Discriminación de género en el mercado laboral: Una mirada desde los egresados de la Universidad Agraria-Ecuador 劳动力市场中的性别歧视:厄瓜多尔农业大学毕业生的观点

Discrimination affects all countries and limits the development of societies, Ecuador is no exception; Gender is considered a determining factor when it comes to getting a job. The objective of this study was to analyze gender discrimination in the labor market of graduates of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics of the Agrarian University of Ecuador, through the application of a semi-logarithmic model, together with Heckman’s bias correction. And the decomposition of Oaxaca-Blinder, the existence of salary gaps was evidenced. The study was non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional; the non-probabilistic design by quotas was used and considers a sample of 124 graduates. Among the main results, the existence of a salary gap between graduates of 8.4% was evidenced; where 56% is explained by unobservable factors attributable to discrimination. It is concluded that the years of education, experience, gender, age, level of education of the graduate, level of education of the father and the type of shift are significant determinants of income among graduates.

Procesos de atracción de personal en empresas familiares y no familiares ecuatorianas 厄瓜多尔家族企业和非家族企业的员工吸引过程

The ownership-family-company relationship present in family businesses generates a complexity of bonds, emotions and feelings that create a labor dynamic based on aspects different from those developed in other types of companies. The objective of the article is to compare the practices of personnel attraction, specifically the processes of planning, selection and recruitment of personnel, carried out by family and non-family businesses located in Manabí-Ecuador. It is a comparative research with a field, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of companies located in Manabí-Ecuador, registered in the official database issued by the Internal Revenue Service, from which a probabilistic sample of 278 companies was extracted. The results show that family and non-family firms present statistically significant differences in their personnel attraction practices related to planning, recruitment and selection. It is concluded that the presence of family members as employees and/or managers blurs business and family relationships, increases complexity and introduces mechanisms of discretionality in their processes of attracting personnel, so that they need more professionalized processes that allow them to make efficient use of their human resources.
