The problem of diffraction of electromagnetic plane waves from a perfectly conducting periodic strip grating is solved when the grating lies at the half-space interface between a lossy ferromagnetic medium and free space. Rigorous solution is obtained by a Riemann-Hilbert approach.

A hybrid mode-matching spectral domain approach for evaluation of complex permittivity of lossy materials in cylindrical cavity 圆柱腔中损耗材料复介电常数的混合模式匹配谱域法

The cylindrical cavity resonator method is presented to evaluate the complex relative permittivity of lossy materials. The loaded sample in the cavity is required to have the rotational symmetry but may have bulky and/or wide sample. To measure the sample at the specified frequency with high Q, movable dielectric supports with low permittivity and low loss are loaded in cavity. Theoretical basis of the method is the hybrid electromagnetic field analysis, i.e. the extended spectral domain approach combined with mode-matching method (ESDMM). The proposed evaluation method is verified with virtual experiments as well as actual measurements.

Analytical Regularization Method for TE-modes in hollow waveguides modelling 中空波导te模建模的解析正则化方法

Mathematically strong and numerically efficient approach for simulation of waveguides and cylindrical resonators of arbitrary profile in the case of H-(TE-) polarized waves is suggested. The approach is based on new implementation of Analytical Regularization Method. Special attention paid to methods of the profiles infinitely smoothing, which gives a possibility to achieve a super-algebraic (faster any algebraic) rate of the method convergence.

A novel multi-frequency printed quadrifilar helix antenna based on Multiple arm technique is presented in this paper. Double frequency and satisfactory antenna characteristics are achieved. The antenna has relatively compact size and hemispherical pattern with excellent circularly polarized coverage. The antenna is designed and simulated with the application of HFSS software. The simulation results and analyses are presented.

A predicting methodology of scattering by clusters of multi-objects/systems based on plane wave database 基于平面波数据库的多目标/系统散射预测方法

A predicting methodology of scattering by a cluster of multi-objects/systems is proposed in this paper. In this predicting methodology, a representation of scattering by each object/system in the cluster is formulated with plane waves. Then an equation based on this plane wave representation is established for formulating interaction among objects/systems in the cluster. Finally, the equation is efficiently solved with iterative solvers, and the scattering by the cluster is computed. The accuracy and efficiency of this predicting methodology are well validated by various numerical experiments. The numerical performance of the equation for the interaction is also studied in detail. It is shown that the equation established in this paper converges much faster than those in the fast multipole method (FMM). Since the plane wave representation for each object/system can be determined by either measurement or simulation, this predicting methodology can well integrate the measured data and simulation results together for predicting scattering by very complex clusters. Furthermore, since the plane wave representation of each object/system can be established as a database and reused in other clusters, this predicting methodology has high efficiency.

Study on multi-walled carbon nanotube resonator 多壁碳纳米管谐振腔的研究

A carbon nanotube (CNT) half-wavelength resonator is designed and analyzed in this paper. The electrical characteristics of the resonator are predicted based on the equivalent circuit model of multi-walled CNT (MWCNT). The propagation behavior in the resonator is presented with the influence of MWCNT diameter and operating frequency taken into account. The Q-factors for different kinds of losses in the MWCNT resonator are extracted numerically to demonstrate the superior performance compared with a copper counterpart.

Structure of cylindrical tissue-equivalent phantom for medical applications 医用圆柱形组织等效模体结构

This paper presents fundamental investigation of the validity of the homogeneous tissue-equivalent phantom which is simulated human tissue structures simply and is used in general experiment for evaluations of interaction between the human body and the antenna characteristics. In this paper, the dependence of antenna characteristics on structure of analytical model was investigated. Therefore the half wavelength dipole antenna and the loop antenna were arranged near a homogeneous model and a layer structural model, and the difference of antenna characteristics by structure of model was investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that the human tissue structure had a significant effect on the antenna characteristics when the distance between the antenna and the phantom is less than 0.1λ. In contrast, in case that the distance is more than 0.3λ, the validity of the homogeneous phantom was confirmed.

A phased array antenna using cross dipole antenna for mobile satellite communications 一种移动卫星通信用交叉偶极子天线相控阵天线

In this paper, we propose a phased array antenna which consists of crossed dipole antenna with a reflector as an element antenna. The element antenna is designed by optimizing its parameters. The main and cross polarization characteristics of the right and left side beam scanning of the fabricated 19-element array antenna is measured. Next, the experimental results of the beam scanning characteristics is discussed. It is shown that the measured results is effective to a satellite communications mobile station.

PIFA based reconfigurable multiband antenna for wireless applications 无线应用中基于PIFA的可重构多波段天线

A compact reconfigurable four bands Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) is presented for Digital Video Broadcasting — Handheld (DVB-H), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM800, 900, 1800 and 1900), Personal Communications System (PCS), Wireless Local Area Network and Bluetooth (WLAN), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (m-WiMAX) and Hiperlan/2 applications. Two varactor diodes with variable capacitors are used to electrically tune the operating frequencies over a wide range. The overall size of the radiated parts is 31.5 × 30.5 mm2 which makes it easy to integrate it into small mobile handset. Depending on the voltage applied to the switches the operating frequencies at 0.7 GHz, 2 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5 GHz can be tuned over 30.48%, 20%, 4% and 4% respectively. The peak gains for the four bands range −4dBi, 3dBi, 3dBi and 6dBi at DVB-H, UMTS, WiAMX and WLAN, respectively. The average efficiency of the four bands ranges from 95% to 85%. The radiation patterns and other discussions are provided.

Depending on the voltage applied to the switches the operating frequencies at 0.7 GHz, 2 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5 GHz can be tuned over 30.48%, 20%, 4% and 4% respectively. The peak gains for the four bands range −4dBi, 3dBi, 3dBi and 6dBi at DVB-H, UMTS, WiAMX and WLAN, respectively. The average efficiency of the four bands ranges from 95% to 85%. A polarization- and power-agile interrogator antenna for UHF RFID systems 一种用于超高频射频识别系统的极化和功率敏捷询问器天线

We present an active interrogator antenna for UHF RFID (radio-frequency identification) systems which is capable of transmitting electromagnetic radiation at any desired polarization and with adjustable transmit power. We use a dual-polarized patch antenna originally radiating linear polarization in +45° and −45° direction and feed each input with signals that can be adjusted in both phase and amplitude by two vector modulators. The vector modulators are controlled by a microprocessor that provides an RS-232 interface. The antenna also comprises power amplifiers to achieve a maximum transmit power of 2 W at any desired polarization mode. For testing we perform measurements that determine the radiation pattern and polarization mode of a commercially available transponder and find very good agreement with simulation results.
