This paper approaches aspects concerning the technical and functional degradation of the sheave wheels in the hoist tower, which determines the need for replacing the whole operational group through designing and machining, so that it might provide the increase of the safe functioning of the hoist system. With these in view, modern investigation analyses have been employed together with calculi so that the results were well grounded and allowed the devising and designing of new solutions, able to meet the concept of functionality and modernity. The settling of the previously mentioned issue appears to be applicable to other similar situations.

A recently developed numerical solver for relativistic hydrodynamics, eCOS, is presented. The governing equations and subsequent solution methodology are described followed by a demonstration of its predictive capability. High-fidelity numerical solutions are achieved regarding the solution of problems involving in oneand twodimensional test cases containing strong shock-waves and complex flow features. eCOS is shown to be competitive with other solvers of this nature found in the current literature. All validation test cases provide confidence in its ability, both qualitatively and quantitatively, such that the solver is commissioned to study problems that do not have a known solution and thus require a numerical approximation.

Hot cracks appear when thermal shrinkage together with deformation caused by restraint cannot be accommodated by plastic deformation. This happens during welding to such alloys, which segregate on heating and cooling at near-solidus temperatures, in particular when low-melting and mechanically weak phases form and occur over a wide range of temperatures. To check for susceptibility to the liquation cracking caused by the low-melting, weak phases, hot tensile testing can be used in combination with a thermal cycle resembling that of real welding. This procedure, which can be executed on a Gleeble Thermal-Mechanical Simulator, comprises tensile testing of a number of cylindrical samples at the temperatures below solidus and determining their hot strength and ductility. An alternative to the hot tensile test during the simulated welding cycle is the Strain-Induced Crack Opening (SICO) test.

The seismic survey is a leading geophysical technique in the location of potential hydrocarbon and geothermal reservoirs beneath the Earth’s surface. However, there might be some cases, when the method is inadequate for the reflection imaging of subsurface geology. In this paper, the areas of Nyírség and Szatmár-Bereg counties are presented, where the traditional, short-offset PdPu-reflection seismic measurement was unsuccessful because of the lithological character and spatial position of the geological formations. All this is due to a thick buried Miocene igneous complex, which forms a strong barrier for wave propagation and causes uncertainties during the interpretation of the pre-Neogene basement. The primary purpose of the study is to summarize and introduce the regional deep geology, to construct multi-layered, complex geological-geophysical models based on the available dataset and to evaluate the possibilities of their seismic reflection imaging. In course of this procedure, forward modeling is utilized to reveal the reasons behind the weak subvolcanic amplitudes and which results allow to propose a new strategy for measurement design.

There is a high interest for indoor localization systems which works without specific infrastructure, since their installation and maintenance cost is minimal and they are available everywhere in shopping malls, public buildings or offices. Using such an indoor localization system we only need a smartphone with the appropriate application. In order the application be able to determine the user’s position it measures some location specific signals, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Earth magnetic field strength and compares this measured value with premeasured field strength map of the building. This field strengths map needs to be created in advance and this is the only time-consuming operation using such an infrastructure less indoor localization system. The location specific field strings data needs to be measured with the appropriate spacing all along the future navigation routes. This measurement activity can be automatized using an appropriate robotic vehicle. The basic requirements and the development of such a robot is discussed in this article.

This paper empirically investigates the behavior of daily stock return around securities characteristic line model for a sample of 5 most liquidate securities banks listed in the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), over the years 2013-2017. More specifically, the paper investigates whether daily return follows the random walk theory. Such a finding would be consistent with the overreaction hypothesis, also referred to presenting the securities characteristic line model and study the abnormal returns of regression analysis. The study indicates that the Amman Stock Exchange is not an efficient market at the semi-strong level, stock prices do not respond to the disclosure information and published financial reports for companies but affected by other factors.
