A Combined Representation to Refine the Knowledge Using a Neuro-Symbolic Hybrid System applied in a Problem of Apple Classification 基于神经符号混合系统的知识精炼组合表示在苹果分类问题中的应用

In this paper we present the model of a Neuro- Symbolic Hybrid System (NSHS) that allows us to refine the knowledge associated to specific problem, for example, in problem of objects classification, where most of the systems of artificial vision use a numeric approach to solve the problem. In order to do this refinement we use one criterion of the NSHS known as, knowledge representation type. The knowledge representation type used in this paper is called combined representation, which is a combination among a local representation and a distributed representation. The proposed NSHS model allows the integration of the numeric and symbolic knowledge in order to obtain refinement knowledge. In this work, numeric knowledge comes from a vision system and symbolic knowledge comes from a human expert in apple classification. We give a brief description of each phase of the proposed model and analysis of the results obtained for every approach (symbolic, connectionist and hybrid) are made. The obtained results demonstrated that, if a lack of knowledge exists, the NSHS model can be used to refine the knowledge.

An Approach to Structured Parallel Programming Based on a Composition 一种基于组合的结构化并行编程方法

This article presents a programming methodology based on High Level Parallel Compositions or CPAN (according to its Spanish acronym) within a methodological infrastructure made up of an environment of Parallel Objects, an approach to Structured Parallel Programming and the Object- Orientation paradigm. By means of the method application, the parallelization of commonly used communication patterns among processes is presented, which is initially constituted by the CPANs Farm, Pipe and TreeDV that represent, respectively, the patterns of communication Farm, Pipeline and Binary Tree, the latter one used within a parallel version of the design technique known as Divide and Conquer. As the programming environment used to derive the proposed CPANs, we use C++ and the POSIX standard for thread programming.

Enhancement and Restoration of Alaryngeal Speech Signals 喉部语音信号的增强与恢复

Alaryngeal speech enhancement and restoration systems are proposed to improve the intelligibility and quality of speech signal produced by either an electronic larynx or by using esophageal methods. The enhancement system reduces the background noise produced by the electronic larynx, while the restoration systems identify the voiced segments of alaryngeal speech signal, by using pattern recognition methods, and replaces these by their equivalent voiced segments of normal speech. Evaluation results show that proposed systems provides a fairly good improvement of the quality and intelligibility of ALT generated speech.

Improving the Digital Design with Semi-formal Specification 利用半形式化规范改进数字化设计

In this work, an improvement of the traditional design methodology is proposed. The major change is the use of semi-formal specification for the implementation and the establishment of properties for the formal verification. From semi-formal specification, assertions were written using Property Specification Language (PSL) for an alignment circuit. Finally, a set of properties for the verification of this module were established and proved using two verification tools. Our statistics proved that, considerable design time was saved, and the number of versions was low.

The methodologies for the Attenuation prediction models due to rain attenuation in frequencies above 10 GHz can be separated by utilization of the input data. The methods based in measurement and experimental data. The last one method is founded on databases from automatic meteorological stations located in different climatic zones within given geographical zone. ' One of the most used method using empiric data it is based in ITU logical process. This methodology has the technical name of ITU-R P.618 Recommendation: "Propagation data and prediction methods required for the design of Earth-space telecommunication systems". As is mentioned this Recommendation, it is extremely important that the methods for the propagation prediction parameters demonstrate in Recommendation P.618 be imported for planning Earth-space links in frequencies above to 10 GHz [1]. Following the regards above, the process to computation of long-term rain attenuation statistics from point rainfall rate is next developed.

Machine Vision Using Penumbra Analysis 使用半影分析的机器视觉

Machine vision is the ability of a computer system to recognize object shapes, size, color, or distance to some point. Here we present a system capable to recognize the size of an object as well as its distance to an observation plane, by using the shadow that the object produces on this plane. The shadow is formed by a dark zone called umbra and an intermediate zone between the dark zone and the bright one called penumbra. The penumbra is used to correlate the diameter of the object producing it and the distance to the plane where the shadow is projected. The system is capable of measuring milimetric dimensions, with a precision of tenths of a milimeter,and to evaluate its distance to the plane with the same precision. MATLAB is used as the computing engine. Experimental results are reported.

Simulation Platform for MIMO Systems MIMO系统仿真平台

A computer simulator package for MIMO systems is presented. This simulator is highly configurable, easily extensible, and can generate exhaustive performance and complexity measurements. Examples of use and capabilities are shown. The simulator’s source code has been released to the research community under an open-source license.

The objective of this work is the design and development of a communications sofhare system, using GPS and GPRS technologies. Technology advances arise new challenges for companies, and the need of connectivz@ of these companies increases. Package delivery, product testing, and control mobile technology systems in production and assembly lines are important aspects to be controlled in an enterprise. Using mobile communications technology and the appropriate devices and software, these issues can be achieved at a very low cost for a company. In a production center of a company, a motor vehicle can be equipped with sensors devices to report data to a gathering device. This data, along with the current coordinates obtained $-om the GPS service, can be transferred in real time using GPRS to an internet sewer for data storage of the variables sensed. It can also be used for tracking a vehicle. This communicatzon software maps the points captured, the exact location of the vehicle can be known even in as they occur. This paper resumes the design amd implementation of the Communications Application Soflare Interface Module that use of GPS and GPRS services for reporting acquired data such as sensed values or global coordinates for the visualization of the remote variables sensed fiom the mobile elements using the Internet.
