Long-term energy management optimization according to different types of transactions 根据不同交易类型优化长期能源管理

In this paper, the authors describe a method for energy management, according to minimal costs criteria over one year (month after month), of an electric utility, which has to deal with nuclear and hydroelectric power plants, sale/purchase and exchange contracts, and spot market business. The chosen method for minimizing the costs is linear programming with most variables being continuous, and a few binary ones. The results obtained allow the management of every power plant, contract and the spot market business, in order to respect the economic, physical and environmental constraints.

Unlimited point algorithm for OPF problems OPF问题的无限点算法

A nonlinear optimal power flow (OPF) algorithm is presented which allows to solve the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions using a pure Newton-Raphson solution procedure. The method is similar to interior point algorithms. However, due to a simple transformation, the variable space becomes unlimited (unlimited point) and variables do not need to be forced to stay within the feasible region during all OPF iterations as is the case for interior point algorithms. As a consequence only a pure Newton-Raphson iterative process to algebraically transformed KKT conditions is applied. The algorithm has been successfully applied to various networks up to size 700 buses with the active power loss objective function.

Online topology determination and bad data suppression in power system operation using artificial neural networks 基于人工神经网络的电力系统在线拓扑确定与不良数据抑制

The correct assessment of network topology and system operating state in the presence of corrupted data is one of the most challenging problems during real-time power system monitoring, particularly when both topological (branch or bus misconfigurations) and analogical errors are considered. This paper proposes a new method that is capable of distinguishing between topological and analogical errors, and also of identifying which are the misconfigured elements or the bad measurements. The method explores the discrimination capability of the normalized innovations, which are used as input variables to an artificial neural network whose output is the identified anomaly. Data projection techniques are also employed to visualize and confirm the discrimination capability of the normalized innovations. The method is tested using the IEEE 118-bus test system and a configuration of a Brazilian utility.

An integrated application for voltage sag analysis 电压暂降分析的集成应用

Voltage sags affect many more customers than momentary interruptions do. The sags on a distribution feeder are likely to result in damage to a customer's sensitive equipment on all of the adjacent feeders. It is essential to understand the characteristics of sags in order to determine the most suitable distribution feeder configuration and equipment specifications. In this paper, the development and implementation of an integrated software tool for voltage sag analysis is presented. It integrates the available historical outage data, analytical calculation algorithm, and advanced computer graphical capabilities together to provide valuable voltage sag information. State-of-the-art software technologies are used to ensure the effectiveness, openness, and flexibility of the integration approaches. Initial field experiences at PG&E have indicated a great demand of such an informational tool.

A new thermal unit commitment approach using constraint logic programming 一种基于约束逻辑规划的热机组配置新方法

The authors propose a constraint logic programming (CLP) algorithm to solve the thermal unit commitment (UC) problem in this paper. The algorithm combines the characteristics of the logic programming with the constraint satisfaction as well as the depth-first branch and bound (B&B) search techniques to provide an efficient and flexible approach to the UC problem. Through the constraint satisfaction techniques, the constraints, which consist of the upper bound on the objective value, are propagated as much as possible to actively reduce the search space of the UC problem in a priori way. Consequently, the optimal solution can be acquired in a very early stage. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the practical thermal UC problem of Taiwan Power (Taipower) 38-unit system over a 24-hour period is solved by the CLP algorithm implemented in CHIP language, The results obtained are compared with those from the established methods of dynamic programming, Lagrangian relaxation as well as simulated annealing.

New methods for visualization of dynamic behavior of power systems 电力系统动态行为可视化的新方法

The present paper proposes new graphical representation methods of the dynamic behavior of power systems. Four kinds of representation methods based on computer animation techniques are proposed in this paper. These representations make it possible to visualize the results of dynamic stability, voltage stability simulations and the results of eigenvalue analysis using a personal computer. With the help of these representations, one can easily understand the dynamic characteristics of electrical power systems.

Dual programming methods for large-scale thermal generation scheduling 大型火力发电调度的双规划方法

The problem of thermal generation scheduling is considered in the framework of the short-term hydro-thermal coordination problem. Dual programming methods are applied to the large-scale problem deriving from a fine subdivision of the daily optimization horizon for networks with hundreds of thermal units. The starting point for the dual approach is obtained from the solution of a thermal scheduling problem with discarded generation ramp-rate constraints. The relaxed daily scheduling decouples into as many smaller dispatch problems as the number of subintervals. Two dual programming methods are implemented: the former is the dual active set algorithm by Goldfarb and Idnani; while the latter is based on the application of continuation method techniques. These approaches are extensively tested with reference to both a small sample system and to the daily thermal generation scheduling of the Italian (ENEL) system (over 100 thermal units and 96 quarter hour subintervals). Incorporating the dual programming approach within the ENEL hydro-thermal coordination procedure is also considered.

Short term generation scheduling in photovoltaic-utility grid with battery storage 具有蓄电池储能的光伏电网短期发电调度

This paper presents an efficient approach to short-term resource scheduling for an integrated thermal and photovoltaic-battery generation. The proposed model incorporates battery storage for peak load shaving. Several constraints including battery capacity, minimum up/down time and ramp rates for thermal units, as well as natural photovoltaic (PV) capacity are considered in the proposed model. A case study composed of 26 thermal units and a PV-battery plant is presented to test the efficiency of the method.

A new digital filter for phasor computation. II. Evaluation 一种新的相量计算数字滤波器。2评价

For pt.I see ibid., p.78-83 (1997). The results of the evaluation of a new type of digital filter are presented in this paper. The filter theory is outlined in part I of the paper. The new filter results from the application of a special window to the coefficients of the traditional Fourier, cosine and sine algorithms. It is compared in the paper with the Fourier, cosine and sine filters in terms of steady-state and transient responses. Extensive time-domain simulations are performed to evaluate the filter transient behavior. The new filter is shown to be more accurate than the Fourier filter for window lengths equal or greater than 3 cycles of the fundamental frequency. It retains its accuracy even for window lengths being different from multiples of one cycle. The new filter is suitable for phasor computation for the fault location and measuring functions required in digital distance relays and fault recorders.

The results of the evaluation of a new type of digital filter are presented in this paper. The filter theory is outlined in part I of the paper. The new filter results from the application of a special window to the coefficients of the traditional Fourier, cosine and sine algorithms. It is compared in the paper with the Fourier, cosine and sine filters in terms of steady-state and transient responses. Extensive time-domain simulations are performed to evaluate the filter transient behavior. The new filter is shown to be more accurate than the Fourier filter for window lengths equal or greater than 3 cycles of the fundamental frequency. It retains its accuracy even for window lengths being different from multiples of one cycle. In competitive electricity markets, human decision-makers need assistance to determine potential coalitions that they can be part of. The authors present an approach for designing specialized intelligent software agents that perform negotiations on behalf of their human counterparts, and then suggest market strategies that the human can adopt. The authors' negotiation protocol is derived from cooperative game theory; however, it differs from the game theory literature in requiring virtually no trustworthy information exchange between the potential condition partners. In this paper, they apply it to power markets.
