Corona virus transmission is very fast. In a span of 2 months, this virus has spread to 28 countries, infected more than 40,000 people and killed more than 1,000 people in China. This has caused many people to panic so that they misunderstand information and are consumed by hoaxes. The application of risk communication that combines elements of speed and accuracy is very important in preventing transmission of the Corona virus. Where the social and economic impacts resulting from the dissemination of misinformation can be more severe than the spread of the virus itself. For this reason, this activity was carried out with the aim of controlling the chaos and information that developed in the community, so that it did not become a new disaster. Governments, research institutes and other authorities must be able to communicate science-based risks to foster public trust. The goal is so that the public can be more alert, prepare themselves, and reduce the impact caused by the Corona virus. Society needs explanation not only by bureaucrats, but also scientific explanation by experts. Scientists and governments must be present to fill in the information gaps. Because if it is not filled in, it can provide room for hoaxes to emerge. To get a perspective from the world of health, in the implementation of this activity the lecturers of the Communication Science study program collaborated with the lecturers of the Medicine study program at Abdurrab University Pekanbaru.

The Covid-19 pandemic encourages the vigilance of various elements of society to take precautions, including in rural areas. This community service activity aims to provide assistance in designing outdoor media for the Covid-19 prevention campaign in Desa Sungaibuluh, Singingi Hilir, Kuantan Singingi. This activity involves the subject of activity from determining the design concept, types of media, to production. The design process also pays attention to design principles, namely the selection of shapes, illustrations, colors, typography, and messages. This activity produced two types of media that were considered effective for the Covid-19 prevention campaign in rural areas, namely billboards and banners. Both of these media are installed in public places and crowds.

Community service is based on research and method development. Against the backdrop of the effort to give birth to Islamic psychological interventions, the researcher tried to design a gratefulness training module. The gratefulness training model is a theistic psychological intervention which is the development of a training model taken from the concept of gratitude by Ibn Qayyim Aljauziyah. What distinguishes it is the conceptualization and emphasis of intervention in several ways. The method development is combining the concept of Gratitude with gratefulness in a training forum as a psychological intervention. The hope is that gratefulness training can be applied, conducted research, and can be considered as a single intervention or additional intervention, especially for Muslims. The participants of the gratefulness training were 20 people in the Taklim Council in Pekanbaru City.

Matematika merupakan salah satu Mata Pelajaran yang sangat Penting sehingga banyak sekali metode yang muncul untuk membantu siswa dalam menguasai matematika. Salah satu metode tersebut adalah Metode Gasing. Untuk dapat menerapkan mtode tersebut maka dilakukan Pelatihan Gasing. Pelatihan matematika Gasing ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman siswa terhadap penggunaan metode ini. Adapun yang menjadi fokus pelatihan adalah siswa kelas 6 Sekolah Dasar negeri 012 Kualu Tambang Kampar. Jumlah sampel yang diambil pada pelatihan ini adalah sebanyak 20 orang. Metode GASING ini menitikberatkan pada pokok bahasan penjumlahan dan perkalian dua digit pada siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan rata‐ rata nilai posttest dengan Matematika Gasing sebesar 69,75 dan proses pembelajarannya secara konvensional sebesar 57,25 serta Uhitung = 64 dan Utabel = 70. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan metode ini sangat signifikan pengaruhnya terhadap siswa dalam memahami matematika.

The importance of environmental awareness must receive a special attention from public especially in Pekanbaru which is often affected by environmental demage such as wildfire or illegal logging. The existence of Balai Diklat Lingkungan dan Kehutanan (BDLHK) of Pekanbaru is expected to be able to provide the valid and educative information about environmental issues. Refers to those issues, they need to improve their abiltity to manage institusion’s company profile, informnation management through social media platform, and creating educative, creative, and persuasive content in stop motion video. The purpose of using social media platform is to achieve the society especially youth generation. There are three outputs of this event. first, basic training of making intitusion company profile, second, stop motion video, third, do the social campaign through social media. Hopefully the contribution of this program will be sustainable going forward.

Along with the increasing need for non-perishable foodstuffs, hazardous chemical food additives (FA) such as borax and formalin are widely used in the food industry, such as in making wet noodles, meatballs, rice cake, tofu, and others. This dangerous chemical FA is usually used as a food preservative, even though these chemicals are poisonous and dangerous to human health so that their use is strictly prohibited by the government. In order to anticipate the wider negative impact of the use of hazardous chemical FA added to foodstuffs, it is necessary to carry out counseling and socialization activities regarding healthy food free of hazardous chemical FA by mastering the technology for identifying food additives and handling them. This activity uses a method of mentoring the community learning process in the form of counseling and training. The target of the socialization activity was the majelis taklim of Babussalam Mosque, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The overall implementation of the activity exceeded the desired target because 96% of the participants understood food additives, 83.3% understood tips on recovering healthy and hazardous FA-free food, and 84% were interested in making hazardous chemical FA detection tools.

Banyak pasangan yang memasuki pernikahan tanpa memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk membina rumah tangga, sehingga tidak heran banyak kita temui pernikahan yang berujung pada perceraian. Penelitian membuktikan salah satu cara untuk dapat menurunkan angka perceraian ialah dengan memberikan pelatihan pranikah bagi pasangan yang akan menikah. Banyak variasi dari pelatihan pranikah, namun belum ada yang disusun berdasarkan kelimuan psikologi dan islam. Pengabdi adalah praktisi psikologi di bidang pernikahan dan keluarga dan pengajar di perguruan tinggi islam, menyusun sebuah pelatihan pranikah dengan mengintegrasikan ilmu psikologi dan islam. Ada empat materi yang disampaikan dalam pelatihan ini, yaitu esensi (alasan, tujuan, dan fungsi menikah) pernikahan dalam psikologi dan islam, keterampilan komunikasi, keterampilan pengelolaan konflik, dan keterampilan pengelolaan keuangan keluarga. Pengabdian dilaksanakan pada KUA Marpoyan Damai Pekanbaru pada tanggal 9 dan 23 Oktober 2018, dengan jumlah peserta 20 orang atau 10 pasangan yang akan menikah. Meski terdapat keterbatasan waktu dalam pelaksanaan, pelatihan ini dinilai peserta memberikan manfaat. Rekomendasi pelaksanaan pelatihan dapat dilakukan dalam waktu yang lebih memadai sesuai dengan modul yang telah disusun.

The Akit tribe is the original tribe of Rupat Island who is used to living hunting and gathering. The Akit tribe is one of the remote indigenous communities (KAT) in Riau Province. This service aims to utilize and process rubber seeds with pellet technology as animal feed for laying quail rations as an effort to improve the welfare of the community. The service method is the Community Based Research (CBR) method, which is a method where the community takes part in this research and service process. The results show that community service activities generate 80 - 90% feedback from the community, even though most people have low levels of education but still easily understand the material. Furthermore, the ration consumption during quail maintenance was 19.65 - 22.01%, the weight of quail eggs was 6.66 - 8.35% and the ration conversion was 2.36 - 3.43. The conclusion of this service is that fermented pellet ration up to 6% of rubber seed flour be used as laying quail feed with the community based research (CBR) service model to motivate breeders to increase their business in raising quail in a sustainable

Islamic household financial management is one of the important things that must be done by every Muslim household, in helping to create a harmonious family. Assistance in Islamic household financial management at SMKN 01 teachers in Siak Regency aims to increase public knowledge about Islamic household financial management in accordance with the concept of Islamic finance. Community service activities begin with preparation for implementation, namely by surveying the school by providing a schedule of activities and materials to be discussed with teachers. Activities are carried out using lecture and discussion methods as well as the practice of making Islamic financial planning. The material is in the form of an explanation of the concept of Islamic household financial management. Steps to manage finances based on Islamic concepts, as well as the practice of making financial planning in accordance with islamic financial management.

One of the economic potentials of the community of Rumbai Jaya Village, Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency is the production of local coconut derivatives. The purpose of service is to create cooperation or collaboration between farmers and village-owned enterprises in marketing brown sugar products. Service Method, the service team provides assistance in the form of facilitating farmers to institutionalize farmers to work together with the Village-Owned Enterprises in marketing brown sugar to a wider market reach. The result of dedication is the collaboration between the farmers of Village Owned Enterprises, to market brown sugar products to a wider market reach.
