In this paper, an assessment of the compound flood hazards in the city center of Rijeka due to the combined actions of the coastal and river flood sources was carried out, and hazard maps for the said area were prepared. Maps were created on a larger scale, taking into account various sources of flooding, and they show that the city of Rijeka has a high level of flood hazard, especially along the coastline and around the Rječina river where the highest flow velocities and water depths can be expected.

The paper discusses the concept of traffic flow described by hyperbolic differential equations. In this paper the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards model (LWR model) is used to describe traffic flow. The said model uses two parameters to describe the traffic flow – density and average speed of vehicles. Numerical approximation of the LWR model is formulated through scalar conservation laws. The finite volume method is used for numerical results. The term of shock wave and propagation of rarefaction wave in traffic flow are described. This paper focuses on numerical simulation of traffic flow via fluid dynamics model for a single road with a traffic light. The results obtained in this paper are compared with previous studies.

Ovaj rad analizira primjenjivost mikrosimulacijskog prometnog modeliranja za analizu ekoloških i ekonomskih parametara koji se, uz funkcionalne parametre, ubrajaju u standardne kriterije ocjene varijantnih rješenja izgradnje i rekonstrukcije prometne infrastrukture. Studija slučaja napravljena je na primjeru rekonstrukcije raskrižju u urbanoj prometnoj mreži grada Osijeka. U radu je prikazan postupak projektiranja konstrukcije lukobrana kao privezišta plovila u Uvali Velopin na Malom Lošinju primjenom BIM tehnologije (Building Information Modeling). Ukazano je na važnost ulaznih podataka te njihov utjecaj na projektiranje. Pokazana je prednost primjene BIM tehnologije u okvirima parametarskog modeliranja ovakve vrste konstrukcije. Složena geometrija, uvjeti terena i opterećenja zahtijevaju različite vrste konstruktivnih elemenata te višestruke analize, što, uz probleme uzrokovane valovima, predstavlja izazov za projektiranje. Primjena računalnih programa Allplan i Scia je omogućila brzu i jednostavnu izradu i analizu više varijantnih rješenja u svrhu odabira optimalnog rješenja koje zadovoljava uvjete nosivosti, uporabljivosti i troškova izgradnje.

Drugi dio rada baziran je na izradi eksperimentalnih pokusa u hidrotehničkom laboratoriju Građevinskog fakulteta u Rijeci. In the field of spatial management, especially from the point of view of spatial economics, many decisions have long-term effects on the environment. Therefore, it is essential that the boundary conditions of the decision-making process are not only transparent, but also aligned with the sustainable development goals. At the same time, road infrastructure represents one of the most complex linear structures in the area, and its comprehensive management should respond to various types of problems, from structured to unstructured, which occur at all levels of decision-making. To solve such problems, management information systems (UIS) can help decision-makers to apply appropriate models and methods during the decision-making process. This paper provides an overview of the different types of UIS that can be used in road infrastructure management. The method of selecting an appropriate UIS and the method of interaction between data and models in such a management system are also discussed.

The paper describes in detail the tensile testing of steel for the reinforcement according to the HRN EN ISO 15630‐1:2010 norm. The aforementioned norm refers to the HRN EN ISO 6892‐1:2016 norm, which, due to the dependence of the mechanical properties of steel on the test speed, recommends method A that uses strain control. Tensile testing of steel for the reinforcement B500B was performed on three samples using method A1 of the same norm. The aim of the paper is to bring readers closer to the issue of ensuring the conditions for tensile testing of steel for the reinforcement with strain control and to provide guidelines for the application of the norm. The results of tensile test on steel for the reinforcement show that the Zwick Z 600E universal testing machine can provide strict tolerance limits on strain control rates.

The City of Bakar has transformed part of its waterfront which until recently was used exclusively for industrial purposes. Intervention resulted in a modernly designed public space. Although it seems that there are no comparable features with a developed and large city like New York, this paper will present two case studies that prove the opposite. The aim of the paper is to present the comparison and results of two waterfront brownfield transformations. The research includes methods of transforming waterfront areas in such a way that they become accessible to citizens and significantly improve the residents' life and urban space quality. The paper presents the application of certain methods during planning, designing, and landscaping, as well as the comparative results of different scales of coastal transformation.
