The orange-bellied swamp snake (Tretanorhinus nigroluteus) is considered a rare species in Mexico; there are few specific records of its presence in the country. They are known to feed on amphibians (anurans) and fish of different species (Families Gobidae and Poecilidae). We report the first record of freshwater snails (Pachychilus largillierti) as prey of T. nigroluteus.

We report the first record of the snake Geophis lorancai for the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The species was previously known only from the type localities in the Sierra de Zongolica in Veracruz and the Sierra de Quimixtlán in Puebla, as well as from some additional recently-discovered localities in central Veracruz. The discovery of G. lorancai in Oaxaca brings the state herpetofaunal list up to 481 species as of 2022.

We record the new highest elevation of two endemic lizards from Mexico. Our records for the Largescale Spiny Lizard Sceloporus megalepidurus Smith, 1934 extends 310 m its previous highest record, from 3,080 to 3,390 m in Peñon de Tlaxco, and for the Eastern Spiny Lizard S. spinosus Wiegmann, 1828 extends 360 m its previous highest record, from 2,670 to 3,030 m in the volcano La Malinche, both records in Tlaxcala, Mexico. We discuss our observations in the context of global climate change, habitat alterations, and the ecological implications in the new environment.

During field surveys conducted in 2021 in the Middle Magdalena River Valley, Colombia, we recorded a new dietary item for the snake Epicrates maurus, consisting of the rodent species Zygodontomys brevicauda. When photographed, the snake regurgitated the partially digested mouse, which was identified from its dental and cranial characters. The present record contributes to the knowledge about the dietary spectrum of E. maurus in northern South America.

Two more species are reported for the Pico Bonito National Park, one from the Dactyloidae family and another from the Colubridae family, thus increasing the herpetofauna from 82 to 84 species, at the same time the distribution of the species Norops capito (Peters, 1863) is expanded to the north of Honduras, this being the first record for the department of Atlántida.
