Abstract. Currently, the safe working of explosive and faire-hazardous coal seams is regulated by a number of regulatory documents. Along with this, the experience of conducting mining operations in mines, the results of scientific research and investigation of explosions or fires that have occurred, as well as the experience of performing works to eliminate the consequences of these accidents shows that a number of regulatory documents are significantly outdated or does not fully meet the requirements of the time. For a more detailed analysis of these documents, the authors used previously obtained results of research on fire safety at enterprises in the coal industry of Ukraine [1-5]. This article discussed the “Fire safety rules at the enterprises of the coal industry of Ukraine“[4] taking into account the opinions of mine workers and mine rescuers on the problem under consideration, as well as developments of the IGTM of the NAS of Ukraine and other organizations. At the same time, it should be noted that despite the difficult situation in the coal industry of Ukraine, a number of enterprises are working on the development of new methods and measures for explosion and fire safety. In addition, extensive research and work is being carried out to correct regulatory documents of mining operations at great depths in coal mines. The purpose of the article. Substantiation and development of some proposals for the correction of the normative document on the safe working out of explosive and fire-hazardous coal seams. Method. The article deals with the issue of adjusting the regulatory document on the safe working out of explosive and fire-hazardous coal seams, their preliminary analysis was carried out, the main shortcoming was identified and the ways of their elimination were determined. This applies to some clauses in such fire safety sections: fire spread, fire and belt conveyor, concentration of gases, mine firefighting equipment, ventilation and reverse, fire targets, basic requirements for the fire protection project (FPP). Scientific novelty. The necessity of serious adjustment to a number of clauses in the regulatory document of “Fire Safety Rules for Coal Industry Enterprises in Ukraine» has been established. Practical significance. The use of the corrected clauses of the regulatory document will improve fire safety and significantly reduce labour costs for the implementation of measures during mining operations in coal mines.

Purpose. Research and development of a method for predicting micro-fault fractures in coal seams using artificial intelligence methods. Methodology. To carry out the study, a neural network of the sing structure was formed. The training of the network was based on the principles of natural selection, which is the strongest one. The implementation of this principle was designed to support the genetic algorithm. Each network was tested for fitness, proportional to its ability to predict, and the best one was used for forecasting. The forecast was made in such a way that from the base point the forecast was made for the entire project site. Results. The research was conducted to develop a method for predicting the coordinates and amplitudes of low-amplitude disturbances using neural networks and genetic algorithms. The method consists in training a neural network based on reliable data taken from mining plans and, after a certain number of trainings, forecasting micro-fault discontinuous disturbances on the project site. The parameters of the violations revealed by tunnelling and cleaning works are used as training data. Originality. The method of forecasting micro-fault discontinuous disturbances using artificial intelligence allows predicting the presence and probability of distribution of disturbances in the predicted area. The main advantage of this method is the minimal cost with sufficient reliability. This favourably distinguishes it from the known methods. The application of this method does not require the use of special equipment in mine conditions, which significantly reduces the labour-intensiveness of the forecast. The efficiency of this method allows you to quickly and in a short time make a forecast on a given site, which contributes to the fastest possible commissioning of new mining fields. Practical value. The proposed method can be used to predict micro-fault discontinuous disturbances in the extraction fields of mines in the Ukrainian Donbas to assess the reliability of working out the extraction pillars and ensure the stability of the preparatory works due to their rational location. At the same time, the forecasting technique is being improved, taking into account the main characteristics of the physical process of the genesis of micro-fault discontinuous disturbances.

Objective: Based on the review of the array of publications to analyze the methods and models of general risk assessment, the nature of industrial risks and management processes on the examples of labor of coal miners. Propose a classification of mathematical models of industrial risk and identify the most appropriate model for the work of miners in the stochastic system “man-machine-environment”. Methodology: Applied to the use of situational analysis, qualimetry, probability theory and risk theory, methods of classification of occupational risks. Results: Based on a systematic analysis of multifactorial risks of emergency situations, the essence of industrial risks and management processes on the examples of coal miners, the dominant causes of industrial risk in the ergatic system (“man – machine – environment”), models and methods of risk research. Scientific novelty: For the first time on the basis of the analysis of the reasons, dynamics and consequences of industrial risks the classification of mathematical models of risks which are adapted to ergatic systems of mine production is offered. Practical value: The need for adequate practical application of risk methods and models for the assessment and measurement of industrial hazards has been proven.

Purpose. Identification of the main directions of evolution of scientific researches concerning development and improvement of fire protective reactive coatings of intumescent type for steel constructions. Methods. Analysis of literature sources, study and generalization of information, classification and modeling of chemical processes. Results. As a result of the performed researches it has been shown that of all the developed reactive fire protection systems for increasing the fire resistance of steel structures the intumescent composition of ammonium polyphosphate/ pentaerythritol / melamine / polymer is the most widespread and economically justified. To reduce the cost of fire protection measures, it is necessary to improve the coatings of the intumescent type in the following main areas: increasing of fire protection efficiency with a decrease in the thickness of the fire protection layer; prolongation of life time with strengthening of resistance to external factors; reducing the cost of the prescription composition of intumescent paint due to the use of nanomaterials. Scientific novelty. It has been established that nanoclays, nanooxides of metals and silicon, LDH compounds and their analogues should be considered the most promising and multifunctional. The presence of nanomaterials in intumescent compositions allows to increase the environmental parameters of fire-retardant treatment due to the rejection of halogen flame retardants, boron compounds, formaldehyde resins. In addition, the presence of nanocompounds in intumescent coatings significantly reduces smoke in fire. Practical significance. The conclusions obtained from the literature review are of practical importance for the development of new approaches to the design of fire-fighting materials with improved performance through the use of nanomaterials, which provides a strong fire retardant foam char layer and provides rigidity of the insulation frame.

Purpose. Experimental studies of the interaction of blast-furnace and steel-making slags with open pit waters during their direct contact and assessment of the volume of filling of the formed man-made cavities during mining of mineral deposits. Methods. Based on the analysis, the current low level of metallurgical slag and the lack of real and effective directions of their large-scale utilization were determined. The laboratory studies of the interaction of metallurgical slags with open pit water at a certain time of interaction, generally accepted methods for studying the chemical composition and concentration of substances in water, computer-aided design software packages and drawings to determine the volumes of the open pit mined-out area were used. Results. The dynamics of changes in the products of interactions of steel-smelting slags with open-pit waters at a certain ratio and period of interaction was investigated. It was found that the concentration of pollutants upon contact of water with steel-making slag changes according to polynomial dependences on the time of their interaction, decreasing by the 30th day, which eliminates the danger for the aquifer. The safest type of metallurgical slag was recommended for the formation of the bottom layer of the backfill massif. The volumes of the mined-out area of the open pit were determined in detail to assess the volumes of placement of the backfill material based on metallurgical slags. Scientific novelty. The safety of the contact of backfill materials based on steelmaking slags with open pit water was scientifically proven, which is confirmed by the established polynomial patterns of changes in concentrations and pollutants from the ratio and time of interaction. Practical significance. The formation of the backfill massif on the basis of blast-furnace dump and steel-smelting slags will allow achieving an environmental effect, such as their safe disposal as a reclamation of technologically disturbed lands by mining and restoration of the economic value of the land plot, as well as preventing the formation of new dumps.
