The increasing use of smart sensors in IoT applications enhances the scale of smart automation. The applications area of smart industries constitutes nonlinear load sensors at large level. The nonlinear characteristics of such components causes insertion of severe harmonic current and this result in performance deviation and system failure. It is clear that a wider area is IoT and improvement in power quality is challenge. This paper presents comprehensive review on power quality control and shunt active filters. Articles belong to the category of IoT, Active Power Filter and different types of improvement in power quality methods and were mainly published in a decade. The review of literature has been carried out by making category-based sections of papers issue wise or under sub-area. This comprehensive review will absolutely help to researchers for problem identification and research gap findings in most smart technologies.

Twenty First century electrical power network is becoming complex due to evolution of EV, integration of RE resources and use of semiconductor material-based device & appliance. This combination is giving a boost in power quality problem. The paper surveys the PQ issues based upon nonlinear loads, analysis by ETAP software to understand PQ issue, modified Newton-Raphson algorithm with and without SPV incorporation in the system and analysed to calculate discrete harmonics, Realtime harmonic estimation technique, EV charging & storage under RE resources to provide stabilization and regulation of system voltage, Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) based application, LCL filter-based method for increased output and equilibrium accuracy. This paper was reviewed in the domain of Power Quality issues to manage, investigate and find out research gap for development of control strategy.

Due to the rapid rise of digital data collection techniques, a vast amount of data has become available. Unstructured and unsaturated data account for more than 85 percent of present data. Finding acceptable trends and patterns to interpret text documents from huge amounts of data is a major challenge. The process of extracting valuable and nontrivial patterns from large amounts of text documents is known as text mining. There are a variety of strategies and tools for mining text for useful information for future forecasting and decision-making. To boost the speed and reduce the time and effort required to obtain important data, an appropriate and proper text mining methodology is applied. This paper discusses and analyses text mining techniques and their applicability in numerous areas of life. Furthermore, challenges in the field of text mining have been discovered, which have an impact on the accuracy and relevance of the results.

The Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) surrounds and communicates with the human body. Wearable and implantable tiny sized sensor nodes placed or attached on the human body collect the physiological data to achieve the continuous monitoring of patient’s health conditions. These sensor nodes depend on open wireless medium for effective transmission of vital and confidential information. For the purpose of overcoming the interference problem, spread spectrum modulation methods such as Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) and Frequency Hop Spread Spectrum (FHSS) have become widely used. If you use a typical spread spectrum modulation approach in the face of a reactive jammer, it is required for the transmitter and receivers to communicate pseudo-noise (PN) codes as a secret key for data transfer. Furthermore, if a jammer is aware of the Pseudo-Noise codes, it is capable of replicating the same secret Pseudo-Noise codes and so jamming the entire system. Therefore, strict security mechanisms are essential to enable a secure WBSN from various vulnerable attacks such as reactive jammer and eavesdropper. This paper reviews diverse relevant works associated with anti-jamming in wireless communication.

Throughout the years, several studies have been conducted on how to improve the health sector’s management and administration activities, as well as, most importantly, the healthcare delivered to its patients. In the health-care system, data is currently growing at an exponential rate. In this view, the deployment of technology capable of utilizing it in a constructive way for the company, assisting it in achieving its goals, is critical. Health data analytics, particularly analytics that are used for making predictions are being used as a tool for enabling more preventive treatment alternatives. Despite having access to an abundance of data, even though there is no actionable knowledge using which healthcare industry can make predictions. This is due to the fact that, despite its abundance, healthcare data is fundamentally complex and fragmented. Critical care that is also a part of healthcare areas, also facing a problem of increasing population as well as economic pressures, due to which it is difficult for most of the human beings to get required treatments. When we talk ICU patients their health frequently changes at every movement. When in a county most of the population is aged then there will be more need of ICUs due to the health problems of old people. Equally, patient expectations are increasing with the advancement of technology in healthcare sector, but it is not possible to deliver the required service due to increasing inflation. Better, more productive care is thus the big challenge. This paper we are going to examine the use of predictive analytics in healthcare sector as well as how it is different than the other sectors where the predictive analytics are being used. It also has been also discussed in this paper the various applications of predictive analytics in healthcare sector and the challenges that predictive analytics are facing in the healthcare sector.

Cloud is most recognized environment of computing due to the widely availability of its services to the users. Cloud data centers have adopted virtualization of resources technically known as virtual machines (VMs) for the effective and efficient computation of services. But power consumption through the cloud data centers (CDCs) highlighted as one of the major issues responsible to reduce the quality of services of Cloud computing. Because a large number of electronic resources like processing nodes, servers, disk storage, and networking nodes (i.e. switch/routers) in CDC consume a high degree of energy during computation. Energy is also consumed by cooling plants to cool the data centers as it produces a huge amount of heat (CO2) surrounding it. Due to the high energy consumption, the cloud providers pay a high cost of energy computation and it also contributes more carbon emissions to the atmosphere. Reducing energy consumption and CO2 emission is a major challenge in turning the computation from cloud computing to green computing. So, our main focus in this paper is to develop an energy-saving approach for cloud computing based on resource management. Due to variations in the request of services by the users, the demand for resources also varies during the computation. The amount of users’ request are not always same for all 24 hours in a day. Some period of time it is very low and at that period of time, many resources become idle and consume some fixed amount of energy that is a wastage of energy. In this manner, the proposed ESACR approach first define active (required) and idle (non-required) resources as per the users’ request for services at any instance; after that, it converts the idle resources into an energy-saving mode (i.e., turn OFF) unless it is not required for the service of users’ request. So that the saving of energy will increased, if at any instance all non-useable resources is define in OFF mode.
