Prototype of a Serious Game for Peace Construction in a Colombian Context 哥伦比亚背景下和平建设严肃游戏的原型

This article presents a prototype of a serious video game directed to the construction of peace in the Colombian context. We ask participants to identify themselves with a made-up profile, and collaborate with people that are different to their profile. In this indirect way, we pursue the construction of peace by encouraging the conversation among people with different points of view. Preliminary user studies show that our prototype encourages collaboration among participants.

Free Software in Local Governments in Costa Rica: A Longitudinal Study 哥斯达黎加地方政府的自由软件:一项纵向研究

This paper presents the results from a survey of local governments in Costa Rica regarding the use of free software and the limitations found for such type of software. This survey is part of a longitudinal study, which conducted a similar survey in 2012; therefore, the results from the present survey are compared with the previous one to determine changes across time.

Technologies in the School Daily Life: Patent Survey in Brazil and the United States from 2000 to 2017 学校日常生活中的技术:2000年至2017年巴西和美国专利调查

The purpose of this article is to present a survey on existing patents in Education, with an emphasis on Educational Management and School Frequency. The survey was conducted based on a research protocol performed on two patent bases (INPI-Brazilian and USPTO-American) as a way to highlight the state of the art from intellectual property records. The choice of searching patent information is justified by the fact of containing advances in the state of practice and application, not always published in scientific vehicles. The results found were organized in: i) quantitative analysis and ii) description of the patents included by the patent mapping. The survey identified 25 patents deposited from 2000 till 2017, meanwhile 108 patents authorized for use were found in USA (average time of 5 years between deposit and authorization). The patents found comprise 4 innovation areas: learning support technologies, including virtual or distance learning environments; learning objects (games); sensors of presence; and educational processes management.

Architecture with Internet of Things for Counting Passengers in Urban Bus 基于物联网的城市公交点票架构

This paper proposes an Architecture based on Internet of Things for passenger counting in bus. The Architecture provides informations about the number of passengers per route in a public transportation system that adopts integrated billing. Experiments were performed with microcontrollers boarded on buses and with the COAP and Ble 6LowPan protocols. Cameras were installed on the buses and Computational Vision algorithms in the microcontrollers analyzed the images to detect people. The results showed that the Internet of Things protocols, COAP and Ble 6LowPan offer low overhead and response time.

Technical Aspects of Software Development in Startups: A Systematic Mapping 创业公司软件开发的技术方面:一个系统的映射

Startup companies are seeking for a business model by means of innovative products and need external investments until they can stabilize this product in the market and then start to grow to become a mature company. Nevertheless, many of these companies fail before the growth phase, emerging the need to seek for methods that help these companies to achieve their goals. This paper intends to identify the techniques, practices and tools used in software development on startups and from the results present a knowledge base that can be transferable to the industry. A systematic mapping study was conducted using a classification schema to attest the primary studies quality as well as a exclusion and inclusion criteria to select them. A total of 112 studies are found at the end of the searches and 19 of them were selected to form the mapping study. From these studies a total of 24 techniques, 31 practices and 37 tools were found. As a result the mapping study presents a technical knowledge base that seeks to fill the research gap and that can also be used as a starting point for both researchers and startups' practitioners.

Understanding the Successes and Challenges of Model-Driven Software Engineering - A Comprehensive Systematic Mapping 理解模型驱动软件工程的成功与挑战——一个全面的系统映射

Model-Driven Software Engineering (MDSE) is a development method in which models are used to generate software. Despite documented advantages, projects employing MDSE may fail due to development challenges. In this paper, we study and document these challenges by conducting an up-to-date systematic mapping that goes beyond reviewing MDSE studies: we also include two derived paradigms (Model-Oriented Programming and Models at Run-time). Therefore, we present a systematic mapping with two objectives: The first objective was to identify specific domains in which MDSE is successful, while the second objective was to identify what are the challenges to apply this methodology to general purpose development processes. Following the review of 4859 studies (3727 are unique), we have identified the application and technological domains in which MDSE projects are more likely to succeed. We also discuss challenges presented by 17 primary studies. The analysis of the results indicate that MDSE application is consolidated in specific domains. A common feature identified among studies related to general purpose MDSE processes is that, initially, authors reported lack of proper methods and training. After new techniques have risen, it has been pointed that MDSE projects still face maintenance problems that can discourage their usage in other domains.
