Design and implementation of a multiprocessor with hypercube interconnection network 具有超立方体互连网络的多处理器的设计与实现

The authors present the design and implementation of a multiprocessor with a hypercube interconnection network. The hardware configuration of the hypercube multiprocessor is realized by using 16 processing elements (PEs) with a single CPU and five parallel interfaces per PE. Four programmable parallel interfaces (PPI) are interconnected with four adjacent PEs in a hypercube manner, and the other PPI is directly connected to the control computer. The software structure is also presented, focusing on the communication mechanism between adjacent PEs of the hypercube multiprocessor and communication between the PE and the control computer. Furthermore, the implemented graphic display control and its interface are briefly described from the viewpoint of hardware. The designed system has wide applicability in parallel computation with load balancing among PEs of the hypercube multiprocessor.<>

A control system for maintaining constant braking torque on a disk brake dynamometer 在盘式制动测功机上保持恒定制动扭矩的控制系统

Most manufacturers of composite friction materials do not possess adequate facilities to test their products dynamically. A practical solution is to simulate the braking process in the laboratory mechanically by means of a disc brake dynamometer. The authors describe a control-system design for the dynamometer. The function of the control system is to maintain a constant braking torque for the testing of brake blocks. A constant braking torque is necessary to create a realistic simulation of the true situation. A driver of a motor car continually varies the force exerted on the brake pedal while braking in order to maintain a constant deceleration of his vehicle. In this case, the driver is the controller who subconsciously adjusts the force on the brake pedal to compensate for the natural variations in the value of the friction coefficient of the brake block material. Therefore, by controlling the dynamometer's breaking torque, it is possible to determine the dynamic change in the friction coefficient of the material under test. After describing the control system philosophy and the design criteria, the authors discuss the pressure controller in detail.<>

Multi-inverter UPS system with redundant load sharing control 具有冗余负载分担控制的多逆变器UPS系统

The concept of a redundant multi-inverter UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system includes extended monitoring of the status and the operating conditions of all power electronic equipment. Each block of the UPS system is monitored by two independent microcomputers that process the same data. The microcomputers are part of a redundant distributed monitoring system, being separately interlinked by two serial data buses through which they communicate. They establish a hierarchy among the participating blocks, defining one of the healthy inverter blocks as the master. The actual master runs the central synchronizing unit for the entire system, while the slave units perform the control of equal active and reactive load sharing. Operation and fault detection are experimentally exemplified in a dual inverter system having a rating of 10 kVA of redundant power.<>

Large area electron beam direct imaging technology for printed wiring boards 印刷线路板的大面积电子束直接成像技术

An electron beam direct imaging system that can image electric circuit patterns directly on printed wiring boards (PWBs) from computer-aided design (CAD) data without using film masks has been developed. The system realizes beam deflection over a large field of 100 mm*100 mm. The deflection field can be imaged in less than 1 s with an accuracy of better than +or-30 mu m. The maximum deflection speed is 254 m/s, and the beam diameter in full width at half maximum is 40 mu m. This technology can use the same kinds of resists as those for conventional photolithography. It was shown that fine patterns with line widths less than 100 mu m can be imaged for PWBs 340 mm*400 mm in size by stitching deflection fields.<>

A novel line synchronization scheme for static power converters 一种新的静态变流器线路同步方案

The conduction intervals of power semiconductors in static converters connected to the AC mains are dictated by the AC line voltages. Accurate and reliable synchronization signals must therefore be generated despite the significant distortion that can be present in the AC voltage. The authors propose a novel method for obtaining accurate zero-crossing signals, based on the use of switched-capacitor filters. The characteristic frequency of such filters depends on the frequency of an external control signal. Therefore, this frequency can be accurately set and made to track the input frequency variations. The scheme is presented and analyzed, and design criteria are derived. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the method over conventional filtering techniques. The scheme has been used successfully for phase-controlled thyristor converters and transistorized four-quadrant PWM (pulse-width modulated) AC/DC converters.<>

The authors present the design and implementation of a microcomputer-based interactive digital controller development system. A multiprocessor-based hardware architecture has been proposed for the implementation of a distributed parallel digital controller. A complicated digital control algorithm can be synthesized by using fundamental software building blocks. A high-level digital controller description language has been designed to simplify the programming task of the digital control algorithm. The designed system provides users with an interactive environment for the development of high-performance digital control systems.<>

Efficient tools for analysis and implementation of manufacturing systems modelled by Petri net with objects: a production rules compilation-based approach 用对象Petri网建模的制造系统分析和实现的有效工具:基于生产规则编译的方法

An attempt is made to show how well-designed rule-based systems can be used for analysis and implementation of real-time manufacturing systems modeled a by Petri net with objects (PNO). After defining the PNO model, the authors outline some problems that one can encounter when implementing it. On account of the PNO similarity with rule-based systems, it is shown how translating a PNO specification into an equivalent rule-based program can narrow the gap from a PNO specification to its implementation. However, PSs run quite slowly and it is shown how a rule compilation-based technique can decrease the PNO execution cost by improving the computational efficiency of the rule interpreter at the pattern-matching level. The authors introduce a novel approach for this end in light of specific features provided by the PNO model. They present analysis tools built from this approach, underlining solutions for invariant searching and state graph generation problems. The distributed implementation issue is addressed, and a solution is proposed.<>

The authors present a novel three-phase pulse-width-controlled semiconverter topology, using a novel PWM (pulse-width modulation) control strategy in order to reduce the low-order harmonic content in both the input current and the output voltage. The circuit operates with unity displacement factor at its input and uses minimum power components. The proposed PWM strategy allows its implementation on a three-phase semiconverter bridge with only three controlled switches, so as to obtain PWM controlled rectification. Although the circuit operation is explained with force commutated SCR switches, the basic controlled PWM operation is valid for any alternative controlled switches, such as GTO or transistors, which do not require the commutating power components. The circuit has wide applications ranging from rectifiers and battery chargers to motor drives.<>

The authors present a prototype phase-current sensing circuit to detect and process phase-current waveforms for obtaining exact rotor position signals. Without an additional phase-calibration loop for processed signals, the output signals of this circuit can keep in phase with the signals of a Hall sensor for a wide range of speed variations. Furthermore, with the nearly exact rotor position signals this prototype sensing circuit, better torque operation can be obtained. Experimental results obtained with this circuit are given and compared with the signals from the Hall sensor of a brushless DC motor.<>

A flexible manufacturing system design and evaluation package which consists of three programs, the component library manager, the plan design program, and the simulator program, was developed. The library manager contains both shape and characteristics of the components. The plan design program permits the location of components extracted from a library, its connection through transportation elements, the drawing of a layout, and the storing of its map for possible future modification. The simulation program consists of a process description and a simulation. The simulation is made through a specially designed program developed in C language.<>
