: New in vivo observations and collections of Ijimaiella, a monospecific genus of Euplectellidae (Porifera: Hexactinellida) from the Bering Sea provide the first look at the peculiar morphology of this sponge that was known before only from trawled fragments. New data on the spicule content and the generic diagnosis are given. The affiliation of the generic status and its position in the subfamily Corbitellinae is confirmed. How to cite this article: Tabachnick K.R., Menshenina L.L., Ehrlich H. 2022. New findings of Ijimaiella (Porifera: Hexactinellida: Euplectellidae) from the Bering Sea // Invert. Zool. Vol.19

: Present study aims to characterize and classify the haemocyte structural types and to determine the total and differential haemocyte counts in freshwater crab, Varuna litterata . Haemolymph was collected from the crabs and subjected to the light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and flow cytometric analysis for the cytomorphological characterization and classification. Total and differential haemocyte counts were also carried out. On the basis of various cytomorphological features, haemocytes of V. litterata were classified into hyalinocytes, small granule haemocytes and large granule haemocytes. Hyalinocytes are round, oval, irregular, spindle or ellipsoid shaped cells with low to high nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio and contained a number of cytoplasmic organelles and a few minute-sized granules in the cytoplasm. Small granule haemocytes are large sized ovoid or ellipsoid shaped cells with a relatively high nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio and possessed numerous small sized granules. Large granule haemocytes are comparatively large-size, circular or ovoid shaped haemocytes with a high nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio and contained numerous large round refractile granules and a few small granules. Total haemocyte count of V. litterata is noted as 1.021 x10 6 to 3.108 x10 6 with a mean value of 2.145 ± 0.84 x 10 6 cells ml –1 . The relative percentages of hyalinocytes, small granule haemocytes and large granule haemocytes are accounted as 13.93, 55.24 and 30.83% respectively in the haemolymph. Outcome of this study might provide valuable information regarding the haemocyte profile of V. litterata that would be helpful to carry out further studies on haemocyte structural types to know about their specific functions and immune mechanisms.

: Temnocephalids are rhabdocoel flatworms that are found either commensal or parasitic on a wide variety of hosts. In India, the occurrence of temnocephalids was recorded and studied from preserved specimens. Regarding the morphology of the specimens, vague descriptions were given. Since then, no following studies were found. This study provides a new insight regarding the specimens found on a freshwater crab, Maydelliathelphusa lugubris (Wood-Mason, 1871). The specimens are identified as Temnosewellia semperi (Weber, 1890) based on the presence of brown pigment, five tentacles, posterior adhesive disc, five syncytial plates: tentacular, postentacular, body, peduncular and adhesive plates, the excretory pore lying on the dorsal side of the body plate and the absence of papillae on the dorsal surface or tentacular surface. The most important diagnostic feature is the structure of the cirrus which is the main taxonomic character to identify the species. Temnosewellia semperi has a nearly straight cirrus with the distal part slightly dilated as observed in this species.

. Idrisiella bourkaizensis gen. et sp.n. is a new valvatiform hydrobiid gastropod from Morocco; it can be distinguished by the morphology of the shell and anatomical criteria. The new genus and species was found in the northern part of Morocco, in the border of the Middle Atlas massif, which is a geographical barrier known for its other endemic molluscs, and a place of high interest for the crenobiotic malacofauna. article: Mabrouki Y., Glöer P., gen. et sp.n., a new valvatoid snail (Gastropoda: Hydrobiidae) from Morocco // Invert. A new species of stygobiotic atyid shrimps of the genus Xiphocaridinella (Crustacea: Decapoda: Atyidae) from the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, with a new record of X. kumistavi from the Imereti, Western Georgia, Caucasus

: An integrative approach resulted in a description of a new species of stygobiotic shrimps of the genus Xiphocaridinella Sadowsky, 1930 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Atyidae) from the southern part of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region of the Western Georgia (SW Caucasus). The area and caves, from which this species is recorded will be flooded during the construction of the Tvishi hydroelectric power plant and it is unknown whether it will be possible to find the species again. Xiphocaridinella lechkhumensis sp.n. is easily separated from the other species of the genus both morphologically and genetically, as evidenced by barcoding segments of the mitochondrial COI gene marker (barcoding). In addition, we discovered a new population of X. kumistavi Marin, 2017 in the Satevzia Cave from Imereti Region. This population genetically diverged from the type series from the Prometheus Cave by the barcoding gap of 2.4%. The genus Xiphocaridinella in the Colchis Valley of the SW Caucasus now encompasses 15 species.
