Over the past decade, a number of approaches have been published in the literature, which try to elaborate and clarify the principles of multi-level metamodeling. In this field, however, there are still no widely accepted principles, every approach supports different features. In this paper, we present the basic concepts of a rudimentary prototype which was developed for the purpose of supporting the process of multi-level metamodeling within Dynamic Multi-Layer Algebra (DMLA). We introduce some visualization patterns that can be wellmatched to the abstraction levels appearing in the specification, therefore the advantages of multi-level metamodeling can be exploited. The patterns can make it more comfortable and seamless to edit the models. We also summarize the main concerns regarding the validation issues and the visualization of DMLA.

Many of the indoor localization algorithms rely on predictor-corrector methods. In the prediction phase the algorithm estimates the user’s position in the next timeframe and the correction phase uses some kind of location specific measurement to refine the position. For indoor navigation systems developed for human users the most obvious prediction method is determining the heading of user using the built-in compass of the mobile phone and detecting and analyzing the walking motion step-by-step. Knowing the actual position of the person and combining the step and heading information the next estimated position can be determined. The step detection is based on the acquired data from a mobile phone sensor filtered and processed by an appropriate algorithm in order to determine the user motion state. The paper presents the development and results of such an algorithm.

Internal combustion (IC) engines are the most preferred option for automotive powertrain. Two commonly used engine types are spark ignition and compression ignition engines. The stringent emission regulations motivate researchers to improve IC engine performance to increase efficiency and reduce emission levels. There are many factors that limit IC engines efficiency, for example heat losses, losses due to incomplete and imperfect combustion, heat losses during cooling, imperfect valve timing, etc. In this paper, a comprehensive review of the most common and compromising methods and technologies that can be used to optimize the IC engines efficiency is represented.

An evolutionary optimization is an efficient tool, but time-consuming for optimizing non-linear and multi-dimensional problems. We propose a SIMD transformation for flower pollination algorithm and function to be optimized. The method was tested with standard test function, and the proportion of runtime in the sequential case and parallel case was examined.
