In this paper, a novel local descriptor, named bilateral local binary patterns (BLBP) is proposed for rotation invariant texture retrieval. The proposed BLBP is based on the Local Binary Pattern operator (LBP) of combining phase and module information of images. For phase information, we use a projecting filter firstly to obtain an analytic signal of the input image and so the obtained image has explicit phase information, then the LBP operator is applied on it in order to achieve a histogram of phase to describe the local pattern of phase. For module information, we use LBP operator directly, then we can achieve a histogram of module to describe the local pattern of pixel variation. We introduce a linear relation between the two histograms to achieve a new histogram as the feature vector of texture image. Experimental results obtained from two databases demonstrate that the proposed BLBP can achieve higher retrieval rate than only using LBP for original images while the computational complexity is lower than using the phase information with LBP in the complex wavelet domain for rotation invariant image retrieval.

The scheme design of motor system energy-saving (MSES) has a significant influence on the effort to reduce energy consumption. The framework and functions of a decision support system (DSS) are proposed for selection and evaluation of the MSES scheme. It is from the perspective of systems engineering during the design process. In addition, ontology is introduced to represent knowledge and establish the relationship between concepts. Through the system, the scheme will be designed effectively and efficiently.

Users can annotate themselves using free tags in micro-blogging website such as Sina Weibo. The tags of a user demonstrate the characteristics of the user and are generally in a random order without any importance or relevance information. It limits the effectiveness of user tags in system recommendation and other applications. In this paper, we proposed a user tag ranking schema which is based on interactive relations between users. Influence strength between users is considered in our user tag ranking method. Relevance scores between tags and users are also utilized to rank user tags. Experiments are conducted on distributed processing framework Hadoop to process the very large Sina Weibo dataset which contains more than 140 million users. Experimental results show that our method outputs frequently used method and gives good performance.

The radio covering area in band shape could be produced by dual antennas system for directional transmitting (DASDT), which transmits radio signals in the same phase by two antennas. DASDT is a kind of transmitter that is compatible with the radio covering channel in band shape, and it could be applied in the environment of common radio covering channel in band shape, such as corridors, highways and railway. Under the conditions of the two signals fed to the dual antennas being in phase and the distance between those two antennas is λ/2, where λ is the wave length of the radio frequency, the mathematical equations for directional beam-forming could be deduced, and then the physical mode could also be derived. Many simulation results of beam patterns are given in this paper, and they could be used to confirm the effectiveness of the DASDT system for the directional beam-forming.

This paper provides that when the beam current increases to a certain level, the number of ions must be increased and the space charge effect must be added in accelerator physics in order to gain high precise status of ions. It's needed high performance computing to complete this work which needs TFLOPS level capability. So, a PC cluster based on Beowulf architecture and MPI2 was constructed, we put forward a parallel algorithm of divides and conquer according the mapping model of parallel problem, and we accomplished the simulation application of ions trajectory. In the end, we tested the application on different ions' simulation scale from 1.0E+4 to 1.0E+6. Experimental results show that optimized parallel algorithm gets 1.12~2.03 times on average speedup under the premise of guarantee accuracy. The best speedup is 2.52 when the number of ion is 1.0E+6 and the loop times is 1000. The simulation computation time is one third of be-fore. The success transplantation of ion parallel simulation software shows the superiority of the parallel computing and the validity of PC cluster. Additionally, it may be a good reference to other applications.

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is an integrated software package applied by many enterprises as an operations platform over the past years. However, according to an industrial survey, the failure rate of ERP system implementation is relatively high because of high implementation costs and long implementation time, incapable implementation teams, process misfits, resistance to change and inadequate training. This paper proposes a Value Engineering (VE)-based framework that combines the System Dynamics (SD) method to support implementation of ERP systems. Within the framework, VE is a systematic, functionally oriented method for generating decision alternatives, whereas SD can simulate the possible outcomes in terms of the generated decision alternatives so that a suitable strategic decision for the ERP implementation can be evaluated and selected. The proposed method is applied to a SAP R/3 implementation case in the manufacturing industry. The application case shows that the method can achieve a positive result indicating the high value-added output of ERP systems implementation.

Current source code version control systems can deal with the multiple versions of files containing text content such as source code or plain text. However, it needs a general tool for the versioning control for binary files such as office documents. The multiple version file systems can handle the file system versioning in general. But they are difficult to implement as sitting in the kernel level. They make multiple versions for all files, which is usually not necessary. This paper proposes LvFS, a lightweight file version tool, to handle the multi-version files. LvFS is a user level application. LvFS embraces the FUSE interface to tracking the modifications of files and store the modifications in a separate file. LvFS can keep the multiple versions of a general binary file to keep low performance overhead.

Based on zero-block detection method in H.264/AVC, the directional characteristic of the SAD(Sum of Absolute Differences Distortion), the centre-biased characteristic of motion vectors, and by analyzing the characteristics of OCTBS(Octagon-based Search), MOCTBS (Modified Octagon-based Search) algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, MOCTBS employs small octagon pattern to judge if the MBD (Minimum Block Distortion) point located in the circle of one pixel around the initial search centre. If the MBD point does not locate in the one pixel circle around the initial search centre or no zero-block was detected, large octagon pattern will be used in the next search step. In order to speed up the motion estimation, zero-block detection method is used in the whole processing of block-matching motion estimation to terminate the search process as early as possible. Experimental results show that MOCTBS can speed up the motion estimation process greatly under the same encoding efficiency compared to OCTBS, especially for those video sequences with simple and slow motion vectors.

This paper presents the concept of electromagnetic satellite formation flight (EMFF), a novel propulsion mode of controlling the relative motion of satellite formation without propellant consumption. The alternative actuation system utilizes electromagnetic force, generated by the interaction of electromagnets around component spacecrafts, to transform the configuration. The linear equation of relative motion and stable analytical solution for circle reference orbit are then established. The optimal reconfiguration problem of a two-spacecraft electromagnetic formation in low earth circular orbit is solved using optimal control techniques. The objective of the reconfiguration is to maneuver the formation between two stable elliptic configurations based on CW equation. The optimality criteria considered is minimum time. Gauss pseudospectral method is applied to convert the problem into nonlinear programming (NLP) which can be solved by sequential quadratic programming (SQP). Numerical simulation indicates that the Gauss pseudospectral method can effectively converge to optimal solution, and it can be applied to other non-contact forces satellite formation. It also proves that the electromagnetic actuation technology is feasible for satellite formation reconfiguration.

In this paper, a multi-objective programming model for optimizing the topology of a practical industrial network control systems is established on the basis of the analysis of IP packets through each link, and then solved by Genetic Algorithm(GA). To ensure the effectiveness of GA, this paper proposes an individual coding scheme and its valid criterion, designs a set of specific genetic operators based on Gene Ring operation, and modifies the default parameters of corresponding switches in the practical system through simulation and calculation. The results show that the model and the algorithm can effectively reduce the network load and optimize the topology without the necessity for changing in the links of the control system by adding cost.
