applications with the flexibility to work with various non-relational data models while providing the guarantees of independence, integrity, and performance of query evaluation.

The inevitability of continuous evolution and seamless integration of dynamic alterations remains a paramount consideration in the realm of software engineering. This concern is particularly pronounced within the context of contemporary microservices architectures embedded in heterogeneous and decentralized systems composed of numerous interdependent components. A pivotal focal point within such a software design paradigm is to sustain optimal performance quality by ensuring harmonious collaboration among autonomous facets within an intricate framework. The challenge of microservices evolution has predominantly revolved around upholding the harmonization of diverse microservices versions during updates, all while curbing the computational overhead associated with such validation. This study leverages previous research outcomes and tackles the evolution predicament by introducing an innovative formal model, coupled with a fresh exposition of microservices RESTful APIs. The amalgamation of Formal Concept Analysis and the Liskov Substitution Principle plays a pivotal role in this proposed solution. A series of compatibility constraints is delineated and subjected to validation through a controlled experiment employing a representative microservices system. The suggested approach is poised to enhance the development of more sustainable microservices applications and elevate the efficacy of DevOps practices engaged in the creation and upkeep of microservices architectures.

An outline of NOMA principles is provided in this article. Furthermore, this page discusses cooperative NOMA and its variations, explains power allocation in detail as a technique of resource allocation for NOMA, and gives an overview of the research challenges related to NOMA. We then, use a two-case scenario, to suggest a dynamic power allocation (DPA) plan for the downlink NOMA users, albeit it can also be expanded to many use cases. The DPA relies on channel state information (CSI) to guarantee the quality of service (QOS) for cell center customers (user c). The Outage probability (OP) as a critical performance criterion simulation data is also provided, and they demonstrate a notable performance improvement when DPA is employed compared to fixed power allocation.

Project Based Learning (PBL) modules have become an inevitable part in SE curriculums. Industry relevance of PBL mechanisms have further strengthened this crucial need. Design Sprint is well known as a PBL approach which enhances transferable skills in students. Design Sprint is also a widely used mechanism in software industry projects. Therefore, Design Sprint could be used to enhance the outcomes of SE undergraduate PBL projects. This study makes use of a longitudinal case study approach to investigate the effectiveness of using Design Sprint approach in a SE undergraduate module which used PBL. The study focusses a group of students (111) and academics (12) in SE degree program in a private higher education institute in Sri Lanka. Qualitative data gathered from the target audience in two distinctive occasions to investigate the effectiveness of Design Sprint in PBL projects. The results showcased that Design Sprint has a positive impact in improving performance criteria such as problem solving, teamwork, analytical skills, communication skills and acquiring new knowledge. The results indicated that majority of the students (more than 80%) had positive opinions about the Design Sprint. The academics further strengthened this finding as they also agree that there was a significant improvement in student performance in PBL projects after introducing Design Sprint mechanism.

Mango is one of the most traded fruits in the world. Therefore, mango production suffers from several pests and diseases which reduce the production and quality of mangoes and their price in the local and international markets. Several solutions for automatic diagnosis of these pests and diseases have been proposed by researchers in the last decade. These solutions are based on Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms. In recent years, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have achieved impressive results in image classification and are considered as the leading methods for image classification. However, one of the most significant issues facing mango pests and diseases classification solutions is the lack of availability of large and labeled datasets. Data augmentation is one of solutions that has been successfully reported in the literature. This paper deals with data augmentation techniques namely blur, contrast, flip, noise, zoom and affine transformation to know, on the one hand, the impact of each technique on the performance of a ResNet50 CNN using an initial small dataset, on the other hand, the combination between them which gives the best performance to the DL network. Results show that the best combination classifying mango leaf diseases is ‘Contrast & Flip & Affine transformation’ which gives to the model a training accuracy of 98.54% and testing accuracy of 97.80% with an f1_score > 0.9.

2022 has been heralded as the year of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Generative AI like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion, along with a host of others, launched late in the year and immediately disrupted the status quo of the literary and art worlds, leading to outcries to ban “AI Art” and spawning an entirely new market of NFTs. Fears over the “death of the artist” and the “death of college composition,” however, are unfounded when considering the historical adoption of emerging technologies by creatives and the reconsideration of authorship that began with post structuralism and the Foucauldian Death of the Author in 1967. Contemporary scholarship has faced challenges in reconciling the function of the human author in conjunction with artificial intelligence (AI) due to the progressive sophistication and self-sufficiency of generative code. Nonetheless, it is erroneous to establish the threshold for authorship based on the development or advancement of AI or robotics, as it falls within the realm of ontology. Instead, assertions of AI authorship stem from a romanticized perception of both authorship and AI during a period in which neither holds significance.

This study examines how business intelligence (BI) tools are adopted in a higher education setting. It made use of the theories of Diffusion of Innovation (DOI), Technology Readiness Index, and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The psychometric features of the intended end-users were defined using TAM. The technology readiness of the users was assessed using TRI. The DOI was used to describe the innovation itself. The important factors for the adoption of the technology in this particular environment were identified through the examination of both quantitative and qualitative data. To gain a better understanding of the socio-technical system as a whole, a systems dynamics tool is presented to model the interaction of these elements along with the recommended interventions.

In the revision of treatments of contemporary art in the 21st century, art historians are recognizing 2022 as the dawn of the age of creative artificial intelligence (AI). The emergence of generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion in late 2022 immediately disrupted the established practices of the art world, leading to debates about the validity of "AI Art" and the emergence of a new market for NFTs. However, fears regarding the "death of the artist" are unwarranted when considering the historical adoption of new technologies by artists, such as photography. The role of the artist will undoubtedly transform, and the definition of "art" will be redefined once again. To better understand how AI generative art will impact traditional art-making practices, this study will present an AI generative art development pipeline and provide recommendations for future technical and theoretical considerations of the subject-object dilemma in art through a post structuralist reading of reception theory.
