A lot of services in the field of business and government are provided through software services available via the Internet. Such services often require access to user information. Instead of storing this information on each service, which may be a threat to the integrity and privacy of the data, it is proposed to form the user’s digital identity as an ontology that will be stored on the user’s device and provided to the services upon request. In this paper, the service for filling in user information in the ontology of a digital identity based on data from social networks and public services is proposed.

In the middle of 2018, 3GPP approved the first version of the novel radio access technology for 5G systems called New Radio (NR). One of the most important novelties of NR compared to the existing Long-Term Evolution technology is the ability to configure physical layer parameters. In particular, for each user a base station can adaptively select duration of a slot used for data transmission. In this paper, we show that the new feature can be used for improving performance of web services. We propose an algorithm which adaptively selects slot duration depending on the amount of user data enqueued at the base station. Performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm with NS-3 simulator shows significant improvement of web pages download rate.

In these last years, the efforts spent by national and international Space agencies to promote the Mars exploration configure a true rush, whose final goal should be a manned mission, with the active participation of human personnel in-situ. In this paper, we are dealing with the communication aspects of Martian missions. The communication tasks of a Space mission are twofold: first the different unmanned (and, in the near future, manned) exploration entities should exchange information among themselves; then, the collected and processed data should be sent to Earth. For the inter-planetary connection, satellites will provide the necessary long-haul. For the Martian planetary segment, the state-of-the-art solutions are mainly based on terrestrial WLAN and/or WSN standards, in order to make different sensors to communicate in short range. Our solution is based on the deployment of a Martian wireless network infrastructure based on LTE. LTE on Mars (namely: LTE-M) would provide a robust and flexible communication infrastructure, characterized by large bandwidth availability for rover and lander communications, suitable to be exploited also for efficient human-to-human data exchange when manned missions will be planned. The adaptability of terrestrial LTE uplink and downlink transmission has been tested by simulating the RF Martian environment, with the most significant propagation impairments. The achieved results will be focused on providing some guidelines for future LTE-M actual deployment.

The article presents the results of experiments conducted using receiver and transmitter modules of a wireless optical communication system implemented on Arduino Uno computational platform. Experiments were done to determine the boundary frequencies of the developed modules and communication quality scores under various conditions. The circuit solutions to increase the optical clock frequency and reduce the influence of various types of ambient lighting on the quality indicators of the optical communication channel are proposed.

Information technologies progress in various industries cause the development of security technologies, in particular – network intrusion detection systems (NIDS). The authors identified the main features of modern enterprise networks in terms of security and their requirements for NIDS. The paper proposes a new associated graph set (AGS) model of enterprise network for network intrusion detection systems developmentthat meet these requirements. the novelty of the work is in the AGS – model, heterogeneous two-tier NIDS analytics architecture, a method of data collection and an additional method of network data analysis based on AGS.

Current 4G mobile communication systems are relying on LTE standard and on its evolution, namely LTE-A. Thanks to its widespread diffusion and to the capability of efficiently supporting broadband multimedia data exchange, LTE considers some particular extensions of the standard for private mobile radio (PMR) networks in the framework of public security communications. Unfortunately, some open issues of LTE in terms of vulnerability to security attacks may hinder such kind of safety-critical applications. In this paper, we propose a novel solution to one of these issues, namely the primary synchronization signal (PSS) spoofing, based on a new set of quadriphase sequences: the Even-Odd-Equivalent (EOE) pseudo De Bruijn (DB) sequences, obtained by a simple transformation of binary De Bruijn sets. EOE pseudo DB sets are characterized by equal even and odd crosscorrelation, near-impulsive autocorrelation and very large cardinality. This last feature makes the use of EOE pseudo DB sets an efficient countermeasure against PSS spoofing. As compared with the standard solution based on the use of Constant-Amplitude Zero Autocorrelation (CAZAC) Frank-Zadoff-Chu (FZC) sequences, the proposed solution increases the PSS robustness against spoofing attacks, performing very close to FZC in terms of cell ID detection probability.
