Characterization of Rayleigh fading channel at 28 GHz using narrow and wide beamwidth antennas in reverberation chamber (Invited paper) 混响室中窄波束和宽波束天线的28ghz瑞利衰落信道特性(特邀论文)

In this paper, channel characterization of Rayleigh fading channel at 28 GHz band is investigated. FMCW (Frequency-modulated continuous wave) radar is used as a channel sounder. The measurement is carried out inside the reverberation chamber with two different received antennas; one has 72.29° and the other has 2.40° of 3 dB beamwidth on azimuth plane. Different cases has examined with different arrangements of microwave absorbers. The obtained scattered plots and envelope distributions of Rayleigh fading channel has shown and discussed.

Characterization of wireless power transfer system in environment using equivalent currents 等效电流环境下无线电力传输系统的特性研究

Antennas used in near field wireless power transfer are approximated by canonical minimum scattering antennas. The self- and mutual-impedance can be calculated using the induced EMF method. When the self- and mutual-impedance between two canonical minimum scattering antennas in an environment are calculated using the induced EMF method, current distribution of an original antenna can be replaced by the equivalent currents that generate the same field as the field of the original antenna in transmitting mode.

On the reflection efficiency of metasurface 超表面反射效率的研究

A metasurface with double square loops is studied in this paper. Moreover, an equivalent circuit model of the metasurface is proposed. The input impedances and reflection coefficients of both the unit cell and its equivalent circuit agree reasonably well, which proves the validity of the equivalent circuit. Therefore, the operation principle of the unit cell can be understood through observing the difference between the input impedance and the characteristic impedance of the surrounding material. In addition, the equivalent circuit provides good guidelines for optimizations to realize a high or low reflection efficiency that can be applied in different areas.

A flexible dual-band open-loop antenna on inkjet-printed PETfor WLAN application 用于WLAN应用的喷墨打印pet上的柔性双频开环天线

In this paper, a flexible dual-band open-loop antenna on inkjet-printed PET is proposed covering frequency spectrum of wireless local area network (WLAN). The dual-band property is fulfilled by an open-loop which served as two monopoles. And the PET inkjet-printed technology is used to reduce the fabrication run and achieves a mass production as flexible devices. The simulated bandwidths (return loss > 10 dB) achieved for the dual-band antenna are 2.29-2.50 GHz (~8.75%) for the lower band and 5.55-6.05 GHz (~8.62%) for the upper band. The center frequency of the two operation frequency are located at 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz with a minimum return loss of 17.5 dB and 29.2 dB, respectively. The simulated dual-band PET inkjet-printed open-loop antenna has a compact size volume of 28 × 37.5 × 0.1 mm3 (with feedline and backside ground), which can be easily integrated with other components.

Utilization of higher-mode resonance in broadening the E-plane HPBW of printed antenna for automotive radar application 利用高模共振技术拓宽汽车雷达印刷天线e面高波宽

In this paper, a utilization of higher-mode resonance in broadening the E-plane HPBW of printed antenna is presented. We have combined the dominant TM010 mode resonance of inner resonator with the higher-mode resonance of outer resonator at same frequency level, in order to modify E-plane beamwidth, gain (E & H plane) and radiation efficiency of higher-mode resonance of outer resonator. To generate both modes at the same frequency, a quad-split ring shape patch is placed around the edges of inner patch antenna and single gap coupled microstrip feed is employed between the two resonators. The E-plane radiation pattern of the outer resonator (having dip at 0°) is combined with a directional E-plane radiation pattern of inner resonator due to same polarization level of both resonators. By using the above technique, up to 37.2 % increase in E-plane beamwidth (as compared to conventional patch antenna) and 71.5 % radiation efficiency is achieved.

Design of the axially displaced ellipse antenna with low profile at W band W波段低轮廓轴向位移椭圆天线的设计

This paper presents the axially displaced ellipse antenna with low profile at W band. The antenna configuration consists of an ellipsoid as the subreflector and a combination of series of paraboloids with different focal lengths, which called subzone paraboloid, as the main reflector to keep low profile. Closed-form design equations are derived using the principles of geometrical optics. Two-dimension finite-difference time-domain method is introduced to obtain the characteristics of subzone paraboloid. CST is implemented to further analyze this antenna. The bandwidth of the antenna can be improved by adjusting the height of each paraboloid of the main reflector. Simulated results show that this antenna exhibits good radiation performance and is suitable for radar and communication system at W band.

Results and trade-off of self-interference cancellation in a full-duplex radio front-end 全双工无线电前端自干扰消除的结果与权衡

This paper reports experimental results of self-interference cancellation of a full-duplex radio front-end using two techniques, which are antenna cancellation and RF circuit cancellation. Transmitting signals are fed to two identical antennas through a rat race coupler for 180° phase difference, resulting in the antenna cancellation at a receiving antenna equally apart from transmitting antennas. The coupled transmitting signals are adjusted by RF cancellation circuits (attenuator, phase shifter and true time delay) and coupled back to the receiving antenna to achieve the RF circuit cancellation. After optimizing RF cancellation circuits, experimental result shows 60-dB cancellation over 20-MHz bandwidth in a noisy indoor environment. Also, practical difficulties of SIC in RF domain due to transmit and receive path losses and power budget are discussed.

Transmission characteristics of cylindrical dipole infinite array and finite array 圆柱偶极子无限阵列和有限阵列的传输特性

Finite periodic array is applied in real situation. But, generally, assumed that periodic structure is arranged infinitely, approximate electromagnetic characteristics can be obtained efficiently. Therefore, comparison and analysis of cylindrical infinite array and cylindrical finite array are required. In this paper, scattering characteristics of cylindrical infinite periodic array are obtained efficiently using cylindrical Floquet harmonics. Also, cylindrical finite periodic array is analyzed using method of moments (MoM) with thin wire approximation because periodic structures which are composed of strip with narrow width are analyzed. Transmission characteristics of each case are obtained and compared.

A ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with controllable frequency filtering bands is proposed and investigated by using the HFSS. The frequency rejection characteristics are realized by inserting a stub into the circular ring radiating patch and etching a stepped impedance resonator (SIR) on this stub. The simulated results showed that the proposed antenna can provide a wide frequency band to meet the requirement of UWB communication and can give two designated frequency rejection bands to filter unwanted narrowband signal interferences.

Metamaterial lens for magnetic resonance imaging 磁共振成像用超材料透镜

A metamaterial lens is presented for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) application, which is expected to enhance the magnetic field intensity of the surface coil and improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the MRI system. The lens is based on a split-ring constructed into a three dimensional cuboid, providing permeability μ = -1. Measurements show that the improvement of a metamaterial lens-based coil over a conventional coil is 4.2 dBi at 282MHz, which is promising for pre-clinical study in a 7T MRI system at 300 MHz band.
