THE INFLUENCE OF SUPPLEMENTING ELLAGIC ACID TO BROILER DIETS ON PRODUCTIVITY AND WHITE BLOOD CELL DIFFERENTIAL COUNTS 饲粮中添加鞣花酸对肉鸡生产能力和白细胞差异计数的影响

This study has been carried out in the animal field of the college of agricultural engineering sciences, university of Baghdad, for the period from 12/15/2021 to 1/26 /2022 for 42 d, to investigate the effect of adding different levels of ellagic acid to the diet of broilers, on some physiological characteristics & oxidation indicators in meat compared to vitamin C in meat, 225 Ross 308 chicks were used, divided randomly to five treatments such us: T1: control group without additives to diet, & the other T2, T3, T4 was added ellagic acid (0.25, 0.5 and 0.75 mg/ kg diet) respectively and T5: was added vitamin C 0.5 mg/ kg, the birds were given ellagic acid & vitamin C from day one to the end of the experiment, the study results were showed a significant differences increase (P<0.05) improved at T4 treatment in the first & second week & in T2 and T4. in the 4th and 5th weeks treatment T2 was superior, to show a significant advantage of the control treatment & T1,T2 in the 2nd week for the trait of overweight, in the 4th and 5th weeks the treatment T2 was superior for the total weight gain, there was an improvement in the feed conversion in 4th week in T2, in the 5th week the treatment T2 was superior, there was a significantly superior in T2 for total weight gain rate, there was a significant increase in the feed conversion in T1 and T4 in the 2nd week.

COMPARISON BETEEEN THE CONSUMPTION OF RED MEAT AND WHITE MEAT FOR ASAMPLE OF CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF BAGHDAD/ AN EXPLORATORY STUDY 以巴格达市市民为例,红肉和白肉消费比较/一项探索性研究

Three hundred Iraqi people participated in demographic and attitudes study about red and white meat consumption. The mean age of the participants was 50 SD ± 11 years (mean 30-72); 51% were females and 49% males, mostly in forties who lived ≥ 5 years in Baghdad. The results showed that 80% of individuals prefer red meat. A 90% of people prefer fresh meat compared to frozen and processed meat. A 60% of people buy meat from popular markets. Nearly 87% of respondents believe the improving of livestock sector is essential and 80% of people confirmed there are obstacles to development this sector. An 80% of participates thought the reasons of the high prices of local fresh meat is the lack of planning and support to livestock sector. A survey also include chronic diseases assessment, a 60% of the individuals suffer from some chronic diseases, 23% of them suffer from cardiovascular diseases, 13% from diabetes, 21% had arthritis, and 3% were exposed to various types of benign or malignant tumors. In addition, the study appeared 30% of the sample suffered from gastrointestinal diseases such as diarrhea, colic, colitis, and acidity of the stomach and 21% were suffering from urinary problems. It has noticed that there is risk factor of urinary system diseases, arthritis and diabetes with excessive consumption of red meat. We recommend more attention to the local livestock sector and urging people to eat moderation of fresh and white meat, reduce red meat consumption.

STUDY OF YIELD AND ITS COMPONENTS OF INTRODUCED VARIETIES OF MAIZE UNDER DIFFERENT PLANTING DENSITIES 不同种植密度下引种玉米品种产量及其构成因素研究

In order to evaluate the performance of introduced varieties of maize and test them under different levels of plant density, and to determine which of the introduced varieties give a high yield and at what plant density, a field experiment was carried out at Station A in the Department of Field Crops- College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - University of Baghdad- Jadiriyah, for the fall season 2021, the RCBD design was used with four replications, in a split plot arrangement, the three plant densities (50.000, 70.000, and 90.000 Plant s ha-1) were the main plates, while the varieties represented the secondary factor, which is six varieties of maize, class 2 = 5783 DKC, Class 3 = 6315 DKC, Class 4= 6590 DKC, which are introduced and compared with three local varieties: Fajr, Sarah and Al-Maha, The traits of yield components (the ear length, the number of rows ear-1, the number of grains row-1, the number of grains ear-1, the number of ears, the weight of 100 grain) and their relationship to the plant yield were studied, The plant density significantly affected all the studied traits except for the number of ears, it was not significant. Low plant density outperformed the highest plant yield (157.2 g) due to its superiority in ear length, number of rows ear-1, number of grains row-1, number of grains ear-1 and weight of 100 grains. The plant over the local varieties, especially variety 3, which gave the highest plant yield (168.2 g), followed by variety 4 (155.4 g), due to their superiority in ear length, number of grains row-1, number of grains ear-1, number of ears, and weight of 100 grains. The interaction between varieties and plant density was significant in all studied traits. We suggest planting the introduced varieties at different planting dates and locations to show their ability to environmentally imprint Iraq's climate and study them in the spring season, and test them under other abiotic stresses such as drought.

STUDY OF BASIC CHEMICAL COMPONENTS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF LEMONGRASS LEAVES (Cymbopogon citratus) 柠檬香茅叶的基本化学成分及抑菌活性研究

The study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity using different concentrations of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of dried lemongrass leaves. Chemical phytochemical tests were performed for aqueous and alcoholic extracts of lemongrass. Antimicrobials activity was tested using agar disc diffusion method against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The results of the study showed that the aqueous extract of dried lemon leaves was highly effective (P≤0.05) against S. aureus, as the inhibition diameter was 22 mm for 50 dilution, while the inhibition diameter decreased to 15 mm for concentration 100. As for the alcoholic extract only, the diameter of inhibition decreased significantly (P≤0.05) as it was 16 mm for 50 dilution, and the diameter of inhibition decreased significantly (P≤0.05) to 8 mm for concentration 100 for S. aureus as well. The results of the study also showed that the effect of the alcoholic extract of lemongrass against E. coli was high, as the inhibition diameter was 20 mm for dilution 50, and a significant decrease (P≤0.05) fell to 12 mm for concentration 100. While the results of the study showed that the effect of alcoholic extract of lemongrass against E. coli the diameter of the inhibition was 14 mm for the dilution of 50, and it decreased significantly (P≤0.05) to zero for the concentration of 100. From all of that, we conclude that both the aqueous and alcoholic extract.

THE ROLE OF ELECTRONIC MARKETING IN PROMOTING THE PRODUCTS OF THE NATIONAL INDUSTRY IN IRAQ 电子营销在促进伊拉克民族工业产品方面的作用

The research aims to clarify the role of electronic marketing and what it can achieve in promoting the products of the national industry in Iraq. Marketing channel depends on modern communication and information technology that industrial and metal companies can use in promoting and selling their products along with traditional marketing outlets. To achieve the objectives of the research, a questionnaire was used, which consists of three axes, the first includes the personal data of the sample (gender, age, educational attainment, place of residence, marital status, income level), while the second axis includes various questions about the products of the national industry. Third axis includes questions to analyze the role of e-marketing in promoting for the products of the national industry, the validity of the tool was confirmed using the validity of the arbitrators, as well as the reliability of the tool was confirmed using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, where the total value of stability was (0.93), which is a very high degree, It was distributed to (1810) consumers from the city of Baghdad. Then data was analyzed using the SAS statistical program. The research concluded that e-marketing affects the promoting the products of the national industry through its contribution to the rapid delivery of the national product to consumers, reducing costs, time and effort, and facilitating the production system, plus to simplified electronic reservation of the national product. The research recommends that national industry companies should build and develop their own websites on the internet to enhance their presence in the electronic market and communicate with current and prospective customers to expand market share and increase profits.

The research concluded that e-marketing affects the promoting the products of the national industry through its contribution to the rapid delivery of the national product to consumers, reducing costs, time and effort, and facilitating the production system, plus to simplified electronic reservation of the national product. Electromyography (EMG) is being explored for evaluating muscle activity. For gait analysis, EMG needs to be small, lightweight, portable device, and with low power consumption. The proposed superficial EMG (sEMG) system is aimed to be used in rehabilitation centers and biomechanics laboratories for gait analysis in Iraq. The system is built using MyoWare, which is controlled by using STM32F100 microcontroller. The sEMG signal is transferred via Bluetooth to the computer (about 30m range) for further processing. MATLAB is used for sEMG signal conditioning. The overall system cost (without computer) is about $80. The proposed system is validated using wired NORAXON EMG using the mean root mean squared method. The results showed a root mean squared error between (0.216% − 43.14%).¬¬¬

The study was conducted at research station A, department of field crops, college of agricultural engineering sciences, university of Baghdad during summer 2021 to evaluate the effect of boron and some growth regulators on some growth criteria and yield of soybean crop (cv. shimaa). The experiment was carried out according to split plots by using randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plots included three concentrations of boron (75, 150 and 225) mg.L-1, the sub-plots included three levels of growth regulators, spraying kinetin (100 mg. L-1), spraying ethrel (200 mg.L-1) and spraying kinetin (100 mg.L-1) + spraying ethrel (200 mg.L-1) as well as spraying of distilled water as control treatment. The findings revealed that the spraying of ethrel at 200 mg.L-1 gave the lower means of plant height (114.68 cm), and gave the higher means of No. of branches (5.60 branch. plant-1), leaf area (97.86 dcm2), plant dry weight (206.64 g plant-1) and this led to give higher means of seed yield (2.715 ton. ha-1), while the concentrations of growth regulators did not significantly affect the leaf area index. Boron concentrations affected most of studied traits, 150 mg.L-1 of boron effect on most of traits and gave higher means of plant height (143.93cm), No. of branches (6.21 branch plant-1), leaf area (111.53 dcm2 plant), leaf area index (7.47), plant dry weight (246.45 g), this led to give higher means of seed yield (3.071 ton.ha-1). Result showed that boron and some growth regulators interaction have a significant effect on some characteristics under study. A field experiment was carried out at the research station of the College of Agriculture - Wasit University / Kut, during the fall season 2021 in soil with texture (sandy mixture) using the RCBD design in the arrangement of splintered plates and with three replications, to study the effect of spraying different combinations of organic emulsion (Appetizer) and NPK nano fertilizer with urea fertilizer on the growth of synthetic cultivars of yellow corn. During the research, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05 % of stevia sweetener was added to the cream instead of the sugar used. Physical and chemical tests were performed for the stevia extract and the microbial content in the cream, as well as the sensory evaluation. It was noted that fortifying the cream with calorie-free stevia sugar led to the production of a cream with excellent texture, color and taste, with a very desirable sweetness and flavor, and the absence of any strange taste or flavor.
